I’m glad they fixed it for you. I think a lot of ppl have MINOR problems with their units, but don’t want to send it in for fear they’ll be console-less for up to 5-6 weeks (as a worst case scenario).
i was in the same position, but it came down to the reality of do i want to lie to myself and try to convince myself my brand new system that isn’t working properly will just fix itself eventually bc i don’t wanna go a few weeks without it or send it back while i still have the warranty on it so it doesn’t completely brick and i’m left with nothing.

In the past when I have sent in my console in for repairs it was also just as quick. But I imagine that that is not a new console, it was a console someone else sent in for repairs which was repaired and was certified repaired. The same thing will happen to your old console too. It will be repaired and tested and sent to someone else. That way there is quick turnaround for everyone.
Glad you bit the bullet and sent it in. Totally worth it over having a faulty PS5. I had the same exact issues with mine with glitching video/audio/ and freezing. I did the warranty repair and had a 3 day turn around. Have had no issues since. Mine wasn’t bubble wrapped it came in a new PS5 box and it was also replaced, verified it had a different serial number.
Just imagine how many PS5's would break if they were all placed on a little table like that! Especially in a home with kids, animals or a crazy wacuumcleaner!

I recently got my PS5 repaired ....back in August I brought a disc version from eBay & when I got it set up & ready to go in....the disc drive was defective. I went to my local computer repair shop & got it repaired within 4 days. I would never send any of my consoles to Sony after hearing too many horror stories about their practices.....I'm glad your case worked out.... . 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

It happened two days before Christmas and I got my replacement two days after Christmas. Love the boxes they send out for the repair. Im late to the video, but my PS5 just started acting up after a week left of warranty. My issue, the system was turning off on its own after 2-5 minutes of gameplay (No Overheating Warning), if you can even call it that. Im hoping they replace mine also, it seems the replacements are the ones they should have pushed out which likely would have set the release back to a years time but now they are paying for it. Glad you got your issue fixed, Im praying it happens for me as well.
Imagine having a immaculate 60GB PS3 with a perfect glossy finish and getting the yellow light of death and Sony sends me back someone else’s with scratches all over the power, eject, and memory card area 😔. The process was fast though.
Nah man I work at sony repairs that model we tested all the ports multiple times for Yello light but back then management let us smoke weed on our breaks so our bad

Good service. I don´t understand why so many homes install their tv above a fireplace? I seen it several times and then they have to find all kinds of ways to put their gear and cables all over the place. We have ours install on the wall with a tech unit underneath and a cable channel going down to it so the tv seems to be floating with nothing connected to it.. You can see the cable duct but it´s same colour as our wall and blends in so one don´t really notice it. Nice and clean.

Sadly my PS5 didn't work, I'm talking right out of the box the darn thing was defective. Neither PS5 or PS4 games would play. I'd either get an error or experience a hard crash. What I mean is the screen will go black (or green) and there will be a loud squeal before the console would just shut down. After several calls to PS support, I spoke with a guy who seemed to actually listen to my issues and he green lit my return. Like you it was crazy fast. It took two days for the box to arrive and would have likely arrived sooner had it not been the weekend. I packed the console and returned it to Fed Ex the same day. Sony got the console the NEXT DAY. I got the email they received it and a few hours later got another one saying it was being shipped back. I got my console THE NEXT DAY! Hahaha! The process was crazy quick. Like you I made sure to take down my previous console's serial number so to see if it was new or not. The only difference is my replacement didn't come in bubble wrap, instead it came in a PS5 box. You know the white box that sits inside of the PS5 outer sleeve? That's how mine came. The only difference is all the extras were taken out; no controller, wires, console stand, or booklets. Anyone having issues with their PS5 and is lucky enough to be given the option to send it in should do it! My system plays like a charm, not a single issue since getting it replaced.

I went through this process three times before I realised the launch 60GB PS3's were all doomed and got a PS3 Slim instead. Glad your issue got fixed. Hopefully you don't have anymore problems.

I play my PS5 around 5 to 10 hours daily because of the pandemic. Until last night I couldn’t play all the PS4 game because the picture breaks. So far all the PS5 game runs ok. I am living in Canada don’t know how long it will takes if I sent this to Sony. Also should I delete personal information like credit card or whatever in my PS5? Feb 22 Call Sony Playstation Canada this noon and leave a call back number, they called back and tell me to try safe mode 3 5 and 7, basically check updates issue, rebuild the data and competely reset the PS5. Also then asked me to change the HDMI change TV stuff like that. I didn't try them yet since I was working. Will try safe mode 3 and 5 but not 7 since I still can play my PS5 title, will trying to call them at Wednesday.
I would NEVER send a faulty brand new item to be repaired. I would demand a full refund or replacement. When spending that much money don’t settle for less

