WOW! Beautiful. What a big difference from the ice of a few months ago.

Very nice, I am a sailor and a Phantom 3 Advanced owner. What kind of range do you get with your Phantom 3? Some of the shots look like they were a long distance from you. I live 3 miles from a very small town, I am surrounded by trees and farm fields, my range seems more limited than what I see people seem to get on their videos. My range going north over the trees seems to be only 200 yards tops and over the farm fields to the west I only get about 1/2 a mile. I am seriously considering buying one of the range extenders on the market, any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks

Hi Wayne. Thanks for watching. The range of the quads is greatly affected by whats around them. Trees, power lines, cell towers etc. When I fly out over the lake, while sitting right at the shoreline, no obstructions, no power lines, no cell towers and the trees are all behind me, I can get an impressive range of over 3.5 miles. If I run a range test only, my battery will force a RTH before I run out of signal. However, if I use my P3A and fly out over the trees, like a full forest, at an altitude just above the tree tops, I will loose signal very quickly. Watch my Litchi app Must see video and see what happens in those cases. There are range modifiers out there. I will be test some of them soon. For now I use 2 copper reflectors that focus the antennas fwd. I have found them to be quite effective and only cost a few bucks. Hope this helps. Cheers G

Hey buddy, I stopped by to see what's new with you. I hope you & your family are doing well. Are you still flying? The weather is getting nice now, I hope to see some new drone videos from you soon! Happy flying bro! -djsoulforce!

Hi DJ! Happy to hear from you my friend. The Canadian government has implemented a bunch of new laws that have made flying very difficult to accomplish. Since then, I have not flown anything! Which is not a good thing. I am just patiently waiting for the government to get its head out of its ass and implement more realistic laws regarding drone flying. Until then, I'm grounded. I'll just have to enjoy sailing and motorcycle riding to keep busy lol. Cheers bro

What a bummer! Well, since you can't fly for now, you can still stop by the channel and fly with me bro... don't be a stranger!!! Thanks

Very nice. I would think that Enya music is copywrited? Not sure. What about using "Come Sail Away" by Styx ? (a personal favorite). The group of small sailboats (sunfish?) seemed to be sailing in a very haphazard manner, narrowly avoiding collisions. The one large sail boat with the bluish-purple back end seemed to have a lot of flutter in his front sail ... perhaps he needed to pull it in tighter to eliminate that, or reef it and put up a spinnaker? (not much of a sailor, but have been out many times on sail boats). Anyway, nice job shooting. ND8 on all the video? Nice place to shoot, kind of like my Geneva Marina area. Cheers!

Hi Bill. Yes, the music is copyrighted. I found out a way to use this kind of music in my videos. When making a video there is a music section. You can search free music, or check on the ability to use copyrighted music. So you have a song you like, you own it, search it in youtube for the rules on that song. In this case, Enya says its ok to use this song, as long as she gets any money from adds that might pop up. And I cannot monetize the video, which is just fine by me. The group of small boats were a school. Just learning. All kids. The large sailboat you noticed had an inexperienced capt on board. Good spotting. He needed to trim up the Genoa. Right amount of sail, just needs to be trimmed up. Yes, I used the ND8 for some of the video. This was made up of 8 flights. 1 without the filter, and the others with. Just forgot to put it on for the first flight. Glad you like the location. I love just sitting out on the park bench, under the shade of the trees, filming water, boats, trees, nature etc. Great way to spend some time on a day off. Cheers G

Thanks for the info. I agree .. great place to shoot, and, now that you mention it, I do remember that the fore sail is called the Genny (Genoa) .. been a while .. ha ha
