Thanks for a thorough tutorial. I would like to introduce a new shortcut key that you likely will use a lot .... windows key+V = bring up the clipboard history!

This tutorial was SO well done - best I've ever seen on UTube! Thank you so much for taking your time to do this for us. I still have one glaring unknown for LibreOffice. There is one reason I use Wordpad instead of one of the MS Word substitutes, that is the way an image I paste from the clipboard (put into the clipboard by a clip of a piece of my screen) goes into a document. I kept hoping you would paste an image from the clipboard (without having to name it and save it first, select it, then go up to the menu and "insert" it, and then go back to explorer and delete the file you had to create in order to insert that little clip in the document).
Wordpad just pastes the clip at the cursor, making it's own space for itself by moving anything below it further down the document, just as though you were pasting or typing text. Quick, clean, and easy. Any substitute word processor I've tried does not make space for the clip in the document; if you do not create the space yourself before pasting the clip, it is just plopped down over whatever happens to be at the cursor - image, text, doesn't care. Then you have to try to make space, then move the clip - rearrange everything; it's a mess and an aggravation.
What does LibreOffice do? Is the clip given the space it needs at the cursor by moving everything after the cursor further down in the document, like Wordpad (rtf) does, or does it work like OpenOffice - and make a mess by plopping the clip down right on top of other stuff, if you don't jump through hoops first, preparing space for it in advance? I'm not likely to want to insert FILES into a document. But I frequently make quick, two-click, square or rectangular little screen clips and paste them into a Wordpad document (Ctrl+V). Sometimes these clips don't even correlate to an "image" as defined by a webpage; sometimes it's just a clip of a bit of text, or some text and a picture (or part of a picture), or part of a table. I just want to clip the image I want and paste it in my document. WordPad makes that super-easy, (as does MSWord, if I remember) but OpenOffice makes it a real aggravation. How does LibreOffice handle this?
    Thanks,
    Margaret

I strongly agree with you when you say that you do not need underlines to emphasize your text. When I worked as a typist to learn typesetting, I continued to despise underlining text because the underline would cut through the descender of some lowercase letters, such as "f," "g," "p," etcetera. When I want to emphasize a group of text, I would adjust the weight of text by applying bold and or italics or both; I would even change the point size of the printer fonts, if desired. I see that LibreOffice Writer 7 is feature-oriented. I wonder if it includes Table of Contents, Index, and other reference features. The one thing that impressed me about Writer 7 is that added pictures can be moved at any place on the [electronic] page. Since I am using Microsoft Office 2021, pictures and some images can be inserted where the cursor blinks. Otherwise, Microsoft Publisher gets the job done. It handles many illustrations that can be placed on one page. This tutorial is excellent.

👍 Awesome tutorial thanks so much, learnt so many new things.
🎁 In case its of help to you or anyone watching ur video, in the document where u inserted a table for the later paragraphs; if you go for a 3 cells x 1. then you can play with the width of the middle one, to act as a spacer between the paragraphs. It can sometimes help for clarity reading, #breathing space.
🖌🔤⚠ Just a little tip re using colours, from an accessability point of view not everyone can see or read certain colours, or like myself have dyslexia and if you use colour under important (to you) text, it then means I can't read it.
For anyone creating styles, please only use fancy fonts in the headings, it might look pretty but again #accessability can make it unreadable to some ppl. If I can't read a heading, I can maybe figure it out by reading the body text if thats in sans serif font style. Depends what your going for but design over functionality, could leave some clients/custoers/viewers unable to access your content. Really thankfull for the tutorial, great work. have subscribed and off to watch the others by you.

This has been sooo helpful for learning my way around. I'm positive i'll be returning for another view or two when I forget something.
My version of Libre Office _(7.4 on Linux Ubuntu)_ default to font size by points. 12 point, which I think = 100%? But in the font size editor I just typed 100% and it automatically switched all font selections from point to %. Also I don't have Arial as a selectable font. However, I just typed the font name in, and it _seems_ to have switched.

I appreciate the time and effort that went into making this video. However, as someone who is new to Libre Office, I don't agree this tutorial is for beginners. This video is for advanced users who already know how to create documents in Libre Office. I was hoping this video would show me the basics of creating a customized document with the styles, making it the default for all my documents, and how to properly save it. This tutorial is clearly beyond the basics.
