people have just spent too much time in the WILD universe- BOTW was such a juggernaut and it dominated zeldadom (the zelda world) for so long, when totk came out and it was set in that very same world, people lost interest sooner than they would have. My first play of totk was the best gaming experience i have ever had, i dumped nearly 300 hours into that game and loved every second- the best ending to any game i have ever played. When i finished the game however, unlike botw where i immediately started and played it right to the finish again; i haven't touched totk.. with botw twice and then hyrule warriors, i was well over 500 hours and nowi have spent nearly 1000 hours in that world- nothing can keep up with that level of scrutiny. If TOTK has any "issues" it is only in so far as BOTW was such a good game that people played it so much and it was so ubiquitous.
I was already happy to click on a Zelda Discussion video, but AQUATIC TIME FROM SONIC RIDERS ZERO GRAVITY TOO? That’s a gamer editing right there, great video!
Saw your peak video and have been watching back through your videos, and I gotta say that I love your use of the sonic rider's games for background music. I can't tell if you use both games' soundtrack, but MAN do both of them slap. People need to stop sleeping on both those soundtracks. Zero gravity gameplay makes me sleep, but the music keeps me alive
This video is formatted really well and the message is good. Didn't even realize till the end this is a small channel like mine. Pretty cool but deserves more attention for sure.
I think the reason people complain is because they have not learned to temper their expectations. Nobody will ever make a thing as exactly as amazing as you think it'll be in your head. I am blown away at TotK and it's my favorite game of all time now. I've put in over 1,000 hours into it and still love it and can't put it down! The truth is that most Zelda games are masterpieces and each is unique on purpose. I think it's almost like trying to rank your kids, they're all special and you love each one. The Legend of Zelda is an amazing series! Its unmatched in the industry, sure there are other amazing game series but none that seem to have been given the true reverence that each mainline entry has. You can tell when you're playing the game that Nintendo was very serious about making the most solid game they could when they were making it. And that goes for every single-player official Zelda game. The multiplayer ones are not bad, they just don't seem to hold that same sense of respect for the material. I also think that it's just popular to hate on things and after the next main Zelda game releases most of the TotK haters will magically have always loved it. I mean Aonuma said ultra hand will not be a mechanic going forward, people will bitch about is absence even though he's said this.
I’m with you bro, twilight princess and wind wake are my favourite Zelda games, and I’m playing totk for a second time and it’s amazing how much shit I missed the first time round. It is a great game, and they’ve taken it in a great direction. The two things (as a Zelda fan) that I never really liked about totk is minimal use of proper dungeons and the fact that there has never been a sequel to a Zelda game before. When they released zelda games in the past they were all completely separated from the one that came before (ok majoras mask but it’s a completely different game from oot)
@@richiemolina8135Zelda 2, Link's Awakening, Majora's Mask, the Oracles, Wind Waker itself was also a sequel, Four Swords Adventures, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, A Link Between Worlds. Twilight Princess is also debatably a direct sequel like Wind Waker although it is not as blunt, and A Link to the Past, Minish Cap, and Skyward Sword are in weird spots because they are direct *prequels* as opposed to sequels, so related but different.
For me, we spent too much time in botw hyrule now. On the third time, I still the new stuff is fun, but everything in between, like most of the exploration of the world, is boring cause on the third time, I'm not exploring anymore. Hyrule is my ends now 😂 most of the world and depths are still the same which is the main issue i think. Same thing happens over and over, even the sages telling the history lol
so funny the 3 hour retrospective videos about totk like you said. so true. you search for botw retrospectives and it's all about how it's the best game ever, search for totk and it's all negative. silly
For me , the reason why TOTK fumbled as a sequel is that, like BOTW, it made exploration the main hook to the game, except all of the exploration is even more repetitive and tedious than BOTW. The first 5 hours of totk were godlike, but once you realize that the extent of all the “remixed” content and it’s rewards, exploring the overworks feels like a chore. I tried to like the depths but man it’s just so annoying LOL and the things you find are just not that cool. And literally the whole sky that everyone was looking forward to is the worst of the 3. I wish totk would’ve put more effort into the established lore and story of botw and build upon it, as well as going harder with the dungeons and the quest lines. I was perfectly happy with the idea of “botw but with real dungeons and story with some sky integrated”. But I feel like you can’t capture that same BOTW magic unless you just make an entirely new map. And lastly, I wish they would’ve evolved the combat more besides just adding more quirky weapons. Or at least give more animations or moves. I love twilight princess and wind walkers combat so much cause of the flow you could get in
@@iyaguex I play a bunch of games, Totk is the best one i've played in close to a decade though. Maybe consider playing it and you'll understand why i'm right.
Bruh, Im sorry, but TOTK isnt even close to a 10, or a 9.5 or a 9 or even an 8. It has some of the most ridiculous and baffling game design decisions I have ever seen in my life and almost every new mechanic theyve added clashes with other systems set up in the game. This has nothing to do with having too high standards, but everything to do with the fact that we got a game that feels like it waas made by amateurs and industry newbies. All I wanted was botw with most of its numerous issues ironed out, instead I got botw with more content, and proportionally more problems. This game is the essence of quantity over quality.
Triforce Heroes goes so hard with friends tho. Especially the thumbs up emote lol
Valid.

I feel you on that, the point is just so blown out of proportion sometimes though. Really makes you think about it.

Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword are my favorites.
From a game development perspective TOTK is revolutionary. They took the multiplicative gameplay of BOTW to the ultimate
You deserve more views and subs

Zelda II and Link's Awakening are direct sequels
@@zacharyolerich7521 yeah but I’m talking about blockbuster titles. The big open world games we’ve come to know and love from Zelda
