Last week's Melbourne vs Cats match had those teams cooked! Both were getting thumped this round and had massive comebacks to get within single digits in the end. I can't believe Geelong were down 50 points at one point, and had 50 scored against them Q1!
CMON POWER!!!!! LET'S.... BLOODY... GOOOOOOO!
First win at the house of horrors since 2007
Damage was done in the first half for the Cats obviously, a good attempt at the fight back but you can’t be 7 goals down at half time, especially at home. On a side note, two dreadful calls watching those last two minutes- not playing advantage at Cameron’s goal and calling a throw when the Port player clearly punts it up and out on the full 😂🤦♂️ where are they getting these umpires?!
Advantage isn’t allowed to be paid when the out of zone umpire is the one that pays the free kick. The closest umpire to butters called play on and the one 30m away paid holding the ball. It’s not allowed to be advantage. And I'll add that the ball was kicked to a pack in the goal square. There is zero clear advantage in that situation
if you think that Cameron goal was advantage you have rocks in your head
Cameron shouldn't even have been on the ground after his head knock.... hopefully the afl question that decision like they did the Allir call last year. But probably not. And if I was a Geelong supporter, I wouldn't be whinging about the umpiring.
@@mabiorcholappreciationpage I’m not talking about a different umpire playing advantage, I’m not even talking about the advantage being called when Cameron gets hold of the ball. The umpire who calls the free kick can clearly see the Geelong player IN HIS ZONE intentionally playing on after the free is called- that’s the moment he should’ve called advantage. Irrelevant if you think there’s no advantage to be had in that situation- the Geelong player played on and made that choice- you see umpires calling advantage all the time when players do that and there’s apparently no advantage to be had. It’s on the players to stop if they want the free, if they play on after hearing a call it should advantage, pretty simple.
@@TotalDramaOwenandNoah lay off the crack pipe mate😁
I can’t wait to see Port get ahead of themselves again, re-sign Hinkley then go out in straight sets 😂
They may win at least 1 final on average.
Would've loved to see both teams score over 100 points. Was not paying advantage the right call or not? I'll let all of you decide.
Melbourne & Geelong losing to Collingwood & Port Adelaide respectively are exercises, for the other clubs, in how to peg back a substantial lead after a bad start. I doubt the two losing coaches would be too worried about getting beaten. It showed what Melbourne & Geelong are made of.
Huh? They both had terrible periods in their respective games and Carlton/Port deserved their victories. Alarm bells should be ringing for both Demons and Cats.
@@DV-zv4ox Not really. There was only a kick in it in the end. Melbourne & Geelong just have to be more pro-active early in the match so that teams won't get the jump on them.
@@kufujitsu sounds like 🧂 to me
@DV-zv4ox Depends on how we look at it. If Melbourne & Geelong had terrible periods, what about Carlton & Port Adelaide? They gave up substantial leads and almost lost....
are you saying that clubs won't try and tag stewart in the next few weeks ? 8th challenging 2nd place on the cats home deck of course they were going to come home strong , scott was out coached early and by the time they ajusted it was to late.
I’m not worried about Geelong we had 1 bad game and 1 bad quarter we will still be top 4
Im port i wouldnt worry either (top 4 easy this year) , having said that with the players we have out i cant believe we went to kardinia and won this no one wins down there lol
@@Richo-dm8ws “Top 4 easy” he says 😂 It’s a real tight competition, Port are no lock, but definitely a chance as they are (usually) a high quality team tho. I see Sydney, Geelong, and Melbourne all making top 4, with Port competing with Carlton, GWS, and the aforementioned teams. Beating Geelong at Kardinia is a massive feat. Usually only top sides win there (not bulldogs last year lol)
@@gwilkes5325 I honestly thin if greeny gets his act together GWS will be hard to beat this year, im port i want them to win just know it wont happen this year - just wait 2-3 more years when jasonhorne francis goes then we might (wishful thinking)
@@gwilkes5325 ps i meant geelong were top 4 - thanks for assuming u know me though like wow
@@Richo-dm8ws How could I ever figure that with what your comment said? You said “I’m port I wouldn’t worry (top 4 easy)” and NOT “I’m port I wouldn’t worry (Geelong finish top 4 easy) Like huh? 😂
For the first time since 2007, Port take down the cats at GMHBA ending a losing streak of 9 consecutive games against the cats at the venue.
