They're saying they made car handling more realistic and still they take the inside line at turn 4 at Zandvoort.
Seems like realistic handling is in the name only. Handling still broken and unrealistic like f1 22.

@@dramoxi The graphics in f1 2016 are similar to f1 2024. The car damage model is the same as in f1 2016. They removed classic cars. The Upgrade Tree has also been available since f1 2016, only in a slightly modernized form, so what are you telling me that I haven't played this game?

Tyres needed a rework badly and they did that. DRS and track specific pecking order as well and the suspension rework also sounds interesting.

F1 2019 is still the best f1 game in my books: classic cars, alternate track layouts, and f2 included.
nah f1 2020 is better but ever so slightly. the handling in f1 2020 is better than 2019, there is my team career instead of the normal regular driver career theres classic cars and alternate layouts for some tracks. the only thing there isnt is f2 incorporated into driver career as a mini story.

All of the suspension/physics might be going on in the background/code, but my problem with it is, you *still can't SEE IT* represented in the graphics/animations. The car suspension does not bounce, you don't see the wheels or axles move independently. And the computer AI *still* continue to follow each other in a single-filed line, like they are part of a train. It all just makes for a very unrealistic aesthetic. Other than all of the updated, accurate liveries and tracks, Assetto Corsa mods still look & feel more real.🤦♂
So much for better physics - when there is barely any damage or crash modeling. And I want to be able to walk over to the car and get in. Or get out if I crash. I want to race with virtualized real-time F1 cars that are actually on the track at that moment - superimposed in real time on my screen.
I also want to see the crowd and active trackside personnel and pit crew moving around. These are features I wanted over 10 years ago!

This whole game looks like it's from 2009, to be honest. Codemasters themselves have made better-looking racers around that time, such as "DiRT 2". The detail in that game holds up, apart from some limitations. Dirt on the environment and vehicles look great, water looks great, other effects look great, and so on. - "Dirt Rally" (the first) looks better yet, and that's from 2015. - This game looks so dry and simplistic in comparison.
I know it also needs to render a whole platoon of cars and more complex environments and they want it to not budge in performance at all, but then we have so much more computing-power today. - And there's games like Assetto and GT... This doesn't touch any of those.

2024 - Overheated. According to me, this is the second best livery on the grid. Red Bull have identity, that's why their livery didn't changed.
So much yapping, when every single physics/handling mechanic change mentioned in the video just sounds like how it also works in previous F1 games.
please change online multiplayer lobbys, its always 5 times waiting for everyone to synchronize and connect from lobby till race start and in lobby the timer resets everytime as soon as one player joins or leaves the lobby is crazy. it takes up to 15 minutes to START a 5 lap race and this repeats itself. in 1 hour your driving maybe 3 5laps races is wild.

70 dollars for engine braking dlc is kinda crazy
They should make an unique platform called "F1" and only charge us for DLCs that includes every new season grid. They aren't working on any engine update or at least the visual upgrades are minimal (Btw the RB20 and the SF24 should not reflect the light the same way as other cars because both cars painting are matte)... Tyre model, aero model, among others, are things that can be included on any patch (like any other sim) and they would have a bigger audience by making their player's money worth a little bit more.

In career mode, I always wish the design of the driver's helmet was more elaborate. For example, in 2010, each team had a visor sticker for that team. I wonder why the sponsor name is not reflected in career mode like in my team mode. I always think that if it was just a repainting of the title and the machine's color scheme every year, it could be sold at the same time as the opening.
Was better to let us design our own helmet, from lines to stickers, colours up to aerodynamics elements on the helmet
I don't know what you CAN do in F1-games, but it should be like what was in the career-mode of the first "GRID", except more customizable like placing stuff manually and such. - I really liked that in that game, which made a car and team feel a bit more "yours".

Bring back classic cars, and add a classic career mode. Also add in a more realistic handling model, I have a feeling it might be just as bad as F1 23. Better engine sounds would be nice too. Asetto Corsa F1 mods sound amazing.

