My dad owned Cajun Way Swamp Tour on the West Pearl River we brought bus loads of tourists past the Irish Bayou Castle everyday most of them were fascinated by it. My father in-law built the original kitchen cabinets for it. It sold about 10 years ago for around $100k it has become a landmark the last 40 years.
Thank you for sharing that information. Right now it’s several hundred thousand dollars.

3:30 There is in fact a historical marker for the Harvey Castle on the corner of Destrehan Ave. and 4th St. It stands right in front of the bridge over the canal on the left hand side when travelling east.
Yes they put it back up since this recording! It had been knocked down for awhile but I saw it up recently. I’m happy they put it back up.
