What about the Astrodome as a place for mixed-use development? NRG Park (originally Astrodomain) is unique in having a variety of venues in one complex. Didn't mention the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, which NRG Center (replacing the old Astrohall) and NRG Arena were built for, and which NRG Stadium had in mind along with football. And why not bring back AstroWorld on the vacant lot across 610?
They can't make any money with the Astrodome. It sounds good. Make a park out of it. There have been many great ideas and they have sounded good. It's just when they break down the numbers the money isn't there. If it was they would have made some type of use of it by now. They would be better off tearing it down.