Sorry to hear that you are one of small percentage of people who had defective ps5's they did the statistics and the ps5's have had less issues with day one consoles compared to ps4. I bought a ps4 a month after it came out and no issues but got lucky. I usually never buy day one which I assumed you did. You are rolling the dice on possibly getting a buggy console which happened to you. I waited and got my ps5 disc version last month. It works with no issues. I tell people make sure you get warranty's on all electronics that are new just in case. it is new technology that can happen. Glad you got a new one.
Mine was artifacting like crazy after about 6 days. Mostly ps4 games but it just got worse over time and then games started crashing. Followed by ps5 games starting to crash too so I decided to call sony and they didn't even bother asking me to troubleshoot they just send it in that its most likely un repairable and they will replace it. I'm about 3 days into sending it in so hopefully I'll get it back soon. But yeah definitely send yours in if it's artifacting

@Prototype I purchased a warrant through GameStop even tho it comes with a warranty (1yr) I just went in, I told him what was going on he ordered me a new one. They have back up ps5 's for warranty claims so it took about a WK before my new one arrived

In relation to Cold War I think that it is a problem with the game itself. I have it for the Xbox Series X and it has crashed a couple of times when I tried running it mainly before the loading screen, however it would work a lot of the times. I also have the PS5 but my main console is the Xbox and the PS5 is for PS exclusives and retro games. I am bored of both consoles now, and they are unplugged at the moment, the fun part was the chase, stalking websites, refreshing every minute just to see if any stock has dropped. I managed to get both consoles within less than a week of each other, so I was a very happy bunny.
I sent mines out a month ago. It was received but no email saying that it was received. There are no updates about it and when I call, all I hear is the due to high volume speech. They can't even tell me if they actually received....very frustrating!
Yo, Make sure your using the HDMI cable that came with the Playstation 5 and not just unplugging your old PS4 and plugging in the PS5. Most HDMI cables have a max throughput of 18GB. The HDMI cable that comes with the PS5 has a throughput of 48GB. you need that higher throughput to reach 120MHZ at 4K. Using the 18GB cable can cause your game to blink and flash and cause graphical issues as well

I was wondering because on my ps5 there are issues on the hardware lights of the ps5, crashes in game and during watching recordings and sometimes it doesn't even boot up until I unplug and replug the console. I would NEVER send a faulty brand new item to be repaired. I would demand a full refund or replacement. When spending that much money don’t settle for less

Sorry to hear that you are one of small percentage of people who had defective ps5's they did the statistics and the ps5's have had less issues with day one consoles compared to ps4. I bought a ps4 a month after it came out and no issues but got lucky. I usually never buy day one which I assumed you did. You are rolling the dice on possibly getting a buggy console which happened to you. I waited and got my ps5 disc version last month. It works with no issues. I tell people make sure you get warranty's on all electronics that are new just in case. it is new technology that can happen. Glad you got a new one.
Mine was artifacting like crazy after about 6 days. Mostly ps4 games but it just got worse over time and then games started crashing. Followed by ps5 games starting to crash too so I decided to call sony and they didn't even bother asking me to troubleshoot they just send it in that its most likely un repairable and they will replace it. I'm about 3 days into sending it in so hopefully I'll get it back soon. But yeah definitely send yours in if it's artifacting
Did you include a receipt in the box when you sent it out for repair?

Had to send mine back also, got a brand new one withing a WK but I got to keep my old one until the new one arrived
@Prototype I purchased a warrant through GameStop even tho it comes with a warranty (1yr) I just went in, I told him what was going on he ordered me a new one. They have back up ps5 's for warranty claims so it took about a WK before my new one arrived

In relation to Cold War I think that it is a problem with the game itself. I have it for the Xbox Series X and it has crashed a couple of times when I tried running it mainly before the loading screen, however it would work a lot of the times. I also have the PS5 but my main console is the Xbox and the PS5 is for PS exclusives and retro games. I am bored of both consoles now, and they are unplugged at the moment, the fun part was the chase, stalking websites, refreshing every minute just to see if any stock has dropped. I managed to get both consoles within less than a week of each other, so I was a very happy bunny.

I sent mines out a month ago. It was received but no email saying that it was received. There are no updates about it and when I call, all I hear is the due to high volume speech. They can't even tell me if they actually received....very frustrating!

Yo, Make sure your using the HDMI cable that came with the Playstation 5 and not just unplugging your old PS4 and plugging in the PS5. Most HDMI cables have a max throughput of 18GB. The HDMI cable that comes with the PS5 has a throughput of 48GB. you need that higher throughput to reach 120MHZ at 4K. Using the 18GB cable can cause your game to blink and flash and cause graphical issues as well

I was wondering because on my ps5 there are issues on the hardware lights of the ps5, crashes in game and during watching recordings and sometimes it doesn't even boot up until I unplug and replug the console. I just wanted a replacement of my ps5 so those hardware and software problems are fixed
