James, you should have left the hatches in the holes, covered the hatches when you did the normal floor, and then cut the hatches out when all the floor was covered.
Hi James, I have watched you from the beginning and I am well impressed by your diligence and persistence to " get it right". I don,t normally comment about other peoples work but had to say well done James. You have done and are doing something that I would never had even thought to do now at 74 yo I wish I had. Hope you have a great Christmas and the kids all enjoy themselves and Santa is good to them.
You know what, that’s the advantage of this type of work schedule - in an hour I can do that but not much more. Otherwise, I fear I would have done the same
Huh????? You had the exact pieces to fit those spots from the cutouts you made to the tiles around the hole. Even without those, it should have only taken 4 parts to cover them as their are at most 4 tiles around it with 4 corners cut off of them.
Evening James. Just parked up in my lorry in Stirling with a brew 🤣 So nothing better than advent calendar episode 6 lol 😂 That floor is looking like a lovely home 👍🏻
Great flooring job , you have great patience , in making sure each tile matches up perfectly. You have achieved a very professional finish , in such a restricted area to work . Well done , looking forward to the next door reveals !!!
The Advent Calendar was (is) a brilliant idea James. The tiles have made such a difference, well done. Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas and New Year.
Outstanding piece of work. As they say, you can only eat an elephant 🐘 one piece at a time. Superb tenacity on your part. Re door to bathroom area, the Aquaholic channel features quite a few boats with concertina doors and blinds that angle in the middle to fit the shape of the boat. The product is out there all you need to do is find it and bring it in against budget ££ 🤣🤣
James great video and floor looks great. An idea for your floor hatches to make them easy to open. Get a couple of round magnets. Drill or cut holes in the unflavored sizes and glue the magnets in. The stronger the magnets, the less you need to drill out. Don’t use spade drill, as they have long points. I bet your friend with the shop where you made your curtain rods would have everything you need for the hole.
Hi James, cracking job on the flooring especially the two hatches, well done mate! and happy Christmas to you and the family and of course have a great new year.
Following the Advent calendar theme, you had a diabolical challenge that a Krampus would enjoy inflicting on some one (Krampusnacht, Dec. 5), but you persisted, and there is a great result, overseen by the patron saint of people at sea (St. Nicholas, Dec.6). 😁 I know the feeling--if I cut corners, I would know and it would bug me forever.
I have a couple of plywood cut outs in the floor of my boat and they have Brass Latch Pull Handle Latches Just looked on ebay and they are £6.99 The flooring is the same as yours but different shade Flooring looks great on your boat
Anyone else insulated under the flooring of their boats as it makes loads of difference .... all pipework joints still accessible and no channels in sub structure so didn't need to worry about that
I'm doing a massive catch up on all the video's at the moment, so a bit behind. But have to say you've done a cracking job with the floor, especially the two hatches in the bathroom. Is it the flooring from B&Q? What do you think of it? Is it sticking ok? Just thinking that might be a good way for me to go on my boat when I get round to it.
I thought as I was watching you cut the original tiles arounf the holes that you should have stuck the off cuts to the covers to maintain the tile match. Sadly I didnt watch the video immediately so any advice would have been a week too late.

Most enjoyable advent calendar ever !
The tile turned out great nice place to hide xtra tp .
Totally impressed. The time you took to make sure the tiles matched up. I would have just stuck on a tile and been done with it. Great job!

👍🏻🎄lovely tiling job ….. what a puzzle 🧩…. I’m enjoying this advent calendar 🗓
Love watching all your build videos! Keep em coming!

Well done James ! The floor is terrific!
You have a wonderful knack of making difficult job look easy. Keep safe
I totally think it’s the other way round - make an easy job look hard - thanks though
Fantastic work on the floor James -well done!

Keep up the good work James .. Looking great and given what else you have going on the progress is remarkable.

Good call - I’ll check it out
Some top class tiling and pattern matching there. Excellent.

Well done Rob you must have the patience of a saint. Look really good.
The floor is looking fantastic, well worth the effort you have put in. Give yourself a well earned pat on the back.👍
well worth the effort to make those match up, good job
Perfect match! I woulda just painted it blue lol. Serious though great job matching the pattern.
Thanks pal
A nice memory foam rug would be brilliant for that bathroom. Nice job! The whole floor looks great!
Another Top Job Young James :-)
I thought you had forgot us James. Only 25 mins from midnight. 😂😂
Forgot you!!! Pah, not a chance. The heat was on
Good luck with the storm later James
A great day's work! looks really good.
Fantastic and patient work James. But you spend more material for that, why don't you just use cut-offs of original tiles? Nice video of marina...
Very neat, James. Crack on!
I suggest you get a small sink plunger. You can use the suction to pull the inspection hatches, as well as do plunging...
Way better than a chocolate Advent calendar . . .
Glad you think so - hope you’re well
this is quite a good novel festive series james

The flooring is the same as yours but different shade
Flooring looks great on your boat
What a cute draw bridge! Another enjoyable vlog, boat is looking great!
Great use of the scrap pieces of tile, its more work but it saves money.
Great Vlog Did you see the Leonard Comet in the sky @2:10 to 3:24 just above the Lift bridge to right!
I thought that was an aeroplane. Good spot

You mean ducks and Geese play 'chicken'
Boosh! floor's looking great buddy
What a great job. Right decision too
Looks great 👍 another job jobbed 😄
Yay! You did it! Looks nice. See you later!
Thanks -
How tall is robs boat on the inside? Can he stand strait up?I haven’t heard of any narrowboat over 6’6” of inside height
Your Toilet has no privacy screen? Ya, I know. You are alone. But, still...

How is Carol??? Found myself thinking about her and wanted to send all best to her, and you.

great job mate you must be cross eyed now
Where’s that marina ???
Could you not have used the bits that you cut out originally?
James, please! You seem to be getting a little too comfortable sitting on your toilet when filming. 🤣😂
What are you going to do about privacy in the bathroom? Your kids are getting bigger.
👍👌🇨🇦❤