Ports previous woes at GMHBA:
2023 vs Cats (97-85)
2022 vs Cats (82-47)
2017 vs Cats (81-79)
2013 vs Cats (129-104)
2012 vs Cats (99-61)
2011 vs Cats (122-43)
2010 vs Cats (159-64)
2009 vs Cats (122-88)
2008 vs Cats (108-49)
Average losing margin in that time: Roughly 42 points
Pathetic in the first half
Umps save the day for port by not calling advantage and forgetting holding the ball exists throughout the game
Nope, the umpire blew the whistle before he kicked the ball, and at that point there’s no way the umpire knew what would happen next, it was a 50/50 call, I honestly thought it was advantage when I first saw it, but the umpire had no idea what would happen.
Whistle was blown before the ball was even kicked lmao. Sounds like 🧂 to me
Take your meds. You absolutely schizophrenic 😂
Plus Geelong still would’ve been behind?
Woohoo
umps couldnt save geelong this time
Who cares
Won't be able to save the weezles against the pies
Says an Eagles fan
SUPPORT JUSTIN
As we are in the process of rebuilding, we are 7-2 at the start of the year, with the two losses being just 8 points and 6 points, can your team do that, oh that's right you barrack for West Coast, sorry
Thanks for rioli eagles haha.
Mate...win a premiership then you can say haha...youve bern sht for 2 decades and your coach is an absolute dickhd.
He cleared played on, why would you bring it back? The umps would of paid that free any day of the week
The AFL needs new umps it was clear out on the full and the bloody umps called it a throw in and caused Geelong to lose
Boundary ump had the best angle possible and made the right decision. You can't say it was clearly out on the full when you're watching from the perspective of a TV camera placed on the opposite side of the ground
Im not supporter of those team. I have seen numerous time that umpires over the years allowed Vic team can run outside the boundary and non vic team hhmmm. Pretty bias. The ump standard was a jokes. Geelong shd have lost by 4 or 5 goals. Sounds a double standard awarded 100 metres goal what jokes
Setting aside the obvious issues, are you sure they would have won? It still would have been an inside 50 against two spare behind with 1 min left and a goal needed to tie.
@@mabiorcholappreciationpage it was pretty clear that its was
Can’t wait for the “Geelong were robbbed” comments because they didn’t get their usual 10+ more free kicks than the opposition 😢
this is the first game this year that we got more frees than the other team, educate yourself before you comment such BS
A bittersweet victory for Port supporters as it confirms they do not have a team that can compete against the best. Despite having a 8 goal lead near half-time they couldn’t quell Geelong’s momentum in the second-half. Port lack depth, mental toughness or a sustainable plan b. Luck shouldn’t be the sole reason you win, especially when you’re in a commanding position.
Bro 3rd string ruck no captain and 5 changers this week and that’s on top of the other injuries. I think it’s time for you to go to bed
Hahahaha a win somehow confirms that? Kidding ya self
what are you yapping about. Port won. Port literally have a team that beat the best
Your kidding pies beat you by 42 points and at the time weren't at there best when you can beat the pies and that's when then you your comment might be taking seriously
@@josephhughes3199 Yes, it’s a reoccurring theme. A fade out which confirms Port are a weak team. How is winning by a small margin, when you’re in a position to win convincingly? As soon as Geelong clicked into gear Port had no answers.
Weak as piss Geelong. Not as good as you thought yas were
We were shocking in the first half. No effort at all.
@@GCB23NathanAbramoff I know. Unforgivable
As we are in the process of rebuilding, we are 7-2 at the start of the year, with the two losses 8 points and 6 points, can your team do that.
@@kevinohara2618 You are overreaching. Cats have only played 3 teams in the top 8 and lost to 2 of them. They are overrated.
Cats have an easy draw. I have said this before and I shall say again.
The team on top will not win the gf this year as you cant argue against law of averages and law of averages show that the last 3 flags have been won by the team finishing on top. The team that finishes on top will not win the flag this year, it will be won by who finishes 2nd or 3rd as 4th spot dont win flags and Cats will most likely finish on top looking at their easy draw playing most of the bottom teams twice.
@freespeechisdead202 I'm not over reaching, I don't expect geelong to win a gf, we are rebuilding, my point is that we can still be good enough to make finals and win many h&a games while we rebuild, most teams struggle to do so while rebuilding
Scott blaming umps for the loss again. He is pathetic. Perhaps actually coach and drop underperforming players like Hawkins
he didnt blame the umps open you ears and you will hear him say the umps are usually right but like any one else they can make mistakes, especially because of the hard job they do, he praised them more than he mentioned there may have been mistakes
Perhaps Hinkley with his mediocre coaching record should worry about coaching rather than acting like a 10 year old. Embarrassing!!
