Sorry if this a dumb reply but if the sample is C then whatever MIDI he writes will be at the correct note, and he said that A was a nice sweet spot with good low end

So it’s not wide and also if the Tom had the left and right channels out of phase we avoid summing up both sides

Cleaner vs summing left and right down. Just one side. Works best when using Wide Hassed sounds to mono
