Rolex isn't a high horology brand, so any brand that is, is automatically better. Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne, F.P. Journe, Breguet, Jaeger & LeCoultre. Any brand that does high complications, or hand crafted and hand detailed movements is better than Rolex. They're not even in the same league.
However, if you're looking for a reliable, durable tool watch, Rolex is at the top of the list. The delicate movements made by the watchmakers above are just not suitable for that kind of stuff.
Your statement was accurate until your last sentence which is not true for FP Journe. François-Paul has designed and created the LineSport collection exactly for people on the move. He made sure the movement was not "delicate". The only set back is that François-Paul refuses to build a timepiece with a screw crown, therefore limiting water resistance.

Rolex doesn’t really make watches with these complications and aesthetics.
What does 'better than Rolex' mean? Better in what way? Timekeeping? Popularity? They are nowhere near the same market.
Rolex is better than all watch companies together. I'm not personally special fan of Rolex or something like that ,but they made the mechanical watch the best luxury product there is ever .The others are only to compliment Rolex around. No one is not only better than them ,they are not even close to Rolex.
