And most of all the being molested by an uncle on his 32nd birtday. baldness, fatness, divorce ensued. His wife didnt understand why he just didnt say no.
It's amazing what 25+ years of work will do. You can already see his talent, but his timing and material have improved immeasurably. Today he would use half or even a third of the number of jokes in the same time, and he would make each one hit.
It's nice seeing him this young because at that phase he seemed a lot more down to my level, whereas today his material is so brilliant and his delivery so adept that I scarcely have an idea what he does to develop it.
This PROVES that everyone starts somewhere..His delivery and stage presence has gotten SO much better not to mention his over all skill. Follow your dreams people!
You can tell he was really influenced by Seinfeld early on, but tried to add a "whacky" element to it. He took so many years to find his own style, but he eventually nailed it.
yup, this guy is a total hack. maybe the most unfunny person alive, he will never make anything of himself and will probably die alone in a gutter somewhere.
This is awesome. What's cool is the reason he's better now is not the material, but just mainly down to composure, timing, delivery, cadence, patience... Stuff like that.
It really is! I mean what the fuck! Did the camera operator secretly unlock the secrets of time travel and procure a state of the art camera rig from 1993?
Louis ck is such a legend he used to speak too fast now he can pause for 5sec, tell people Not to applause whenever he wants to, confidence comes with experience and smashing shows . Well deserved !
Crazy how this was before his prime, and now that he's legendary he performs the SAME EXACT WAY just more refined! This guy had it figured out way back when!
It’s crazy how bad comedians are in the beginning. Standup is so different from being funny in conversation. Nothing about this is funny. Yet this guy became best comedian to ever do it.
Why do you feel none of this is funny? Not arguing, just curious. I feel that a lot of what he said was funny, though it wasn't nearly as polished as his newer stuff. Just want your thoughts, thanks
Wait, you want to tell me that Louis C.K. was not already born as balding, fat, middle aged man? Next you will want to tell me that Morgan Freeman was young once.
Not that anyone cares, but the "Shhhh" sound developed because when an infant cries it responds to white noise. "Shhhhh" is the best white noise humans can make and it was always used to quiet a crying infant. Eventually it expanded to be used to shush everyone. Again, not that anyone cares, but there ya go.
This should be a lesson to everyone exactly how hard it is and how long it takes to become an awesome comic like he is today. I think a lot of people think funny people just get up on stage and riff because they are that brilliant
+Karl-Erlend Mikalsen I always pause a shitty youtube video to see if anyone else has the same opinion in the comments. And you took the words right out of my mouth.
His audience lure game is on its own level. His improve game is out of this world with perfect delivery, some of his live recorded shows will show those moments of his pure genius
I've only known Louis CK as "an older guy." And whenever I hear his self-loathing over his appearance, while funny, I still think, "aww, he's too hard on himself." But, then you see what he actually used to look like, and then I think, "Hoy shit, he wasn't kidding."
He is making me smile and chuckle. I actually think it is pretty good. It is the 80s, too. Goes with the times. Amazing confidence and delivery even when young.
It's interesting, I've seen him do that sign language joke many years later when he was doing a set and there was a sign language interpreter. He's had that joke locked and loaded since at least 1988. Wow.
It's like a video I saw of Dave Chappelle when he was first starting out, you really appreciate how much time and work it took for these guys to develop their individual styles and hit their stride. The early stuff can be cringeworthy.
There's too much confidence and energy in his act. Needs more divorce and kids.
Lmao
Comedy RED PILLS...
And most of all the being molested by an uncle on his 32nd birtday. baldness, fatness, divorce ensued. His wife didnt understand why he just didnt say no.
He actually got even funnier after borderline quitting comedy after the masturbation incident.
Yes, way too enthusiastic.
It's like watching a teenager do a Louis CK impression. Pretty good, kid!
He was 21 FYI
this is incredibly good quality for 1988... amazing upload, thanks for sharing.
+Kaka carrot cake the super sand lesbian what a name
+Kaka carrot cake the super sand lesbian what do you mean virginia!?
hmph, well kaka krabby patty in just a few more episodes namak will explode
defeating a sandwich only makes it tastier.
