Did it ruin the game? Well it's a matter of opinion isn't it. For me personally I watched a competitive game of rugby but then I didn't have a dog in the fight so to speak.
For the record I'm not a supporter of the 20min red card proposal.

Except it all happened in an nano second and I didn't hear the referee yell "Tackle" which is generally how it happens across the rugby world. If we want the game refereed to the minutest detail then there is a more of a case for saying the ball was then played by a player in an offside position because the ripped ball appeared to come off the other Northampton player. But that too would be a harsh decision.

Shame to have a red card - I hope it gets turned over as would like to see Beno for England on tour... However, the worst decision of the match surely was making Hendy man of the match after about 13 minutes of total play...
He's a very good player, made a great break but for Saints, Furbank, Slightholm, Freeman and Lawes were way more deserving... Personally, I would have given it to Underhill who for me, was the best player on the day. Spencer was a close second... but would not have begrudged Lawes getting it - fantastic player and a great bloke

As long as the game is there we are going to have head contact. If you are afraid of this get yourself another sport. Another option is to allow the red carded team to bring on one of the subs after 10 mins. The WC was won by a red card. Now this final. I can understand if one player deliberately breaks the law like throwing a punch if he is red carded. But this was in the general play. You have a split second to decide. Perhaps make it a double yellow..20 mins of the field.

Cheers mate for that waffle. World Cup was decide by 2 missed kicks at goal. Bath were ahead with 10 mins to go so clearly it didn’t decide this game either. I would be up for a 20 minute red card like in super rugby but the main point is that is an absolute clear and blatant red by Obano, and actually no, head contact is not to be accepted in the game if it is avoidable. This was clearly avoidable if Obano improved his technique and went lower, so it is a red card but if you want a load of CTEs and problems once your 60 then go play league and get your head whacked in mate, even more than it clearly has been already
