I'll start by saying I'm 62 . I found them because of the covers but i also love their original music . They do need to appeal to younger people and it's working . They are getting more and more young people going to their shows . Along with retaining most of the older fans . A lot of the older fans are bringing their kids and even grandchildren . As far as the lyrics , different people get different messages , this is a Christian leaning song and i think that's great . It would be great if you could see them live and experience the range of what they can do .

Why do bands absolutely have to be in one type of category? It's okay to try out and find out what suits them. I think Rise up has been made because of all the heat they have received because of their appearance and the music. People have commented that they are a cover band. They have also discriminated against their appearance. Fat and too big teeth.

They have used this as the intro to their concerts, playing a portion of it and going directly into the song Not Afraid. I don't know if this is true for every performance. I appreciate your honest views and opinions. I am a big fan of Liliac and like everything they do, mostly because not every song sounds the same. They have created songs that touch on every type of style, but keep them their own. Their newest album is called Madness. Rise Up, Carousel, Somber Cry, and Madness are all from it.
Check out Not Afraid extended version, Mars Live 2019 in Cumming, GA, Vertigo Live 2021, and Queen of Hearts live 2021 for some live performances.

It seems to me the song is trying to warn all of us to keep a close eye out for a New World Order that may be coming. This song is their opener when touring for going on two years. It kinda goes along with a lot of RJD songs' themes too. Look Out about what getting ready to happen it seems. This band is so tight that it makes them a better live band than studio.

Looks dont make the music are you going to tell James Hetfield to grow his hair back 😆Their look is a theme for everything they do album or video wise. I personlly think it's brilliant. You got the apocolyptic part right and actually was done in a professional studio. "Rise Up" is biblical they are very cristian this also was a fan picked video they were asked which video they wanted next and they picked Rise Up. The story behind the hard drive of the video is a whole other story. 😆🤦 Thats not true about he age group of their fans have you been to a show ? Saw how many children and young adults were there rocking out? Id say probably not 😉👍 Rock on😊🤘

Kirk! Arggh! That is her normal singing voice!!!! :) Nobody assumes Ronnie James Dio, Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge or Lizzy Hale are using a fake voice when they sing, even though their speaking voices aren't raspy! Geddy Lee of Rush doesn't talk like Micky Mouse! People don't sound like they sing. Even my own singing voice is very different naturally from the sound when I speak.

I ask you a question. Do you like RJDIO? I think you don't understand what we see in this band and that is what Melody's voice transmits to us and it is more about a song in particular. It is a feeling from the way she sings. we love rjdio we are very clear about it, she is different and it is very good to make her music and make his like she is doing it and I am not exactly a young man

Part of what we look for is does the video tell a story of you don't have lyrics to hand. Many people do not break down lyrics on first watch, some prefer the visuals aspect. With this video it was hard to tell what the rise up was about. If it's about the rapture then their isn't much you can rise up against as it's final judgement.

They will be around for a long time. As they grow, mature, so will their songs. I really haven't anything y'all have play. Do you have a video hete on RUclips? Give the link and will go watch it.

I always try to be as positive as possible in my comments about everything, for a lot of good reasons (including that I want to be respectful of bands and their fans, as long as it isn't rap). That being said, I should point out that I agree that Carousel is the best songwriting they've done by miles. I also think this song very well illustrates everything I said in my comments about your reactions to "Nothing" as far as Liliac goes. I like this band a lot, and I want them to be good, I want them to succeed, and I have nothing bad to say about them as a band overall; but I do wish for their sakes that they would work a lot harder on their songwriting, which is by far their weakest point. This struck me as unmemorable and uninspired, and something that might be heard in a local musical theater production. This could have easily been just as effective (probably even moreso) with only drums and vocals, since the other instruments did not contribute. They could be so good if they would work harder to write more memorable songs or even riffs, so it always frustrates me. The song isn't "bad", but it is very forgettable, and I have absolutely no reason to ever hear this again.

Rise up..as in The Rapture...I am sure you have heard about that? Maybe not..."Standing in Deliverance.." ring a bell, maybe not...Heavy Metal arrives in the Church Revival Tent. As usual, these 3 people have ZERO clue as to what the song is really about, never read the Lyrics, did they. The ENTIRE Album tells a story from the first opening song all the way through to "Hey there, Child" at the end. Just like back the Albums back in the 1960s....White Album, anyone...yes, I AM that old....I even liked Revolver, as well....
"Frankenstein" played without a Keytar? Edgar Wintar?

Not sure why you guys are fixated on Liliac. Sure some of them can play well. But too often the guitar solos don't flow with the song. They end up feeling self-indulgent and showy. She has a voice and it can be pretty great on covers. I don't care for her style on their own stuff. I have yet to see or hear an original idea. There are so many better bands out there.
