I actually first met Bill at a model train show in Santa Fe since that’s where I live, and that’s when I first found out about the 2926 restoration going on in Albuquerque.
Positive/Improvement comments: Positives: Great documentation. Completely enjoyable and entertaining. Got a lot out of the video. Well worth the viewing time. A visual treat. Thank you. Improvements: It is your video and I do not wish to sound like a Ken, so do as you wish, won't hurt my feelings and you should not care. The following is offered as suggested improvements for consideration, not as nagging. 1.)Lighting is everything. Not bad on this video, but always remember where the sun is located relative to the shade and camera lens. 2.)Tone down the music. Understand the need for music and it is useful, but volume is too intense. While on music, unless you are adding music for future copyright reasons (respect!), never, never, never add music over the running of 2926. Destroys the whole experience. 3.) Suggest voice over comments only. No in camera comments. Comes off less than professional. Plus, it gives you the opportunity to double check the accuracy of script and sound really knowledgeable before publishing. 4.) This final comment is a real pet peeve. The proper grammar is always to put yourself last when speaking. It is not "Me and the turntable..." It is "The turntable and I..." This phrasing shows your sophistication, an invitation and politeness to the audience. Also, you don't walk up to the counter and say "Me want a milkshake." (Unless you are a Boomer.) You say "May I have a milkshake?" Note by definition, "I" is the object doing something. By definition, "Me" is something acted upon, or in other words the turntable is just spinning you around against your will.
Personally, I found the initial music up to the 5 minute mark so incredibly annoying that fast forwarded through the video. And I typically have a huge pallet from early jazz to 180bpm drum and bass. But that... just no man. No.
What I can’t understand is, and yes I don’t live in the state. Why y’all couldn’t just acquire and remodel the Albuquerque yard as the permanent home for 2926. Is it just not worth the time or the whole round house is deemed for demolition?
MAN !!! Ya'll got a "HEAP" of work in front ya'll. (I'm assuming that 2926 and 3751 could possibly be stablemates here right ?) I need to see more of what ya'll have planned as I suspect that THERE IS MUCH MORE TO COME, but as P.T Barnum once said..."Leave 'em wanting more" ! ('Probably wasn't a P.T. Barnum quote, but it was the first thing I could think of). I'm assuming that ya'll own this property, otherwise who in their right mind would sacrifice a burned-out / rusted turn-table (such as the one you're pulling ties on), and replace it with "Beautiful Condo's" overlooking the "majestic" Albuquerque landscape. What about the former "stalls" behind the table ? 'Looks like a front-end loader and a couple of 'dozers could clean that up in no time and put in two "drop pits" w/ a moveable crane and call it a day right? Your thoughts?
Before I get further mesmerized into this fascinating table restoration...I just gotta say...God Bless you Janet !!! O.K. On with the show !
You guys should convert the former Santa Fe shops into the New Mexico State Railroad Museum, Complete with a replica of the Original Roundhouse.
Amazing progress! Great video! Looking forward to more.

nice, maybe 2926 gets to use it someday. Great work as usual, I can't wait to see 2926 stretching her legs some more.

The roundhouse has been gone since the 80s
we plan to make the railyard 2926s permanent home, but we would just build a couple stalls around the turntable and a couple pieces of rail for cars.
Ngl I dig the “Blackface” 2926 had when she was still in the park
Cool video 😊
