I swear I'm gonna cry. I'm playing this as one of my graduation pieces, and it'll be the last time I ever play with my high school band director, and my fellow band mates.
I was in the same situation. I miss my high school band but at the same time college band is a thousand times better. I still visit my high school band sometimes. Not right now bc of the coronavirus but I try to go to band events
I know how you feel. Senior year my friends and I loved the song Feliz Navidad. We had a fantastic arrangement for it. Playing it for the last time was sad indeed. The last time I would ever play it with my friends again. I’m a bari sax player.
My son's HS concert band played this last night at their concert, and I was blown away. Beautiful piece. I could see a symphony doing this, even a drum and bugle corp...WOW!
This piece seems peaceful, but do not be fooled. There is a tribe of woodwinds that sacrificed their lungs for this piece. Source: Am a trumpet player who's seen this irl

I absolutely love this song, yet it makes me a little sad. It reminds me of my son's senior year in high school that was cut short by Covid. I'll try to remember the good times instead.
Right now my band is working on the 3 songs Terracotta Warriors, X-Factor, and Comic Dance and so hopefully we will be able to do it for a concert and it won't be canceled. You should check those songs out they sound cool!!
I love all of his songs. Everyone gets a part they can enjoy. Choose joy is a prime example of this even the bass section has a part they can enjoy. A lot of songs for concert band just give the flutes, clarinets, and sometimes alto saxophone the melody and leaves everyone else with whole notes but he doesnt do that. That is why I love all his songs
I play trombone for 10 years and I did trombone 1 and 2 in this piece and is sounded is good. also, the trumpet, flute, bassoon, tuba, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, and horn did a great job with this piece. one of the best music ever
Me and my 2nd band all region just played this 2 days ago, and it was wonderful, even tho we had only 1 and a half days to make it work, it was still good, somehow.
WE WERE GONNA PLAY THIS FOR OUR SPRING CONCERT LAST YEAR BUT THEN COVID HAPPENED AHHHHHHHHH. I swear this song hurts harder than a billie eilish song to a 14 yo e-girl to me
1:38-1:50 is a theme found in Standridge's "Kinetic Dances." It is also a horn feature there. It is my favorite phrase from both songs. If you're familiar with the piece, you know what I mean. If you don't know what I mean, go listen! If you like "Winds of Change," you will love "Kinetic Dances."
4:39 this part gives me so many chills
I swear I'm gonna cry. I'm playing this as one of my graduation pieces, and it'll be the last time I ever play with my high school band director, and my fellow band mates.
I played this piece last year when a bunch of my favorite seniors were leaving. I cried and I wasn't even a senior xD
i played this as a graduation piece. i cried throughout the entire song😭

I was gonna play it for my last concert in middle school then covid happened
i played both the flute solos my sophomore year of highschool
it’s only been two years but every time that last note rings out, i get major chills
it’s like i’m suddenly transported back onto the MPA stage under the lights
My son's HS concert band played this last night at their concert, and I was blown away. Beautiful piece. I could see a symphony doing this, even a drum and bugle corp...WOW!
Blown away by the winds of change! (PUN INTENDED!!)
My marching band is actually doing this.
Did someone say DRUM CORP??!
This brings back high school memories
This piece was the opener and closer to our marching show this past summer
Allison Byrd this was our opener last year
Closer here
Did you have to take singing lessons?
I can honestly see why. It’s absolutely gorgeous.
Allison Byrd amazing

That's what you think. Us tubas had to scream into our instruments for like the entire song except for the singing part and VERY beginning.

As a bari sax I was so excited to see the part (also we don’t have a bassoon so I get the really fun bassoon queues)!
Played this last year for competition in my area. The synth part is pretty fun, and it sounds great from back in the percussion section!
Is it not amazing that *Randall* Standridge composed "Winds of Change"?
i dont get it
Larry Li monsters inc
Forte Piano Randall is amazing
That was one of the mosy motivational compositions.
Im glad to say that I played this. 😄

2:03 is such a beautiful part
We played this once for an All Region thing once! I played Vibraphone 😊
My Marine Corps band played bits and pieces of this as part of a concert series four years ago.
AWESOME PIECE!
Thank you, Bryan
Randall Standridge I did this piece for my concert, very beautiful, I play the trombone.
Randall Standridge I also did imaginarium and angelic celebrations, you create such beautiful music
Randall Standridge just found out that you are helping write my schools marching band music! East Noble? I can not wait.
Beginning hymn sounds like be still my soul without the break and no resolution.
I dream to play this one day
I'm a flutist (:
as the flute who got the solo for this, it is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful piece to play
I love the music❤
This is quite a fun song. Very powerful part for the low reeds/low brass. I play the bari sax.
This piece at 1.5x speed sounds awesome.
The beginning clarinet part sounds like the fast tempo of the song
It’s such a beautiful piece but I can’t stop thinking it’s funny that the theme is wind turbines

Plz- I needa beg my dad to let us do this in Symphonic band(he’s my band director… it’s a weird dynamic, ik)
The first thing I thought when our director played this was, WHY does this sounds like Hymn of Axium. Then why does it sound so Disney
Isabella Aguiar l-/ I know right it’s sounds Disney
