Khamzat Chimaev has gone from the fastest growing star in this sport and taking on the most fights in the shortest amount of time to now, where we are lucky if we see him fight even once a year. As a result, we haven't seen him fight for a title even once despite having opportunities in 2 divisions. What has happened to the career of Khamzat Chimaev?

I also trained with Covid because I’m an idiot like him and I literally remember thinking khamzat would be training right now. Khamzat wouldn’t let himself be sick. Well it made my lungs bleed and I was set back about a year or more in terms of cardio and lung health.
I went from smoking bags of pipe tobacco to running marathons, and trying to train with Covid made me feel worse than I did when I smoked more than a pack a day.
      Like thee worst smokers cough.
I genuinely don’t think I have ever trained as hard as I did back then. I did 16 hour days every single day, month after month. Even using nicotine sometimes, now it’s all I can do to work out like an average Joe.
Value your health, kids. It’s wealth.
And I have quit nicotine now, quit drinking, just some weed here and there and work.
I don’t know if there is a solution. I think it caused permanent damage.

… I don’t think he “got chummy”, I think what happened is that Ramzan did what every dictator does: find a struggling prodigy, ride on the coattails of their success, showers them in gifts, and basically like ‘hardwires’ into them that they built this life and all these good things for them, and to never ever cross him.

But instead of just being said to generate hype, he would MEAN IT. Like… c’mon dude, seriously…

The aura Khamzat had after the Li Jingliang fight was crazy. Me and many other fans were convinced he was a for sure future double champ and possible GOAT. Now I’m doubting if he can win one belt.
