    Thank you so much! My Chem. teacher didn't explain what this was, how to do it, or even what the goal really was to it and just threw us into a lab centered around it. I've been freaking out because every video I watched didn't explain that you took the subscript of a polyatomic ion only and I was getting so confused. I think I'll be able to go to school tomorrow and finish the lab fairly accurately. Thanks a million.

      You are so welcome Hailee! I'm always happy to explain concepts 😊

    • @SolidSiren
      @SolidSiren 4 года назад +1

      No no...you DONT take the subscripts. You ONLY look at the charge of each element or polyatomic ion. You ignore the subscript because it will just be a multiplier. I believe you can actually just multiply the charge by the subscript of every element or polyatomic ion, as long as you do it for every constituent of the equation.

    hey, what about if were looking at single replacement equations where there are three elements were dealing with?
    A+BC ---> B+AC or A+BC ---> C+BA

    your videos are so amazing and much appreciated. I struggle so much with chemistry, math, etc... pretty much all of the sciences! lol. I took chemistry a few years ago in school but then I dropped out and I let challenging classes like math and chem get the best of me and I convinced myself they 'Weren't for me'. I am back in school now trying to finish my bachelors because I way more motivated to be in school now that I am a bit older! yay! But omg these classes are spirit crushing, especially because I dont learn the way the teachers actually teach. I sit in a dark classroom as they lecture through power point slides and barely have any interaction with the class. Teachers speed through equations and practice problems and do not teach dynamically and explain from various angles. If it wasn't for videos like yours, I would be on my way to thinking I would fail and drop out once again and stop myself from pursuing my dreams in the long run. This is way longer of a comment i intended to leave and i could continue ranting about the flaws so many classroom settings have, and how grateful I am for people like you! These resources and videos are priceless and your passion and energy is contagious. Thank you so much, looking forward to watching more and being more involved on your page!

      Sara I was in the same situation you were in ..... being an older student and knowing how some of the professors make you feel like you should already know this stuff. I returned to school in 2016 to obtain my degree as well and I am so happy I found Melissa’s videos. She truly is the best and I appreciate her as well for all her help!!!! Good luck with your degree .... you can do this!!!!!!
