GARBAGE HORRIBLE VOCALS
Bassist is so Savage.. playing as if it's Nothing for Her. Loved her Reactions Great music. Sink in was so Good
Just saw them open for Silversun Pickups last night. She reminds me of The Ox!
Those bass riffs are incredible
Miki is a machine.
I know, right? ‘Spiral’ was what got me into this band, and that damn bassline … Wow. Love these girls.
Cheryl Waters is monumental... long live to Cheryl
Just saw them touring with Silversun Pickups!! Amazing group- I love hearing new grunge, been listening to them non stop since the show! ❤
Just saw them tonight and had to look them up. Glad to see KEXP has such a good set by them!
Same here. I just watched them in Albuquerque and there is a good vibe with these girls!.
St. Petersburg Florida here!
Seen them last night with Silversun Pickups. They absolutely rocked! Had no idea who they were, and they blew me away.
I mean they are great. But I just feel a bit unfulfilled when the artist isn’t emotionally expressive on stage. Like for example the front woman of PORRIDGE RADIO or BULLY.
KEXP is the best radio on Earth. It gives voice, space, and visibility to bands that aren't part of the mainstream scenario.
I loved to discover this great band! Thanks KEXP
Hugs from Brazil!
Yes, and the best thing is that bands from other languages also perform!
Minidesk is also excellent
If it wasn't for kexp I wouldn't have went to Iceland airwaves
The bass riffs L❤️VE … ah this band !!!
these girls rock
These ladies KILLED IT opening for SSPU the other night at Jannus! Obsessed!
Yes! Saw them open for Silversun Pickups in Orlando. Was blown away! Likewise: Obsessed! Bass player stands, aloof, as though she'd rather be anywhere but on stage--so badass. (I think she's their secret weapon!) Brilliant act--all three members!
They’ve got that nostalgic vibe in their music!!
Little Velocity Girl in them
One of the best upcoming bands in the US. They are already so good! I love them!
Best Modern Grunge band right now. Able to use the grunge sound without it sounding dated and gimmicky. Love them!!!
They are shoegaze lol
soul blind tho
@@Janik-pwoejrur how
Exactly.
@@Janik-pwoejrurnot all songs with effects are shoegaze.
Such youthful presence along with great musical talent is a powerful thing. "Knowing You" is exceptionally outstanding and magical.
Speaking as a retiree in Florida, I LOVE the youthful presence. I would be more than proud to have one of my granddaughters doing this.
So refreshing to hear bands that still rock
Rock still exists!!! Love this group just found them out yesterday and been playing their music non stop
That drummer is refreshingly lucid.
Saw these ladies this past Thursday night opening for Silversun Pickups. They kicked ass!
Went to see Silversun Pickups in Asbury Park NJ last week. Hello Mary opened. I had never heard of them but I was captivated. It reminded me of Throwing Muses or maybe Belly. Love the crunchy guitar riffs, bass is amazing, and love the time changes and harmony. Picked up a vinyl and have been spinning it all week.
absolutely love them!! been listening to them for 2 years now, so underrated but so so good!
Okay...this is REALLY good! Thanks so much for sharing all these wonderful bands. Helps keep an old guy in the know.
finallyyy, been into them since last year. glad to see they’re getting the recognition they deserve. can’t wait for an album...
I fell in love with Helena Straight after a recent show they did in Cleveland. Met her, chatted with her and got a picture with her.
Magnifique découverte. Belle énergie, belles compositions. Merci
Excellent, another great band to follow. Thanks Kexp.
Definitely love that last one. Keep doing what youre doing guys!
They're cool, and I really like their Reverend guitars!
A Mike Watt bass…. Most cunning!
@@whitenoisebe and played correctly ;-)
KEXP is my one-stop shop for great music.
We saw them in St. Petersburg opening for Silversun Pickups. What an interesting band. The drum patterns felt innovative as hell and really worked well with the bass player to create an amazing rhythm. Lead singer's vocals felt a little low in the mix and it was hard to hear her but they had a merch boot set up and were fun to talk with. After asking if they had a CD for sale and getting looked at like I just asked for an 8-track, I figured out that a google of "Hello Mary" might be best and I found their debut vinyl on Amazon for $20 (or you can get the mp3s for like $9) and it is an incredible listen and came with lyrics (whew because sometimes the vocals are a little tough to decipher).
The guitar riffs are interesting, the drums and bass are fresh and definitely don't feel overproduced. They aren't exactly grunge but I just have that same feeling when I first got into those experimental grunge bands of the early 90s. They have a lot of talent and I hope they keep going AND I hope we get to see them again live now that I know a few of their tunes.
