@@tsrghost8481 Thank you! Just checked on google maps - man, we were so close being in the Page area last year but I didn‘t know anything about White Pocket. I‘ve tagged it as a target for the next journey.

You’ve done it again! Your abstracts are amazing. I’m flabbergasted. I’ve been to Utah/southwest six times now and every trip, every day, I feel the same way as what you describe here. I hope you return for many more enchanting sessions. Your videos are the most enjoyable of all the bloggers I follow. Thanks for that.
Amazing location and amazing images. I particularly enjoy how you're now showing the view through the camera as you search for compositions. It very clearly illustrates (and reminds us) that small changes in position-left, right, up, down-can have substantial impact on the image.
This style of videos is so good. Simple, straightforward, helpful. You're easy to listen to, that's a big one for me, I get irritated at people's voices haha These photos DO look like another planet, very well done
dude, it's one of the best youtube lessons on photography I've ever seen. And it's mostly because of the pace you have here, the atmosphere, the music, the attitude. I can feel how you love photography and how you love to tell your story about it and how amazed you are by it. I subscribed.
Astounding work! I lived less than 2 hours from there and hiked, & photographed AZ for 18 years. But that was back in the '70s. I never knew it existed until now. Thank you for a mental kick to the backside.
No wonder you were stuck for words, Michael, so am I. But a pictures worth a thousand words, right. In this case... several pictures. The wide-angles, drone shots, abstracts... perfection, all of it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Your voice and videos have a 'mellow-ness' to them that makes them special! My widest prime is a 21mm...should I pick up a 14mm before heading there? We'll be visiting in October so I have some time. Thanks again for sharing your time with us.
You are a master at capturing details in busy environments. I love the way you show your technique while filming. It is so helpful to see what you see. Incredible colors and composition.
I don't often comment on videos, but just have to say how mesmorising that drone imagery was! it was like looking at something from NASA! An absolutely amazing landscape, and perfectly captured!
Ken Rockwell had one of the best pages on photography that I’ve ever seen. He had an acronym F. A. R. T. The F stands for feel. So when you’re walking past some thing, you feel something the A stands for analyze what is it about this scene that caught your attention The R stands for refined the composition kind of like what you said. the T is when you take the image. So whenever I’m out taking pictures, I’m always thinking about farts.
Your last two vlogs have been awesome Michael. Crazy landscapes combined with great tips, insight, and wonderful sound tracks that mathced up well with the vibe of the places you visited.
Hi Michael. Not sure that I've commented before but I've definitely watched and enjoyed many of your videos (and paid courses). I just wanted to say thank you for what you share and the way you share it. It always comes from a positive place. I always enjoy your happy (and mostly relaxing) views of wherever you are. Always a joy to watch - thank you
I started using a wide angle, 11-18 on a crop sensor, and I'm really enjoying it. I can get whole buildings in my pictures, and it works pretty well for people and other things. Your drone images were amazing, I hope I can learn to do that someday.
That's it! Your wonderful video pushed me over the edge. I'm getting a drone! I've photographer this location 6 times in the last four years and am going back again in September. Your drone shots were spectacular! Thanks for sharing your thought process and the resulting photos.
Ohhhhh white pocket is gorgeous!!! So alien yet mesmerizing! I was lucky enough to be there right after a storm so I got some shots with pools of water in those amazing little divots and crevices. That tree in the middle of rock was stunning. We were also there while a storm came rumbling in. I captured a shot with the bright beautiful sun on the left of one of those peaks with the storm coming in from the right. I got the shot and then got dumped on. But it was totally worth it!!
Great video, Michael. It like the reminder to look at the world around us differently. To see something else. I agree with you, I'm not super technical with photography either. I would rather focus on the picture taking rather than the technicalities which just kills my creativity. Thanks for the reminder. To each to their own. Folks should just do what works for them. There is no one right way to photograph.
What a superb location, and the images you showed from it were - as always - beautiful and at times breathtaking. I never tire of seeing your work - it always makes me want to get out and take more photos. And thanks for the tip at the end.
Astonishing shots here Michael. Looks like at or near White Pocket, AZ. I was fortunate to get my own pics there. Extremely difficult place to get out to. I used a tour guide & fortunately this allowed me to just concentrate on my shooting & not worry about getting stuck in the sand in the drive. I agree it was so very hard not to be overwhelmed by this jaw dropping area.
I follow you on Instagram and just found this RUclips channel. I am so happy to learn how you compose and take images! Thanks for sharing and teaching. You are an amazing photographer!
Incredible images! This is the perfect location for wide angle shooting. The swirling textured everywhere you look are perfect for exaggerating into some awesome compositions. Well done!
Mind blown Michael!! You really struck it rich with this one. Alien is the perfect description. One of my favorites though was the lone tree at the end of that mushroomy valley. The juxtaposition of that alien landscape with the so familiar pine, was just mind bending. Thanks for taking us along
Thank you so much, I am so glad you enjoyed the video. That tree shot ended up being a personal favorite as well. I shot a similar frame back in 2018, but just didn't quite get what I was looking for, so this was kinda like a re-do on it haha.
What an incredible location, fail to see how you could come away without a few keepers. Love the last portrait with the sole tree. It’s like what on Earth are you doing there ? quick check that we are on Earth 🤔👌
I was lucky enough to be there a year ago. It was amazing but overwhelming. Seeing it again through your eyes was fascinating. I loved the advice you offered and I'll be keeping it in mind during my next photo trips.
Wow wow wow ! these shots are mind blowing ! Yes to me the " rules " are to be a guide, sometimes, but you still need to think outside the square and take in what you see as in, varying patterns and textures, after following your Videos for some time I am learning to stop and look, and it can very satisfying as what you capture once loaded on to the computer ! Cheers and very well captured, from NZ
Another great video, Michael. What an amazing location!! Your tips about abstract landscape photography are very useful. I also really like your more “off the cuff” comment when you said that you tend to take a wider, more general shot of a location first and then start focusing in on greater detail. You never disappoint! Keep up the great work.
Super cool area... So many great textures and structures. As much as I like the drone shots, i like the wide angle shots the most. They give the already very surreal terrain a whole more of it to the image. Love it. Thanks for sharing this stunning place.
Geology continues to amaze, definitely an otherworldly feel Michael. Compare some of the drone footage to the clouds of Jupiter. Thanks for sharing again. Stay safe 🇦🇺
Really enjoyed this video Michael. I've been to this spot on two occasions and can attest to what a great photographic adventure it is. I never did much in the way of telephoto or abstract imagery either time, so maybe I have to visit again. This area lends itself so much to be photographed from above, and you captured it well with your drone images.

As always, stunning, beautiful, amazing and any orher words for WOW! Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
I loved the highlights on the rocks against the blue sky. And that lone tree at the end was epic minimalistic. Nice mixture of abstract and landscape.
Composition is the thing I struggle the most. I really loved this vlog. Congratulations

The wide-angle shots are amazing as usual but the drone shots are better than amazing, they are exceptional, they are the perfect 10.
Great, great, great!!!!!
The music editing really lifted this video. Great stuff Michael.