I'd like to see future versions of F1 include the following:
* Career mode: more than 2 players in career mode. League with more than 2 players is good, however it doesn't add the complexities of R&D and keeping your contract like career mode does. The practice sessions in career are much better as you actually have to reach targets in preparation for your quali sessions and race.
* Livery Mods: it would be great if you could create your own custom liveries in game on PC and console versions. The liveries in game are limited and it appears that if you have a PC version (Steam) you are able to add a personalised livery into the folders. It would be great if this feature was available on XBox / PS5.

Maybe iRacing spoiled me, but just driving off line on the straights to cool the tires still isn't that great for rain physics. Needs to be grippier off the normal, rubbered in, line.

I hope that “track dependent car performance” is not as broad as you made it sound. Giving the Williams a buff just because they’re in Monza shouldn’t be a good thing. Each car should be able to stand out no only on each of its strong tracks, but also on their specifically strong sectors and even turns. The more specific the better

They should have the Lance Stroll mode, where you can crashed into anyone and blamed then for it, and you have the Stroll Breaking Point Story mode, where your daddy give you a lifetime contract.
I doubt the model is more advanced compared to the previous one: this game runs on the same 9 years old engine and it also has to run on the PS4 and XBOX One consoles which have a CPU which was very bad even for its time 11 years ago. We all know that the simulation and AI is run on the CPU so there is no way they can have a simulation model which is truly improved without dropping support for Ice Age consoles.
This whole trailer (and game) sounds like a nothingburger full of marketing, I expect just minor tweaks and not an overhaul, which btw is what it seems to be given the very poor beta testers feedback on this game.

Couldn’t care less about classic cars, I never bothered with them in past games. I’d rather CM spend the development time on more important things. My guess is they were a niche mode played by very few and that is why they were dumped. I buy the game to play the latest cars, not cars from the past.

This is all great but have you reintroduced the stats tab to show all your multiplayer stats such as starts, wins etc?! Dropped from last version which was ridiculous. Always nice to be able to track your multiplayer progress.
Don't get sucked in by the content creator comments. The cars are undriveable in the low speed. They need to overhaul their overhaul for this game to be playable. People saying it predictable must be saying that with a gun to their head.

Because it wouldn't be new for F1 24 then would it. they have to hold certain things back each year so that it can be used for the following year that's just the way it is.
With simulators such as Assetto Corsa and iRacing becoming more and more popular...The simcade community is starting to step their game up... literally. I'm all for it. We sim racers want as closely to the real driving experience as possible
Why is the contrast still so damn high? Especially the shadows and blacks are so damn dark. Look at 1:27, half of the car is 100% pure black darkness. Go to an actual F1 race and see how different it is. This would be such a simple fix... unbelievable. Played F123 for about 15 hours... switched to iRacing to never look back. For me, the contrast and horrible VR alone makes it not wanna get this. Apart from the borderline insane pricing.
I don't play these games, but it seems like it has none of that "auto-HDR", you know, like we have in our human vision, that adapts the brightness. - I don't know if actual gameplay-view is different than what we see here, but here it's absolutely static and doesn't change at all. So that's the problem. - And yes, they could lower the contrast or brighten the shadows a bit to compensate. But what I think is happening is that they want to make it look "dramatic" like autosports-style dramatic that you'd see in a lot of videos, not like real-life.
That said, their other non-F1 games look a lot better, even as old as 10-15 years now. - Just look at titles like "DiRT 2" and "Dirt Rally", they just look great. Particularly the latter has these instances where it looks like you're looking at a real image due to how they handle things like lighting and the cameras. - I don't understand Codemasters their inconsistency.

Not just me who wants updated tracks? A lot of tracks now look different to how they are in F1 23. Tell me they have updated them and not just copied the ones from F1 23 into F1 24.
They said they updated Spa, Jeddah, Silverstone and Qatar. Why it's only four tracks when they don't have to build a new track this year is beyond me.
Apparently the Silverstone changes were HUGE.

That would require actual work and effort on EA's part.
To me it looks like Monaco, Zandvoort, Silverstone, Spa, Jeddah and Qatar got updates. The rest, such as COTA and Monza, were copy and pasted from 23.
Upshifting while in 8th gear should cause the driver to remove a tear-off for added cool realism
Or you can just bind a button for it like in iracing. Makes no sense to remove a tear-off when shifting to 8th gear. Not realistic at all...
