i actually think premier is a good contributor towards the energy of the live performance and as others have stated he allows nas to save his energy and breath while also hyping up the crowd. i don't think ppl realize that he had to work to memorize the last word of every line in the song.

DJ Premier is a legend but he was overdoing it with the typical sound of DJ yelling in the background. It's hard for me to criticize him because of his great work. Him and Nas make a great team.

Why does Nas yell when he is rapping and he always leaves out words live. In One Mic live he says like 10 words in the entire song. He isnt even that old either, but mad respect for this guy. My inspiration

TO ALL THE PEOPLE COMMENTING ON DJ PREMIER'S 'INTERRUPTIONS': he is merely saying nas' punchlines so nas has time to take breaths in between his verse. reciting lyrics in a recording booth is much easier than yelling them at a concert. the purpose of a hypeman is not just to get the crowd going, they're are also there to help out the mc when he needs a break. and its not like premo is doing it against nas' will, if u notice nas raises his tone at the end when he wants premo to help him out.
