This isn't about making the team or any community better. This is 100% about Haslam making $$$$ for himself. That is fine, but he should not get one penny of tax dollars to do it.

@gbonkers666 Yep they need parking with security. Cars in Cleveland are paying to park, having cars vandalized and the people you pay to park are not responsible?
People who live near the new stadium are going to find their streets filled with cars that were parked because people don't want to pay what the stadium will charge, and there are times when there will be problems. How good is public transportation in the area? Is there a train station nearby?
Cleveland football was dirt, mud, snow, rain smash football. Now we can look forward to temp controlled, clean games where looking at the QB is a penalty. Change the colors from brown and orange to pink and yellow. Oh well, noones going to be able to afford the games soon anyways.

This is why I think the city will be fine because people are talking about living downtown without more traffic😅 which is where a major city always talks about anyway
There's nothing forward-thinking about potentially moving to Brook Park, but consider the source (ownership). Until a change is made at the top, this woebegotten franchise won't win a thing of any consequence.
The first guy was funny. "The only thing 'right now' in Brook Park are strip clubs and empty buildings". Well, yea, you're right. Right now that's it. In three years it'll be epic and exactly what this REGION, not JUST the city, but entire REGION, needs. Also, he said "It's going to kill downtown". Two things; downtown is killing itself with the out of control crime getting worse by the day, and also, last time I looked, there were HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of businesses downtown who do just fine on the 357 or so days a year the team isn't playing down there. This guy just did a great job of opposing his own opinion. This whole discussion and debate is stupid because of simple logic and numbers. We already KNEW what the answer was going to be because of simple math. The city said they'd kick in for revitalization of the current stadium BUT - BUT, it would require a thirty year lease, and by everyone calculations on all sides, the upgrades would only last fifteen years, so in fifteen years, we'd be right back here again. Are people this stupid to not look into this stuff or do they just like to complain???????
I really don't see a down side. Brookpark is only 10 minutes from downtown. Not 10 miles. Crime and parking and highway repairs year round make it hard getting down there. All the downsides as far as existing businesses are not exclusive to Parma. Cleveland had and has the same issues even with the face lift that was going on down there. Also, don't forget a brand new stadium that can be used for more than just football regular season games.

That dude is a snob. This could be great for the city of Brook Park. Maybe then he’ll want to have valentine dinner in Brook Park whatever that means. What a boomer.
With that new stadium comes new parking. Parking that the Haslam will own, and more $$ in their pocket. They couldn't do that downtown. Who's paying for the new infrastructure to accommodate the traffic that comes with the games?
Well...we should have put a dome on one of the two that are downtown! Trivasano said that years ago....and it sure was stupid! Now, Brookpark and a dome? Well.....for some reason Cleveland did not push for that years ago...which meant there would never be a Superbowl hosted in Cleveland because of that. Not to mention all the other things you can not do in is or with these two stadiums in downtown without the dime. And right now.....heck...mot too many cabins are very happy with this team anyways.....so maybe if they are out there, the attitude and the play will change. We took a step years backwards this year and it makes it really tough to support or buy tickets to go watch a loser.....again! We have had that for years and thought we had turned that page....but I guess the Browns organization wanted us to remember those days!
What I don’t get is how the stadium, built as recently as 1999 primarily for football, is now going to sit there for the occasional Monster Jam or soccer game. The Haslams should pay for redevelopment, especially since the stadium likely isn’t fully paid off, leaving taxpayers and the education system to bear the burden for years, and decades to come.

@@tammyl.9254 Tammy, it’s not necessarily a bad thing, but we’re not in Dubai or Singapore where money flows endlessly. Taxpayers end up footing the bill for both the new stadium and the old one, and it can take 50+ years to pay off. In many cases, they’re never fully paid off.
