To me, it looks like a scaled down version of the Excelsior Class. For the most part, you did a great job on the Lexington Class. Be proud of this model.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios Its one of best versions of this ship I have seen. Though I believe in KA the ship was said to be weaker than standard Excelsior Class. But that mostly because of how insanely over engineered the Excelsior Class was, that Klingon's considered it a Battlecruiser, even though Star Fleet considered Heavy Cruiser.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios another wonderful video from the great tribute this starship is a good design can you please do The spring field class please that's a very interesting ship design keep up the good work live long and prosper
I really appreciate how you always put clear disclaimers for what is from pure canon, beta canon, and fan fiction in your videos. Not to name names but there is certain other trek channels who do not, and are essentially passing off their own OC and fannon theories as canon. Super frustrating.
As someone who isn't a huge fan of the Galaxy Class/D, I would have loved to see something like this as the C, and the Ambassador Class as the hero ship of TNG.
I absolutely love the look and feel of this ship. It is an awesome ship and as usual great story thank you, very much for all the hard work you put in to make these videos into a reality.
That's one of the ships from Klingon Academy, thank very very much. I love that game and the ships in it, since many of them made a lot sense lore wise and filled logical ship class roles that should have existed. Like the the Lexington Command Cruiser or the Okinawa class frigate.
Okinawa frigate was my favorite... so fast and maneuverable... I could take on excelsiors in online play. Ram, torps while the enemy is reeling. Then keep the phasers and torps going above or below.. they can never bring main batteries to bear if you maneuvered right..
Good head on her shoulders, a body that doesnt quit, love the ship design, and the gap of both between Excelsior's speed and the computer core. All around a lot if fun! Great video brother! Keep it up, looks amazing and is a great bit of Star Trek fun! 🖖
The lexiton class should of had a popped out for useage during the dommion war but only upgrades. As all lexiton class needed refits maybe even borrow 2 the od project defiant class 9 warp core double stack linked together. Mostly for redunancy amd maybe to bump speed up to 9.72
This is why I wish CBS/Viacomm would actually do a proper lost century TV series for Star Trek. It doesn't need an Enterprise to be the center of the story. Just about any ship in the early 24th century would be welcome. Especially considering the odd tensions between the UFP and the RSE at the time while the Klingons are still in an ambiguous situation that leaves them too busy to clean up after the Praxis Incident. This really would I think give a bit of missing flavor to the franchise for the time. I mean Strange New Worlds seems to be doing good, I think then doing a pre-TNG show should be a no-brainer then.
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and very well executed and informatively explained in every detail way shape and form provided on this format and subject matter on the Lexington class starship's and of their design and all of their functions and abilities plus about her engine systems and on its weapons systems and shielding and various duties and mission profiles, A job very nicely well done indeed Sir!👌.
That secondary hull pairs perfectly with the Excelsior saucer. Reminds me of one off STO I've paired many times with the Connie saucer. Those nacelles look right out of that time period too. Beautiful all around, great work!
Great job with the narrative you created for it. I will say that I really dig this design. The secondary hull, engines and pylons while looking a little weird they work and it's a good design. An overall great job on her.
Engineers: "Allright, lets start by designing a new saucer." Starfleet: "Nah, that part works just fine, just grab an Excelsior one off the shelf. Its everything else you need to fix." All jokes aside, this design would have made an AMAZING Enterprise-B instead of the modified Excelsior (even though I am a huge fan of the Excelsior class itself). It bridges the gap between the Refit Connie and Ambassador so well.
Impressive model and story. The trek geek in me wants a taller neck and higher nacellles to more closely mirrror the ambassador class. That said I really like the nacelles and secondary hull designs.
Thats right they make it up as we go along... looks great...what was the class of the uss lexington? thats what made me think of the one i thought i heard of... when i saw this video..
A interssting step between the Exelsior and the Ambesador class. The Lexington looks like a smaller Exelsior class its a logical step to the technologie for the 24 century.
One class you can do is the Yamato-class battleship. Granted its a game-only design but its still a late 23rd-century design. Theres also the okinawa and akula classes as well.
She's a beautiful ship very well thought out. The lines work so well for the era the pylons could have been a bit less tapered, but i get why they look how they do given the back story other wise wish this had been a cannon ship showing the transition from excelsior to ambassador and also you can see a bit of Ent-B in those nacelles. Overall bravo good sir
I'm actually building something like this. I went through my old stock of parts and found a bunch of Enterprise B parts. One complete kit but the other was remains of an old failed kitbash (think an Excelsior version of a Nebula). I going to make a squat Excelsior, so no neck, nacelle pylons shortened and centre impulse engines deleted. Going with what I have.
My head cannon for the Excelsior popularity is much like the US Navy and Arliegh Burkes. The Excelsior space frame was over built and spacious to accommodate Transwarp technology and even with the program failure the design itself was ready as a growth-capable platform with spare “tonnage” for technology upgrades. And much now like the Burkes lending influence to the future Constellation class. The Lex and Excelsior fit this really well.
"Starfleet's fleet" sounds better in my head than "Starfleet's Star Fleet". Just my .02 cents. I love the Lexington class. Probably the shortened lifespan as comparted to the Excelsior class comes from it not being "over built" seeing as it wasnt imagined for transwarp stress requirements, that being said, it really could have gone on longer than it did by being upgraded more and strengthened as tech advanced!
This is what should have been the Excelsior! There should have been a shuttle bay in between the impulse drives and impulse drives on the secondary hull. The nacelle pilons looked like a few good shots at the pilons and no warp drive.
I imagined the Lexington as late 23rd century replacement for constitution class and Klingon ship killer given that excelsior was large for the time and expensive and the trans warp project was not looking good but the industrial build up post Klingon war and star fleet liking the excelsior’s durability and impressive capabilities including a large power reserve and as yet unmatched cruising range and the second federation golden age occurring and winding up in the in the same period starfleet and the federation enacting the legacy protocol and with enterprise being the first name and registration number chosen. The final reason why Lexington would never go on despite its place was that it was a heavy cruiser that was basically an excelsior in miniature but excelsior was the new jewel for starfleet and the galaxy was changing
I'm not sure why you'd declare the Ambassador Class a Failure. It was the Galaxy Class of its era. the enterprise C discovered much before it's destruction while I do believe the Galaxy class starship is an awesome design we simply can't discount all that the Ambassador Class did for Starfleet. It's a shame to see the Ambassador get treated so badly lol otherwise Great Video I remember the Lexington from Klingon Academy.
I never liked the secondary hull of the excelsior class (original) the way its bulbous front quickly flattens, only to have a shuttle bay bubble right at the tail end ….. One thing i disagree with is the rather short time line of operation…. When you consider how long the excelsior class model was used in TNG and even in DS9 I do NOT like the idea of its upgraded successor being decommissioned After only four decades. I submit to you the revision that upon the production programs of the galaxy and Nebula this Class was not decommission but rebuilt to be single mission but long duration vessel that focus on the exploration of uncharted but uncontested regions of space with missions focused more on either scientific pursuits and engineering missions like colonization with little concern of either tactical or inter-spacial diplomatic disputes , meawhile their older sisters the excelsior quickly became the drab and rusty bus fleet of starfleet…. Taking people and things from here to there along very tires and worn out routes
Im sorry you disagree, but, as this is my design and my story, the timeline stands! Not all starship classes in Trek, or classes in Real Life, have a long shelf life! And thus, your revision is denied
