What SSD should you buy?
The Crucial X9 Pro is compact and affordable, the Crucial X10 Pro is a little bit more expensive but offers faster speeds.
If you are using a Mac, I love the San Disk Professional Pro G40 because it gets some of the fastest speeds of a portable drive on a Mac!
But if you want a ton of drives, get the San Disk Professional Pro Blade SSDs because they offer a great modular setup!

Your suggestion and videos on the ProBlade SSDs gave me the solution I was looking for. I bought the 16TB Station (4TBx4) and the transport and using Carbon Copy Cloner to back them up to my 40TB G-Raid.

Are the G40s included in the list of SSDs Western Digital is getting sued for?

No, I think that's just the Extreme Pro/Extreme Portable SSDs that had the issues. The Pro G40 uses a completely different design, controller, and even SSD.
