I love solving rubies cubes and I always wanted to learn ho to do it blindfolded and I think this is the video that can finally teach me how to do it thanks to you
for the first example where the buffer is flipped, why is there not the letter of the buffer swap position (I know this might be cryptic, but take "I" for instance) Thanks! This video is helpful overall and easy to understand.
Thank you for making this awesome video! I have a question about tracing: Any tips on finding untraced pieces and/or not missing piece(s) left untraced? For example spatial memory? Revisit the memorized string again?
At the start, it can help to put your fingers on each of the pieces you trace to, but as you get faster you'll over time just get a feeling for what you've been to and what you haven't
hey, love this video! im starting to get pretty good at the old pochmann method and want to get better at blind solving. do you know what i could do to improve past the beginner level (as in tips or a different method)? thanks and great video!
That's awesome! There are a couple of things that you can do to improve that I hope to make future videos covering, but for now here's a quick run down. You can learn M2, which is a faster method for solving the edges of the cube. And also, you can review the memorisation less and less times, which will speed up your memorisation. You can do this gradually. Further from that, there are more advanced methods such as 3-style but for now learning M2 and reviewing your memo less should help you get much faster
Can you please check this solution to practice 1 if it is correct? Scramble B2 R2 D’ B2 D’ R2 D2 L2 D’ R2 B2 F U’ B R’ U2 R’ F’ D2 B2 Fw Uw2 for Corners: TGHCDPBQ Edges: UNHCEXPVWC Great vid and waiting for part 3
How to do you which pieces you’ve memorised already? Also can you turn the letter you remembered for each piece into a word that starts with that letter? Won’t that be easier?
Yup in part 3! In fact after part 3 you should know everything you need to fully solve the cube, and then part 4 will be about putting it all together.
I'm the 3rd example you explained, why didn't you note anything when the buffer was flipped? I tried to do it myself before watching your explanation and I still noted the letter M (as the red sticker would go from B to M and then back). Also in the last cycle I noted KUK while you skipped that last K and I wonder why? I guess it's not so important as long as you know where a cycle starts/ends and in this case it's kind of intuitive. But I was just wondering though ;) Anyways, your tutorial is great and very easy to understand. There are some others on RUclips but yours is the first that I can truly keep up with. Thank you!
Because if you do a flipped edge, you're going back to the same piece, not the same sticker. if it hits the same piece it counts as a cycle break. Sometimes it's on the same sticker, sometimes it's not.
When you are starting out, it can be good to put your fingers on pieces that you've been to so you can tell which ones you haven't yet. As you get faster, you'll just gain sort of more of an intuition and you won't need to use your fingers.
When I cycle break I memorise the sticker that I'm gonna use as buffer piece? In the first example you showed you noted J R J not just R J (in the first cycle you don't memorise the buffer piece at the start too but onwards you memorise it for both the end and the start of the cycle?
Maybe I understood it wrong, if I Cycle to an unsolved piece in a 2nd cycle, would the buffer piece get solved? Because I unsolve it first for the 2nd cycle tracing Also what cube are you using in the video?
Hello Charlie! sorry for the comment in last vid, i finally understood it lol, but i have one more question, do we memo all the pieces we started with in every cycle break in the end? so never first cycle but always other cycles?
Does it matter if I start my tracing from corners then edges or edges then corners? I think J Perm starts with tracing edges then corners, does it matter? (I'll probably do corners then edges anyway but just asking)
It is best to start with corners first and edges second because that is what will be best later on as you get faster, so starting with good habits will be best. When we get to execution though, you will have to execute edges first and then corners
When you said WA I think of a Mario character my mind went straight to wario 😂😂. The story part is hard specially when English isn't my first language which means in my language w and k are not really used so it's hard making words with those. So I either make full stories in English which takes me longer or I put in a English word when k and w show up XD. Great tutorial keep up the good work. I'll be waiting for the next 😄
I chose to cycle break to B which meant when I got back to that piece that B is on, that was the end of the cycle. So Q was the end of the cycle. And then i Had to cycle break into the twisted corner after that. Hope this helps!
It's a bit complicated at first, I keep going wrong. 😢 I will be practicing hard because my dream is to solve a rubik's cube blindfolded once although I am still a nine years old child.

Oh wait, correct me if I’m wrong, but when the buffer is twisted then another edge needs to be twisted also and when you twist back an edge the buffer will also be twisted
if the buffer is in it's place at all (even flipped/twisted), then you need to cycle break to another unsolved piece. It is impossible for just the buffer to be flipped/twisted and every other piece solved, so cycle break into the unsolved pieces.@@Guporo

Most intuitive and concise tutorial. Thanks so much. Actually I created a new bld method for edges. The same buffer as Old Pochmann .But the algorithm is J perms by setting up the piece to Up front not Up left(as you traditionally do in old pochmann) ruclips.net/user/shortslIWnRGmqCVg check this video for it.
That's great that you're thinking about alternate ways to do things! It's awesome you discovered this on your own. There are a certainly a lot of cases where this is good, but as a whole, it is worse than doing the t perms. This is because you still have to not interrupt the corners on the top right side, and setting up many of the pieces on the cube to where it needs to go for a Jperm is incredibly difficult without interrupting those corners. For example, in your video, you had J, and you did F l', but unfortunately that wouldn't work in a full solve because it effects those corners that shouldn't be effected. And so with that limitation, it is much better for a lot of the cases to just setup to do the t-perm. With that being said, it is good to use the Tperm and Jperm interchangebly depending on what piece you need to swap with, as some are easier for one and not the other, just make sure you aren't effecting those top right corners. So awesome you discovered this and good luck with your blindsolving journey!
