    • @OCDaddyZsolt
      @OCDaddyZsolt  3 года назад

      Hi, yes, you have to remove the HDD and put an SSD to its place (similar how it is done in this video). If you have a Windows installer and the Windows product/registration code, you can re-install a fresh Window (some Lenovo models offer the creation of a recovery disc creation), otherwise you can try to clone your existing HDD to an SSD, but then you need an external enclosure to connect it to your laptop.
      Usually I buy Kingston SSDs nowadays, but there are many good brands, like Sandisk, Samsung, Intel, OCZ, Crucial. Some of those are rather overpriced though, don't go for the top of the pop ones, as they are not as much faster as.more they cost. You will see a massive increase in the speed with just the standard value range as well.

      It is not automatic. Search for "windows media creation tool" and download it from Microsoft directly. That will help you to create a genuine W10 installer. Then you have to boot tge PC with the new SSD from that W10 installer. Of course, you will need your W10 product key also, which is usually on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop, or top of the PC.

      They won't disappear literally, the files will be on your HDD that you removed. You install a new OS to the laptop, now with the SSD in, then when finished, can put the old HDD in a USB, external HDD rack, connect to the PC and can copy the files over. Or alternatively there are different software available to clone a drive. Then you clone first (but need an external HDD rack yet) and when done, switch the drive.