You are most welcome...glad you enjoyed.
You can tell Louis Ck's comedy eventually got much better after he got 20 years of depressing life experience
+MatthewLedZepfan lol, so true
Yeah and from becoming fat and hairy
It also evolved. The culture of comedy changes over time. This standup has a kindof Seinfeld tyoe feeling to it, which makes sense.
I won't be surprised if he kills himself
+Senih Okuyucu (sunny) I doubt it he loves his kids too much
THIS is why you never quit
+Thefourth4iv2 He was good....
+Jake Gravad ehh
It's amazing what 25+ years of work will do. You can already see his talent, but his timing and material have improved immeasurably. Today he would use half or even a third of the number of jokes in the same time, and he would make each one hit.
Look how fresh he looks. So uplifting and positive. Life tought some hard lessons.
+Pēteris Tārs what are you talking about... this is 1988.. 28 years is a lot to add onto someone.
+ddstar Umm you mean 28 years.
Kush Fiend yup
Yeah, if you work hard you'll become super successful even if you stumble sometimes.
He's wearing a overcoat and cufflinks. Who is this?! Not the Louie I know.
It's nice seeing him this young because at that phase he seemed a lot more down to my level, whereas today his material is so brilliant and his delivery so adept that I scarcely have an idea what he does to develop it.
He gave insight on this when he honored George Carlin after he died
This makes me scared to know what I'll look like in 20 years.
+davidhanlefilms This is almost 30 years ago and he is 20 here. He does not look that different from the mid 90s now.
You get to work on that today, though. You are what you put in your body. :)
He looks better now in my opinion.
If you are white you should be scared. But black don't crack
Amazing how much funnier he is now. Quite inspiring to see how much improvement is possible.
One of the greatest in the development stage, we should all note this moment and remind ourselves our best moments take time to develop
This PROVES that everyone starts somewhere..His delivery and stage presence has gotten SO much better not to mention his over all skill. Follow your dreams people!
I adjusted the playback to 75% speed and it's more Louie now
Thank you!! I’ve noticed his old stuff is much more rushed, I didn’t know how to fix it but this is great
Spot on lmao
Set the speed 0.75x and he sounds like today’s Louis CK.
😂😂
Holy fuccccc ur a legend
nice, this is much better.
All of a sudden it's much better...
Legend!!! U soo right
You can tell he was really influenced by Seinfeld early on, but tried to add a "whacky" element to it.
He took so many years to find his own style, but he eventually nailed it.
Yeah, that 'shhhh' part totally made me think of jerry.
YourPalHDee maybe Seinfeld copied off of him?
I wonder why Louis doesn't joke about buying a hairbrush anymore
Because he can't share hair anymore
@@CharlieTooHuman lmao I know that reffrence
Because people are too sensitive nowadays.
Beats me
It's like he had to get his soul crushed to learn comedy.
+Distortion0 If you want to be great at something there are two rules: 1. Don't Stop and 2. Keep going.
Evan J Look em straight in the eye and shoot straight from the heart.
This is a perfect example of someone who didn’t give up, no matter what.
👍
I know you're trying to be nice and inspiring, but it kinda makes you sound like a dick😂
Oh my god. This is like from a parallel universe, where Louis CK is in shape and has hair. It's so bizarre. I can't even
I mean like shiiiiiit, dude was doing comedy before I was even BORN. 2spooky5me
I mean like shiiiiiit, dude was doing comedy before I was even BORN. 2spooky5me
+J.A. Brown I can't connect this face to the face I saw a couple minutes ago
*****
that's exactly how i felt
yikes... this guy has no future in comedy
Haha
Lmao dumbass!! He's only one of the funniest comedians to ever do it
+cjb cjb ur iq is low
yup, this guy is a total hack. maybe the most unfunny person alive, he will never make anything of himself and will probably die alone in a gutter somewhere.
'The other day I went to buy a hairbrush' - he would never say that now lol
You don't hairbrush your pubes?
I'm afraid knot ;P
It’s amazing how much he has improved and fine tuned his delivery over the yaers
Yeah he really perfected his stroke.
