Solent Ships is operated from Town Quay, the Old Town quarter of Southampton, where the Mayflower departed 400 years ago.
Utilising various cameras our small crew are dedicated in providing a window onto our historic waterfront in the Solent region. The ‘Captain’ of our crew is a licenced drone pilot and day skipper, with an added passion for photography.
This channel has a large library of drone footage, documenting (with commentary) the various vessels that sail by one of the busiest Ports in the UK. At Solent Ships, you can also access 24 hour live streaming video of the day-to-day movements of all shapes and sizes of marine traffic, an ever-changing view that is enjoyed by cruise ship enthusiasts and water watchers worldwide.
The channel is expanding with new camera locations and with regular live commentary and millions of views a month, Solent Ships is the most interactive shipping-based channel on RUclips. Exciting. Fab camera work. I am on Iona tomorrow with my daughter Emma so will give everyone a big wave.
Have a good trip shipmate.
Like the RNLI the Air Ambulances get no funding from the Government. I live in Derbyshire and it is amazing the places that they manage to land in. We have a lot of wooded valleys here, and they also have to avoid electricity pylons and cables and wind turbines. I donate every month to both charities, and they also have charity shops in some areas. Great video, Captain, and looking forward to when you can re-instate the cameras overlooking the Southampton Ferry Terminal.
Thanks shipmate. And indeed, amazing work is done my these air ambulances.
Very interesting Captain thank-you 🤗🎅🌲⛄❄☃️
No problem shipmate
Jings Captain. -3. Colder in Hampshire than it was in Eastern Scotland last night.
Indeed shipmate, brass monkey weather
@@SolentShips I assume that by posting this Captain, that you are aware of the supposed Nautical origin of the "brass monkey" relation to the cold.
I donate every month but did not realise it costs so much to fly per day.
I sent them a donation this year as well shipmate. I was suprised about the running costs as well.
