  • During the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s tour stop in Germany, English horn and oboe Scott Hostetler, who studied organ as a high school student and had a job as a church organist while he was in college, traveled to Arnstadt to play the mighty Wender organ at Neue Kirche. In 1935, the church name was changed to Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Kirche in honor of the great composer, who served as organist of the church from 1703 to 1707. Enjoy an excerpt of Hostetler’s performance of Bach’s Fugue in C Minor, BWV 582, which likely was composed while Bach served at this church. #CSOonTour