He's developed and refined so much. Very inspiring
Watch on 0.75 speed to hear how Louis sounds now
holly...
Searched the whole comments section to see if no one else commented this. Beat me to it bro
This is awesome. What's cool is the reason he's better now is not the material, but just mainly down to composure, timing, delivery, cadence, patience... Stuff like that.
He's much funnier now that life has beaten the ever loving shit out of him.
This right here. Never give up on your dreams, and never stop getting better.
This makes me have hope for how much funnier I can be in the future.
just get married have two kids and get a divorce lol
And uglier...
man that is one visually clear video from 1988...
it is a shockingly clean picture.
It really is! I mean what the fuck! Did the camera operator secretly unlock the secrets of time travel and procure a state of the art camera rig from 1993?
+LittleJohnCrofford it could've been remastered. You know how they take old movies and make them HD.
+christian cravens For those who are interested/care about this stuff, the video was digitized off of the original 3/4" Umatic tape.
+TheBillGonzalez that was cool to know. Thanks man.
It’s amazing how much he’s improved. Props to him for sticking with it and becoming one of the greats
Louis ck is such a legend he used to speak too fast now he can pause for 5sec, tell people Not to applause whenever he wants to, confidence comes with experience and smashing shows . Well deserved !
Thank you so much to who put this up.
+Talyta Barcelos You are most welcome.
As a big Louis C.K. fan, I didn't need to watch this
I can't even finish watching this and I like Louie CK
+Daniel Filippus for real
Crazy how this was before his prime, and now that he's legendary he performs the SAME EXACT WAY just more refined! This guy had it figured out way back when!
Proof that everyone has to start somewhere!
This feels like one of Louis fever dreams
This guy is gonna make it big one day.
wow - he's come so far! People don't realize how much time, work and persistence it takes to become a master in the arts!
@@shignificent firstly he talks so fast and he is not get into stories or talk about some topic
just givin some observations.
This is proving Tragedy+Time=Comedy
louis ck was once different, but now he is as he is now
^ Fact.
Man. You can totally tell Jerry Seinfeld was a huge influence on him
I love Louis! He is my favorite comedian after Carlin and definitely biggest celebrity crush. Come back Louis we miss you!!!
Wait, you want to tell me that Louis C.K. was not already born as balding, fat, middle aged man? Next you will want to tell me that Morgan Freeman was young once.
Morgan Freeman has been 61 years old since 1988. How dare you.
This kid's going places. Mark my words.
OMG If you play it at .5 speed it sounds like him today.
Your comment made in onto what's trendings video on this
Seems like he didn't change his basic formula but rather just learned to slow down and be more confident
The funnier he got the balder he got. ONE PUNCH LINE MAN
This comment 😆
This goes to show u that comedy is a grind because this sucks and now he's a legend
He's definitely come a long way.
+HeadHunter you can say that again
Good news is nigga ya came along away, the bad news is nigga ya went the wrong way, think being broke waa betta
+Csanad Csanad He's definitely come a long way.
I think he's the best comedian alive today, he obviously practiced alot since 1988
I never imagined Louie to be young, but I'm not disappointed.
It’s crazy how much his comedy has changed over the years
It’s like looking into an alternate universe...like it’s him but it’s not...
this shows the power of hard work.
Well, he doesn't have to buy hairbrushs anymore.
Wow this is inspirational. He is now an idol of some of the best stand-up comedians today.
+Shrigis I care.
+Shrigis i care too, thanks for the knowledge
Thanks, guys.
+Shrigis You're a dumbass... People were hushing long before electronics existed. SSSSSHHHHHHHHHH
GZA036 What do electronics have to do with anything?
This is so precious! I was ten days old when it aired!
Thank God he got better at it... the Boston accent is cute tho
Louis been in comedy since the great depression and I can't find anything I haven't seen before
If someone were to show me this I wouldn't know who it is, and I love Louis C.K.
Pretty interesting how slower and controlled and more confident his delivery is now
It's amazing to witness the beginning of such a genius career. Amazing upload thank you!
You are most welcome...
