Tree at 9min 30 sec is my absolute favorite...maybe of all tree/canyon shots I've seen from ANYONE. You have a LOT of great photos in this video, but that one is WOW!!!!
Thanks for this. I was one of those told I can only shoot in golden hour and blue hour and if I shoot at any other time, it had to be black and white. It was like being put into a straight jacket and the person that gave me that advice, his pictures are all the same - mostly orange and rather boring after a while. It was the worst piece of photography advice I have received. You have shown that not only is it possible to photograph outside of golden/blue hours and on a sunny, blue sky day, it is important to do so. We are missing on so much if we confine ourselves to just the golden/blue hours and non blue-sky day. I try now to work with the conditions I have and feel it is much more rewarding, even if I sometimes don’t come away with great images
Call me weird but I love clear blue sky days. I laugh when people complain about it. I have no issue finding things to photograph. Great photos you took on your trip.
Your eye for color and composition is amazing. I really love your photos. I assume your ratio of keepers is relatively high. I admire your skills and creative vision. Thank you so much for sharing. I also find your videos very relaxing and enjoyable to watch, just enough tech, not too much. A little bit of music. Nice job, all around.
The four photos of the rocks - couldn't choose one; they all appealed to me. The tree photos: all of them were great! Would love to have shot any of them!
I travel a lot for work. Often the limited time I have to explore before heading home is not the best time to photograph. So I've learned to do many of the things you talked about.
Really enjoying your videos. I'm transforming my channel from a hiking/backpacking experience to nature photography/videography. You are quickly becoming my model of presentation for this. I like how you offer enough technical information to help a fledgling amateur (like me), as well as the artistic thoughts behind the shoot. I'm learning a lot here. Thanks for sharing!
You can make a living with your voice as well😂😂. I like the way you frequently stress the nature's beauties, sooooo beautiful, incredible, hahaha, full of passion 🎉🎉🎉🎉
It depends on the location too. Arizona/ Sedona is perfect on days like that. Warm tones in the rocks and cool tones in the sky. They were some of my favorite images of that trip and they were all mid day sun.
Hi Michael, great images and information. Last month I had the opportunity to visit the Badlands National Park, had a great time. Mostly had bright blue skies but did my best to work with it, I did get some keepers. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Michael. As much as I enjoyed your daytime shots, the best really were from just before sunset and beyond - loved the one with that tree with the 'eye' in the middle the best
Loved image no 3, contrast of blue and orange. The images of the light on just the trees against a dark background were stunning in their simplicity though 👌
Great video. Enjoyed being inspired to explore more blue sky days with my camera…btw…Photographing landscape means for me photograping what’s in the landscape…even poop… You can always have fun letting the viewer guess what animal pooped… That skill is sometimes good to have when tracking wildlife anyway…IMHO…
Wow!! Truly magnificent scenery and awesome images! Love them all very much and really beautiful when you use the contrast of light and shadows, textures and reflections! Thank you for sharing them!🥰
Fantastic photos Michael! I live about 45 minutes from VOF and need to go more often. I just have a hard time walking due to spinal injuries and I have fallen a couple times at VOF, but I have to go again!!
Something tells me I make too many photographs of pareidolia, I'm seeing one in the photos around 5:50. Photos I like a lot, actually. Quite a few I do admire in this video. Thanks for sharing these beauties with us.
Hey Michael. having lived in Santa Fe and NorCal, I certainly appreciate these beautiful locations and your perspectives on photographing some of my favorite locations. You are very creative in your vision, and proof that the best equipment any photographer can hope to have is their own two eyes!
Your videos and photos continue to inspire! Absolutely love your work and hope that one day I can get a photo or two that rivals yours! Thanks for sharing!
I like image 1 best. It has the most contrast, color and interest for me.
So images number 2 is Beautiful I like the colors in the stone.
Love it! Days are more the two hours bounding sunrise and sunset!
Hey thanks, agreed!
These are some of the nicest images that I’ve seen this year so far. Great work Michael 👍
That is incredibly kind of you to say, thank you so much Paul!
I think all 4 are my favorite
The first one is the best.
Image 2 for those layers of colors 👏🏻
thank you!
Hi 2 and 3 - such gentle colours and texture.
number 3, my favorite
Thanks, glad you like that one!
I recently bought a Tamron 150-500 for my Sony, and I have to say I am really am liking “telephoto” photography
Image 3 for me. Beautiful images of texture and color.
Absolutely love how you can create art in lesser than situations. So talented!
Cottonwoods are absolutely amazing. My faves for sure.
Tree at 9min 30 sec is my absolute favorite...maybe of all tree/canyon shots I've seen from ANYONE. You have a LOT of great photos in this video, but that one is WOW!!!!
Wow, that is a really nice thing to say, thank you so much!
Image 1 all the way. Love the depth in it
As far as sheer number of fantastic images, this might be your best video to date! So blown away right now!
Thank you so much! :)
Image 2.....all are amazing

