Without this video, I would have no idea how this fastener is attached to the hood. Thanks for posting!

Any specifics on this "molded lightweight material"? What is it? ABS plastic, Nylon GF reinforced, Carbon, Aluminum? There's no details on the website and it's the only question that comes to mind

its plastic a high grade abs, but abs plastic non the less. the carbon ones maybe be different, but if you have alot of air going in your engine bay these will break. also video is misleading as the flush ones you still need screws so it doesnt look flush at all and then you also lose the flange sitting above to help structure all the bolt holes you just made around a really big hole, lol

How does the PLUS flush version bolt on. I couldnt see any screws. I understand this setup differs from the other version that has screws running from above. Just needed an explanation before i purchased.

It says on the vid that it needs to be bonded and you can clearly see that it's glue to the bonnet

I wouldnt use the version that goes mounted from under for a hood. Use the top mount style. Its not worth it because its more flush. Also make sure they are authentic aerocatch because they are many fakes that are weak and break apart. I purchased the extreme version which is steel vs aluminum for peace of mind and durability. Im gonna use it for a carbon hood. I paid $ 80.00 on ebay. So dont go cheap on how you secure the hood or else.

Does it matter which way the latches are turned?

After market hoods. Because been made from different materials and are much lighter, it is really possible to see your hood shaking and probably leave the car in high speeds.

Or engine swap or radiator swap situations where the factory hood latch is no longer present/ can't be present.

Certain race classes require these kinds of pin latches because of the speeds they run and factory latches can come undone and that could be distasterous. They're also pretty cool.

Then there others who want to clean up the engine bay and decide to remove the factory latch bolts cable and interior latch altogether to remove weight and secure their custom hood with these. And they look good, so why not. These are the ones that customise their cars. Others with stock cars are driving ordinary cars.
