It leaked through the zips. I was amazed it wasn’t worse if I’m being honest. So it was a good test and I’ll give it a pass. I’ve since sealed the zips. 👍
@AndyWardle Looked awesome 👌 and congrats on cutting back on tge ale I've done same .. Big drinker all my life to I've quit completely though for over a year now had bit liver scare 👀 .. But anyway keep up great vids Andy 👍👍👍
Hi Andy, tough camp mate... Sorry not been in touch I broken a bone in my shoulder been in a lot of pain, thanks again for the Kospet watch my daughter loves it. 😊👌
another great camp , the tent looks really good amd I'm sure will be even better once you have sealed it , hope firemaple listen to what you have mentioned about the flap , love that torch , I think flextail make some awesome bits of kit , I actually loved the sound of the rain on the tent
Yeah I gave them my feedback. See what comes of it. I’ve sealed it now. So next time it rains I’ll go out in it. Flextail gear is very good. I still use everything they’ve sent me. 👍
Hi Andy.. That was a proper test for the firemaple and to be honest it beat my X-Mid in similar windy rainy conditions hands down.. kept it's shape and the head and foot end didn't even budge in the wind. A simple bit of seam sealing and it's good to go.. Unfortunately Royal Mail have lost mine in the system and I'm really gutted, I should have received it over a week ago now. I'll be contacting firemaple once Royal mail send me confirmation via email that have lost it, and see if firemaple will send me another one before Xmas.. ? I'm liking this tent the more I see it now and can't wait to get my hands on one. Great video Andy 👍
Cheers. Aye it’s a good tent. I’ve since sealed it. So hoping that solves that little issue. That was biblical rain though. I expected more leaks to be fair. Hope they sort you out soon. Sounds like a nightmare. 👍
Good video, I hate the noise of heavy rain on canvas so it would have been a poor camping trip for me! Pleased the tent kept you dry, and defo you need to use a winter bag at this time of year! Well done on the beers! Cheers Mark!
I don't know when, I don't know why Why he's gone away😂. Great camp in some tough conditions for the tent but you will of given confidence for peeps wanting to purchase this one. All the best fella. I'll be here and you'll be near 😂😂
@AndyWardle I am still considering the 3f UL taiji 1 as it's more budget friendly than the helm 1. There are only a couple of vids testing 3ful though so I might wait a bit longer. Great to watch you try and destroy it though and every credit.
"The Atkinson Monument, found a short distance from the summit of Stony Cove Pike, is dedicated to Mark Atkinson and his son William Ion Atkinson. The Atkinson family owned and ran the Kirkstone Pass Inn for many years after purchasing it in 1914. The cairn itself was located such that the inn was within view." One of the stone plaques set into the cairn is inscribed 'Hic Jacet Mark Atkinson of Kirkstone Pass Inn, died 14 June 1930 aged 69 years.' The other stone plaque which is dedicated to his son, is inscribed 'Also his son William Ion Atkinson, died 2nd April 1987 aged 83 years.' 'It seems odd that they should chose to have their ashes placed in such a remote place as this, until...........' '....you turn around to see the Kirkstone Pass Inn far below in the distance. The Atkinson family owned and ran the Inn for many years, having purchased it in 1914, the monument is clearly visible from the Inn on the skyline of Caudale Moor'
The thing with these craft ale companies are they're always looking for inspiration for the next brew.. it's only a matter of time before Chocolate Starfish & Rich Tea IPA will be lined up along side all the other monstrous flavours in your local Morrisons... You should feel very proud... 🤢
Good video, Andy! That was a good test for that tent. I too expected it to leak in that rain. Thanks for taking us along on this one.

Was a good mix up of conditions. Luckily I survived 😂

Really enjoyed the video Andy the wind and rain sounded awesome through my headphones . Some beautiful views well done 👍
Cheers. I got sick of the rain after 3 hours. I couldn’t hear Craig Charles 😂.
Hi Andy, that was a proper test of the tent!! Amazing views the following morning - that's the Lakes for you 😊Atb
5 seasons in one night 😂 can’t believe the Aurora popped up 😂 crazy 🤪 👍
Good video, I hate the noise of heavy rain on canvas so it would have been a poor camping trip for me! Pleased the tent kept you dry, and defo you need to use a winter bag at this time of year! Well done on the beers! Cheers Mark!
I got sick of the rain noise. Gentle rain is ok not biblical rain 😂. I’ve been out since with the Rab 900. So much better. 👍
Lisa outstanding in her field. 🎤🎶
😂
Wow quite the climb.😮
Only the first few hundred yards. Then it’s a nice gentle hike. 👍
I can give another thumbs up for your description of the beer bro that was awesome. 👍🤣Tent held up well too. Safe travels. Ken.
😂 my descriptions are eerily accurate. I’m back on the real beer now. But as you’ll see in my next video I’m not too happy about it. 👍
"just ignore everything I say, it's all crack" 😂😂 love your commentary, Andy. Please keep the videos coming, never stop!
True story. I just make it all up as I go 😂
Great video mate. I camped up there earlier in the year, video on my channel. The Atkinsons were past owners of the Kirkstone pass inn.
Cheers. Yeah I did a bit research. Quite interesting. Another comment here gives the full story. 👍
That was an ascent and a half, the views made it worth your hard work. Id like to know the story behind the grave monuments too.
Cheers. Pretty tough but only the first bit. After that climb it’s easy. Another commenter has posted the full story. 👍
I don't know when, I don't know why
Why he's gone away😂. Great camp in some tough conditions for the tent but you will of given confidence for peeps wanting to purchase this one. All the best fella. I'll be here and you'll be near 😂😂
I told Firemaple that I’d destroy that tent for them. So they can improve it. I’ve seam sealed it too. So hopefully it’ll be sound next time out. 👍

Nice camp...Bit brutal tho Mr W...I recognised the start point...Got into a spot of bother and fractured mi skull there. Remember bits of it well 😂
Nasty business. Would explain a lot 😂 🤕 it was a weird night with the weather. I couldn’t work it out. Atb 👍
@AndyWardle haha ... It's because your a fair weather camper 😉😄
@@hedgerowsandzeros i definitely am. It’s obvious 😂
Great video, Andy I’ve just come off the beer I like the Guinness zero. What would be your best beer you’ve had?
I like the Guinness zero It was like real Guinness. The others are a bit watery. I’m back on it now. But I’ve turned a corner and cut right back. 👍
👍🏻
👌
that bug you found is called a stink bug mate.
It was actually called Derek 😂 🐛

That’s brilliant research. Cheers. What a story. And what a place. 👍

😂 I’ve a few others I could recommend. Probably get me cancelled. If you find a weird one let me know. I’m always looking out for new ones. 👍
See beer can taste good without alcohol.
It was better than the last one. But I’m back on it now. My next video will show you what I think of the real beer. 🤢 👍
It tastes like something else, badgers piss ??? 😂😂😂
😂 one description. 🦡
What's your favourite part of wild camping?
Packing up and going home 😂
@@AndyWardle I just love ❤️ that Geordie sense of humour!
