Personally, I think this is a stupid idea tbh. My thoughts (and yes I copied and pasted this cause I didn't want to type it all up again): Well, NRG Arena has a little stadium inside there that they use for rodeos. I say turn that area into a big theater and give the convention center part some more room. Then fix the structure and layout of the Astrodome (to where they meet health and safety codes), put new seats in there, and modernize it a little bit (don't make it too modern, but enough to where it still shows the history of the Astrodome without making it look like an eyesore). The rodeo can move into the Astrodome, UFC events or WWE PPVs can take effect there, and concerts can be hosted at the Astrodome (instead of Toyota Center or somewhere else that's used more often). There could also be a somewhat baseball diamond there as well, and maybe a MLB All-Star Series could have a game there as well (they would basically be playing in one of the most historical stadiums in MLB history). Now I'm not saying that the Houston Astro's need to move back into there (no, no no no). Minute Maid Park better fits the Astro's than the Astrodome (Minute Maid Park actually looks like a stadium an MLB team would have there).
The Astrodome was a landmark next to the NRG Stadium. The Astrodome was also a domed stadium for the Houston Astros that now play at Minute Maid Park. But the Astros played their last game at the Astrodome in 1999. In 2008, the Astrodome closed. But the Astrodome will be renovated to a event park. Probably the Astrodome won’t be called The Dome in the future, but the Astrodome will be open again and the NRG Stadium will have a operating dome again called The Dome or something else.
Spend $350 millions of dollars on a new stadium right next to the Astrodome and then try to make sense on what to do with it. Because more than 12 years after it's closing nothing has been done. Beautiful.
I'm not even from Texas & I think this is a great idea
Sooo, you're telling me that we're going to have two major stadiums right next to each other....

I wish I could take a tour in it before all of the changes take place.

So y’all just gonna forget the fact that WWE Wrestlemania 17 happened here in 2001 ...

I hope....I was only 3 when it closed....I each year I always wondered.....what height what style such coolness all in one....I hope this happens.
What a doozy1929 why did it closed?
@@angelswift3242 I know this comment is 5 years old but they closed it due to it not making safety and fire code requirements
Can't until the Astros' Minute Maid Park lease ends move in back to the Astrodome?
Awesome project! Where did you you get the 3D model of the Astrodome?
You forgot to address the "World class mosquitos"
I would love to see something to do with it!
And add a Selena statue BECUASE SHE PLAYED THERE

Just don’t tear it down or do anything stupid with it
This is from SIX YEARS ago, and still nothing has been done.... and likely never will.
Why not just a movie theater or a Houston sport shop stuff
I feel so proud cause i tougth they where gona demolishe it i was so sad
Why don’t you just use it for sporting events and keep the stadium how it is and fix it wtf
I think this plan has been scrapped. I hear a parking lot and maybe an indoor trade show complex.
I-
This idea sucks
