I cleared that hurdle back in October and have done it four times now. Unfortunately getting funded just leads to an even bigger hurdle - getting to a payout. I haven't cleared that one yet, but still grinding.
I have the same with topstep, I never met anyone who' s levels are so precise but ends up with losses all the time, which is me, unfortunately , but on my practice account its going amazing :( Good luck in your journey

really appreciate your honesty and transparency here. trading is hard as hell and trying to pass prop firm challenges is even harder with all their rules that are more or less designed to make you fail. doesn't help that a lot of the biggest trading YT channels here make it look easy by posting heavily curated content only showing massive gains to try to sell their courses... thank you for being one of the few real ones on here. i'm also trying to improve the quality of YT trading content by posting fully transparent, no-bs, day trading recaps and have been documenting my trading P&L and account balances on a daily basis. i wanted to let you know that i started looking into futures after watching some of your old futures trading videos so wanted to also thank you for putting me onto them!! also, sorry to hear about your dog 😭 am glad that you were able to spend some extra time with him before he passed.

Dang, sorry to hear about your dog dude. I've enjoyed the authenticity of your videos and hope the best for you! I was drawn to your videos because of TradesByMatt! I've taken way too many funded trader combines/tests (had funded accounts, but then lost them after 1 payout) and I have to say, just swing trading micros (on a 1k personal account) with less/strict rules has helped a lot mentally. It isn't as flashy or fun to swing trading Micro Crude Oil futures contracts, but it has definitely scratched the trading itch while keeping the potential for loss low. Maybe this approach could help with the trading - maybe not! much love!
What are your main struggles concerning passing the evaluation? Do you fomo, revenge trade, get overly emotional and take impulsive trades? Or is it just implementation of poor strategies? And any specific ways you're addressing those issues?

I'm more interested in swing trading than day trading, day trading is too intense and the market makers and their bots seem to pounce on every move you make.

I have been day trading 3.5 years. I have spent the last 8 months trying to get funded. I dont miss a day of trading. I got funded two weeks ago. I broke my funded account 1 week ago and now am back in the trading combine trying to get funded again. I spend all my spare time learning about trading. I work a full time job while spending all my free time to learn to trade. Trading is not a get rich quick scheme. Its a discipline, a disciplined that takes years just to become profitable.

Stick to day trading you will get it at some point. Just take breather like you said and you will achieve your goals in life
