This heals my inner child. 🌼 Growing up in predominantly white schools I felt pressured to straighten my hair in order too fit in. One day my, freshman year of high school I decided to wear my hair naturally and a girl walked up to me and said “what happened to your hair it looks like it got electrocuted?!” And laughed. I wish I had someone like you sitting behind me in class admiring my natural hair…that would’ve been so validating. 🥰👑
Same exact experience here, even the electrocution remark! Or the “Did your blow dryer blow up?”. I’ve also had more offensive words thrown at me A LOT. Years ago our natural kinky curls weren’t in the picture as much as now. There were no curly girl insta’s or RUclips videos with naturals owning up their hair. Most Caucasian’s would always see colored women in media with weaves/wigs/chemically straightened hair, so when they saw our hair in a natural state it was a shock to them. To normalize something it requires people to get exposed to it long enough/often enough, otherwise it remains a peculiar novelty to them.
You aren’t alone. I went to predominantly white schools. I used to get dress coded for my natural hair or braids because it was deemed an extravagant hairstyle, I got pulled by the headmaster who said I looked unkept for have two cornrows in. I damaged my hair so badly it still hasn’t recovered. I hope you are doing ok. ❤️
Ha, oh people thinking my curls aren't real happened to me way too many times. I was asked once if it was a wig... she proceeded to pull on my hair and walk away muttering how sure she was when it didn't come off. Also, straightening it works until I come outside and there's water in the air... Then it's POOF, curls.
Okay, wtf?! That was so disrespectful! And so what if you actually were wearing a wig, though? She just wanted to pull it off?? In public????? You must have a super kind face because doing that kind of thing is a surefire way to get your ass kicked where I come from, so I'm really shocked (and sorry) that someone did that to you! SO MUCH TINGLES!🥰
I never had many friends growing up so these videos make me feel so included. 🥰
I love this girl in the back of the classroom series but I’ve quickly noticed a lot of asmrists have also started doing the same even the little gossip thing but you don’t make it about gossip I love the different hair playing that’s my favourite asmr & some asmris are making it all about far to much gossip rather than the hair roll plays & it’s killing it 🙈 I love watching your hair videos it’s so tingly & gets me straight to sleep so thanks 🙏 for that eda & you always whisper when you’re talking whereas others don’t it’s meant to help you relax & sleep not feel like your watching a tv drama 🤣
As a mixed teenage girl I can't stress enough how important represention is, especially as someone who's struggled with their identify thank you so much!!
omg the tingles I got from the mouth sounds and face touching when she was rubbing the serum in were insane!!
I looooved the sound of your nails against the hair and scratching it ♥️♥️ So pleasant 🥰🥰
This was so relaxing, I’m hoping you can do a outside house tour as well❤️❤️
Yesss, another hairplay video with a different hair type! Loving these.
I never thought I’d learn how to style and care for my hair from an ASMR video but I won’t complain.
EDA!!! this is so relaxing omg i love how you talk and look around as if it’s a real classroom, it’s so relaxing
I absolutely LOVE that you include all hair types its amazing keep going with this series it literally so amazing❤
Thanks for the new personal attention video to start the week, Eda! The inclusivity and confort this relaxing Personal attention series brings never disappoints!💖😴
Yesss we love asmrist that include us beautiful melanin queens in their videos 💕💕
I've been having trouble sleeping lately but your videos make me feel good thank you sending a lot of love !
The iPad pencil tapping and writing sounds + the up close whispering is so relaxing. Hoping you would make a video with just that! 😍😍
I always love when u did this type of vid bcz:
1. The tinglesss urghhh i love it 😍
2. THE TEA 🤫☕
I love this video so much! That hair inspection part just sends me to tingle heaven! I have to play it a few times every time I watch this video
I love that you spill all of the tea. I look forward to all the gossip going on.
Love the writing sounds and hair sounds. I did a few "girl in the back of the class" roleplays back in September/October - but they had eating sounds and were completely different! lol.
You look lovely as always Eda! 🥰 This is very relaxing! ❤❤
I've been watching this videos for a long time now and I've been waiting for this video I'm so happy to see that you've done like different hair types so now people won't feel left out if that makes sense lol and this is my hair type!!
I love when she just play with your hair
These forever relax me, THANK YOU QUEEN 😻
I love your videos especially with all these different hair types! Could you possibly do wavy hair? My hair isn't straight but it's not curly either it's wavy!
Yay she liked it!
I’m so happy to see a series that isn’t always blonde straight hair! It’s also so nostalgic of being in school and the girls in the class playing with your hair, it was always so relaxing and fun! ❤️
You're awesome 🥰I love these videos! Thanks for the upload💛
your whispers/mouth sounds are so tingly omggg
