Some thoughts: 1) flying as high as possible maximizes glide distance; can always get lower when closer to the islands for sight seeing 2) fatty foods make excellent survival rations; high in calories take up less space

I just watched this video, went to MSFS 2020 and recreated the whole route (as best I could) Even had weather that matched. But I never got any delicious meals between flights and didn't have a good friend with me to share the experience. Final score? You win. But, I am getting my daughter home from the hospital tomorrow and she's gonna be just fine, so I win too!

I'd love to do a relaxed tour around that part of the world, but I can't see it happening now. Life gets more complicated with a wheelchair. You really need to push that dry bag under the surface of the water and make sure no air escapes to be sure it is properly waterproof - if you ever need it for real, it will not arrive as gently into the water as it did into your pool. And of course, it needs to be where you can reach it in an emergency, which I noticed you did, but for anyone who has never prepped for long overwater flights in a single, is worth mentioning. The luxuries go in the luggage compartment(s), the necessities in the cabin.