Love no. 1, also loved my visit to Valley of Fire😃
Call me weird but I love clear blue sky days. I laugh when people complain about it. I have no issue finding things to photograph. Great photos you took on your trip.
Agreed! Thanks so much!
I lean towards BW so bright skies are no big deal. I pull out the BW IR camera and cloudless skies become black puddles.
I love big gnarly clouds
Image 2 is my favourite.
Very interesting compositions of the trees against the rock backgrounds. Very inspiring indeed.
Thanks so much!
Image 1, mainly due to the contrast. But they’re all nice.
Thanks Michael, glad you like it!
Lovely photographs, I think this location really benifit by the clearblue sky.

That summer road trip looks like it's gonna happen. Gerrin touch...
Lets go man!
Absolutely amazing images with trees Michael 😮
Beautiful and inspirational

I've been shooting for about 30 years. You're photography here inspired me to get out and shoot w/a new eye. Awesome images and great advice.
Magnificent!
Love valley of fire….image #2
Image 4 is absolutely gorgeous 😍
Michael, thanks for inspiring me with this video.
I love the images you produce, and thought processes you use are so instructive.👏👏
Love how waiting till after sunset, there are no distracting shadows on the trees in the last few images 👌
Its definitely one of my favorite times of day to do this type of photography, thanks so much!
@@MichaelShainblum All good mate 🍺🤙
Thanks Michael, love this episode. So necessary.
So glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much!
Thank you, really like your casual / normal approach and explanations. Best wishes!

Liked them all Michael
Thanks Richard!
A good one, again. Thanks Michael!
Michael, beautiful, beautiful, beautiful work. Some amazing colors and textures in todays work. Great job
Beautiful images and "personality" of the trees! Thanks to your video my bucket list has gained another location!
Thanks Larry!
My go to lens for about 90% of my work is Nikon's f mount 24-120 mm d.4. * All 4 are great. My personal favorite is 1.
Something about the patterns in image 4 captured my imagination. Love the color contrasts in the first three though. Great vid! Thanks!
At 5:46 lower center right the lines in the rock look like a sketch of mountains...so cool!
I chose pic 2. Thanks for sharing. Gorgeous photos
This was beautiful, Michael!
Wow; some wonderful images there Michael from a fabulous location.
Thank you :)

Wow....amazing.
My word what beautiful territory. Loved the sequence about shadows’ edge. The 2” exposure of the tree (at 9:21) made me crazy with happiness!
Really glad you enjoyed that part, thanks so much!
Work WITH the lighting and not against it. Tip of the day 🏆
Thanks so much man!
#3 for sure. Amazing compositions and edits as always! Thanks Michael.
Awesome work Michael. So far, this is my fav show.
superb! Michael, these photos are spectacular.
Thanks so much!

I like your music selections.
Hey thanks, glad you enjoyed the soundtrack!
Love the tree images!!! WOW! From the group of stone wall images, number two was my favorite.
All great but number 2 stood out to me 🙂
Thanks Michael. As much as I enjoyed your daytime shots, the best really were from just before sunset and beyond - loved the one with that tree with the 'eye' in the middle the best
Oh boy I love the images in this video! You have an amazing artistic eye mate! 😍👍🏻
I love all those tree photos. Beautifully edited as well.
Loved image no 3, contrast of blue and orange. The images of the light on just the trees against a dark background were stunning in their simplicity though 👌
Always inspiring and always creating amazing graphic images, thanks for sharing Michael.
Thank you for this, although it's not usually a problem I have when at home in the UK!
Nr. 3. A little like the island of Leka there, the only island is Norway that was a leftover from the American continent.
Awesome vid. 1 n 3.
some wonderful photo you have taken. Must add to my bucket list when the time comes I can travel through America
I feel like I'm going to find ASMR in the tags of this video. You're such a pleasing voice lol
You really scored some unique and beautiful images! Very impressive. Thanks for taking me along!
Thanks so much Randy!

Its a beautiful park, definitely tough terrain to navigate though, alots of cool things to see not far from the road though. Thanks so much Greg!

Superb photography and useful video. One of the few educational ones that have a high content quality to video lenght ratio!
Thank you so much!
Awesome and inspirational stuff, Michael. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the video