Sink In was pretty awesome. Great bass walking... I like the strum on the upbeat.
Grungy, love it!
This band is awesome!! 🤘
yes i love this. one of my favourite bands right now.
All three of them are amazing musicians. I really dig these girls. I hope they stick around for a while.
This band is a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to seeing how they progress.
I love KEXP and Cheryl Waters. Greetings from Japan.
3:13 actually said 'OH SHIT' out loud at how hard this riff grooved
Knowing You is the best song I hear in quite some time
I love it ! The bass player is the bomb !
i don't know if i love the drummer or the bassimst more, they're all amazing. Thanks KEXP for continously showing me great bands
is a tough call. the bassist is killing it but like in an unassuming way. The drummer's playing and voice are top notch! Helena is no slouch too
@@clank4001 i like the bassist cause her bass lines are pretty cool and constantly in my head. But yeah, the drummer is amazing, playing an instrument and singing is tough
Loved it, a decent, tight rock band. Thanks!
Just discovered them about 5 months ago maybe, still awaiting to see them in L.A.
Knowing you absolutely crushes!! Love the tone.. women.💗💪🏼
Reminds me a bit of the album Auscultate by the '90s Swedish grunge band Salt. Soundtrack to many a high school car ride.
Very grunge. Digging it.
Excellent set.
Yes pls
Love those guitars 🎸
Very cool band!!!
The future is bright!
we love you hello mary
Hell yes!
I like this music
Powerful trio! Bass player is getting down
Strong 90's vibes here. I bet they'd list Shudder to Think as one of their influences.
Mikaela sure can play that bass !! Very cool !! :)
WOWWWW
Reminds me a lot of Eric’s Trip. Great Sounds.
Excellent! I love SLEATER KINNEY!
so great !!!!!
nice music
How did this band happen???!!!! Mindblown!
🔥
Kick ass NY girls!!!
Hey it’s fav, hello Mary
It’s like it’s 1994 and Cub didn’t suck.
This is solidddddd. 😵
Reminds me of Silverchair. Bravo jam on
Guitar solo on Sink In is groovy as fuck.
check out the band Helium. They've got that vibe. So glad to hear influences of underground 90s coming forward now.
Bass player is very good. Watch her left hand!
Totally agree - I wish I could play bass like that.
muy bueno che!!!
Bring julie!!!
sick
Take It From Meeeeeeeeeeeeee 🖤
I can't hear Radiohead in that but still as a Radiohead fan I'm in love with ya and your music guirls
very nice ideas and arrangement, but... put lady on drums on main vocals
Listened to everything twice 🤘
One word; Rad. This band is the torch bearer for Grunge revival.
I dig the dissonance.
Rabbit is perfect for a mosh pit. Grunge vibes!!
A Nirvana Uzeda and Breeders perfect mix😍
Nice understanding of using a 3 piece ensemble.
fuck this is fucking good shit
You put it very well.
Why they didn't play Special Treat or Stinge? 😿
they have their all business game face on for most of the show, then, 6:20 :) :) :)
wow im now a big fan great music kind of weirdly reminds me of mbv isnt anything
Rabbit sounds like Blandest from Nirvana. I mean I like it, sounds cool.
I appreciate that while they’re grunge… they get atonal like kimchi. Sour can be good with some sweet harmonies
Reminds me of Sleater Kinney
like the rabbit song is good
Nirvana, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden, only played by grrls. Very køöl.
They're not at all like Alice In Chains. I can understand the other comparisons.
@@shacharh5470 C'mon, the chord progressions and the harmony singing is AiC 101. Ok, AiC for beginners but it's easy to hear what inspired their sound.
@@shacharh5470 The two singer aspect is a lot like AiC. Of the three, definitely most like Nirvana musically - but I honestly wouldn't say they are much like any of those bands, or even grunge.
Hello Mary, I'm Rod 👋
drummer reminds of mxmtoon and bass seems cool like bass person from starcrawler
to anyone who enjoys hello mary, check out frances of delirium
The lead singer needs to keep her eyes open while singing. Her eyes are mesmerizing.
Hello Veruca. Good stuff though
undang voice of baceprot dari indonesia
на басу стоит медитирует похоже😄
Hello, WHAT!! Rolling Stone said "Some folks say rock is dying. OK, sure- but have they heard Hello Mary?" Oh yeah! Another nail in rocks coffin. RIP!
Grunge (Nirvana style) Is back with a little bit of stoner on top 👍
guess grunge is not dead
That‘s shoegaze