So comedy is inversely proportional to the amount of hair you have.
Damn young Louie was pretty slick in those days, I've only seen old Louis before this. Time is a crazy thing.
Completely different comedian from now, his voice, pacing, everything
he has new material.
Not to mention his facial gestures lol that’s half the joke sometimes.
Believe it or not, this guy will win an Emmy one day.
Wow! He's come a LONG way... :)
It's incredible how much he actually improved over the time. And I dare to say this is one of his better performances from those times.
Oh my god. This is kind of insane. He was so bad and now he might be the best comedian ever. Crazy.
This should be a lesson to everyone exactly how hard it is and how long it takes to become an awesome comic like he is today. I think a lot of people think funny people just get up on stage and riff because they are that brilliant
He was 21 here....
That's...he's....hes not allowed to be young? He was always 40!
Things young louie ck will never do:
Give you up
Let you down
Turn around
Desert you
Dude it's 2021.. Shut the fuck up
its nice seeing this guy before he found his voice.... man, the 80s ^^
your voice gets deeper the more confident you are in your act
Thanks for finding out and uploading!
You are most welcome...
Holy shit he's improved.
+Karl-Erlend Mikalsen I always pause a shitty youtube video to see if anyone else has the same opinion in the comments. And you took the words right out of my mouth.
+redherring i dont even pause
he he he
thx for uploading this! how great to see him so young in such a good quality :D
Holy shit he looks young as hell
+Rupert Cornholio no shit fuckface this was 1988
+Rupert Cornholio Because he's only 19 or 20 here.
He would've been 21
So cool. This is so incredibly terrible that it makes him even cooler later in his career
32 year old video uploaded 4 years ago and suddenly now our overlord RUclips algorithm brought us all together again
It’s weird how some people basically look and sound the same their whole life. Then you’ve got guys like this
He’s one of the funniest comedians of all time. Once he learned how to work the crowd and control the comedic pause it was a wrap.
His audience lure game is on its own level. His improve game is out of this world with perfect delivery, some of his live recorded shows will show those moments of his pure genius
this is beyond amazing thanks for the post!
You are most welcome...
I've only known Louis CK as "an older guy." And whenever I hear his self-loathing over his appearance, while funny, I still think, "aww, he's too hard on himself." But, then you see what he actually used to look like, and then I think, "Hoy shit, he wasn't kidding."
This was great it shows where he came from makes u appreciate him now even more cuz he has evolved so much
Life made him soo much better
He is making me smile and chuckle. I actually think it is pretty good. It is the 80s, too. Goes with the times. Amazing confidence and delivery even when young.
Young Louis C K talked too fast. I turned the speed down to 0.75. Somehow it makes the bit much better.
Lmao I thought you were joking. It actually does
😃😂😂🤣👍thanks bud
Timing.
It's interesting, I've seen him do that sign language joke many years later when he was doing a set and there was a sign language interpreter. He's had that joke locked and loaded since at least 1988. Wow.
comedians telling jokes more than once. i know. Wow.
He got a lot better
It's almost like working at your craft for 30+ years makes you better
Lou's unstoppable, so shit on him while you can. He'll be back!!
Merkaba he will be back better than ever. I love Louis he’s my favorite comedian I don’t care about his sexual problems.
It's like a video I saw of Dave Chappelle when he was first starting out, you really appreciate how much time and work it took for these guys to develop their individual styles and hit their stride. The early stuff can be cringeworthy.
He's delivery and timing has gotten a lot better over the years
He has really gotten more relaxed on stage 😂
TheHouseOffice have you watched his new special
He's 21 here.. but he kinda looks like he's 28 or 29. no wonder he looked 50 when he was 40.
That's a really big break at the star of his career to be interviewed by Mick Jagger.
Best I`ve seen so far and the earliest too, brilliant!
“Earliest”? Hold my beer... Louis C.K. | July 11, 1988
ruclips.net/video/NYFtqmQjZEw/видео.html
I laughed my ass off at the sign language joke. No else in the audience did
Just goes to show that he was the smart and funny guy from day one. His comedy evolved naturally as he got older but he was sweet even back then.
