      Not necessarily. It depends on the frequency response of midrange, for exemple on jbl 4311, jbl l100 there's no low pass filter for midrange crossover section.

      @@homemade_audio You need it, to add more resistance because of induction so the more signal will go through Hightone speaker.... Because it's not a mkp capacitor.
      Mkp are very expensive than electrolytic one.
      In crossover we put mkp in the place where it's on serie. And on parallel we put cheep electrolytic caps.
      You can also use non polar electrolytic on parallel no probleme.
      But the place where the sound go through the caps (in series) we must put high quality mkp caps to get good result.

    • @homemade_audio

      - one inductor on series plus cap on parallel after inductor is a second low pass filter.

    • @homemade_audio
      @homemade_audio  2 года назад +3

      No problem. But for this drivers you'll need high power amp , then the crossover to support high power must have a strong components :
      - for capacitors keep the same value of uf but for voltage take 450v or more, for example: 600v 4.7uf instead of 50v 4.7uf.
      For coils: 1mm wire instead of 0.2mm wire, and keep the same number of spears.
      Another important things! Use drivers with the same sensitivity as possible to get flat response in yor speaker.
      Iif not add resistor to the driver who has high sensitivity to reduce his level of sound response.

    Hello. Do You know, why is something burning on my Crossover, after I've put another loudspeaker in?

    • @homemade_audio
      @homemade_audio  2 года назад +1

      Hello. Change a driver by another different one will Change the response of your speaker, but no risk at all!! What will burn your crossover is the high power from amplifier. Drivers and crossover together are designed for a specific limited power . For that reason speaker's manufacturers recommend power of amplifier to use.

      the power accepted by the capacitor depends on their voltage, for this assembly 100v sufficient.

      4.7uf 100v MKP
