    The bag of spray foam is only offered in their high efficiency models that’s a $600 add on! Not many customers understand the Engery savings included with that bag of foam

    Hey Dave. Just wanted to say that I have really been enjoying your videos. I just found your channel a couple of days weeks ago and have been binge watching your videos. Very informative videos and I know, for me at least, has helped me with some refrigeration and ice maker issues I have ran into at work. Keep up the good work man.

    Nice work. Very unusual to find a bag of spray foam in the evaporator pan.

    Maybe it was put there to keep the pan from vibrating?

    I'm reminded of a meme I saw a while back when you had your pets in the video. "A dog is able to learn up to 250 words and gestures. A dog can count up to five and perform simple math. Equivalent human age: 3. A cat doesn't give a fuck and is sick of your shit. Equivalent human age: 42." I have both, and it's so true 😂

    Im gonna say the foam couldve been used for shipping and no 1 paid attention to the install manual....

    • @OcRefrig
      @OcRefrig 6 лет назад +1

      very possible. a 5 year old foam block might look like that. it was not removed on start up. packaging material that got tossed around in shipping or manufacturing.

    • @socalcasedog
      @socalcasedog 6 лет назад +1

      @@OcRefrig yep....worked on a 49 once that the customer stated that "its never really worked right since they installed it". Foam block between the coil and back wall was blocking half the coil off....even had a sticker on it 'for shipping only, removed on install'. 🤣

    • @OcRefrig
      @OcRefrig 6 лет назад +1

      hahahaha. thats a good one. i love it when i hear a customer say that a machine has never really worked right since day one. thos are allways good finds when u correct those problems. really satisfing when the customer says Wow, NOw this this runs Like its supposed to . runs like a new machine.

    Dave, you got one Cute Cat and Cute Dog. I Have three cats 1 male and 2 females all rescues. And I have two male beagles both are rescues. Pets are awesome. Nothing like coming home from a long day of dealing with BS and having your animals come up for attention. By the way, I just got a TRUE GDM-23 from a friend who owns the local truck stop. They got new coolers. With the help of your videos, I was able to replace the sqeeky fan motor. I use this old Beverage Cooler for keeping Bottled Water and stuff and overflow groceries cold in my house.

    Cool Vid ! i ran the serial number on that one she's a 2013 unit. made jan 2013. so a 5 year old unit. so its out of warranty on everything. so, it's possible a normal failure of that high temp limt but, the controller might be sticking too in defrost and never coming out. thats what i'm betting. since that limit should never see 90 degree's. so, for the New guys out there, make sure you tell a customer that the controller might be sticking and or it may have other issues that caused the limit to pop. that limit is a safety that sholud never see 90 degree's in defrost unless there is a issue in defrost where the heaters never come out of Defrost. that limt breaks the line voltage to the heater element directly. without that the unit would go into nuclear meltdown if it ever sticks in defrost, so don't EVER think of bypassing it. ( unless u are going to stand there and watch it / for test purposes only. )

      I went on a call, 3 door true case , low temp was reading 285° on the temp alarm, it was stuck in defrost, the klixon was bad. I couldn't believe it got that hot lol

    • @ralphhalili8511

      thanks for the tips brother but I have a couple questions, is that limit automatically closes back the connection at 40f even you went over 90f? also the reason for freeze up is the unit was in defrost for too long, the limit didn't cut it out, it cuts off to its set time or like you said the controller might be sticking in defrost for too long. the box was hot and when it went to refrigeration mode all the heat causes the evap coil to freeze up is that correct? thanks brother

    when they leave the doors open to long it warms up and wont defrost .wire a switch on the cover to by pass sensor so it can defrost.label norm and by pass.you wont have to disassemble.hope it helps.

    When I was an apprentice we found a similar thing in the same spot and on a peice of shit fridge from China was wrapped 3 different layers of material. it was a light brown/white powder inside 100% certain it was used to make drugs. My tradie took it home, no idea what he did with it Haha 🤔😂

    what in the hell was that glob, didn't look like spray-foam and what was the gray strings?
    maybe petrified drugs, soap on a rope, nasty dirty baking (cocaine) soda? :))))

    • @OcRefrig
      @OcRefrig 6 лет назад

      glob looks like spray foam, looks like the guys trigger got stuck and it went crazy. some manufacturers insulate spots on the drain pan to stop sweating. looks like it went a ry. grey strings are the drain liine heater to keep ice from blocking the drain tubing that leaves the bottom of the evaporator.

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 6 лет назад +1

      oh right, forgot about the drain heaters, he only said freezer 20+ and it still didn't register. DOH. something still fishy about that foam though
