7:04 “Don’t be afraid to mess up!” Wow! Possibly the most important words any artist - young or old - needs to hear! 😳❤️
Wild Eye I’m just going to skip over the musically prejudiced part of that and ask what you meant by bell(?)
The best Captain meets so far. Please have tyler back again asap. Awesome.
He met the fiancé, he should meet the fiancée
@@slurpeexyza17 definitely Larkin poe
I've known him since he was a kid...a Good person with talent and supportive parents. Great interview.
I know a friend who met Tyler at least 2 times throughout the last two years, and he said Tyler is one of the friendliest, down to earth, and prolific musicians he's ever met! Awesome interview with him, as he truly lives up to that!
i second that! met him last year, really down to earth and kind guy
@@julienverveer748 Ahhh exactly my man! He seems to gentle and really knows that he's doing!
I’ve met and talked to Tyler twice- He is just as he appears in this interview. The guy lives music 24/7. Cares about his fans and supporters. Great live band.
@@flyingburritobro68 Awesome to hear man! He truly is an outgoing musician!
I agree, he’s a really friendly guy who really engages with his fans. Last Christmas I bought the TB Drive, just before he bought out the pink version, so I contacted him via Instagram to see if the circuitry differed from the pedal I’d bought. He was humble enough to reply personally, and was really friendly, sure he had better things to do at Christmas but that’s TB for you!
Holy Shit! What a player! What an origin story! His life is a movie script! And at his age! I've got socks older than this guy!
There is a movie about him. Its about his origin, his playing and how similar he is to rock gods of the past. Its called "rock prophecies".
@@zolcolt Hard to find, but very good. Found Tyler in 2009 or some crap... AMAZING player.
This is so cool! Been a fan of Tyler’s since “Rock Prophecies”. He wrote a song dedicated to his friend Roosevelt who died a few years back called “Shackles. Unbelievable song. Amazing slide guitar. Edit: Tyler’s so humble. He talks like he was just an okay player when he was 17 but he was a beast. Like a prodigy.
One of the sweetest guys in rock & roll...and a mad man once he gets on stage. Great interview, TB. See you in Nash.
Been following Tyler's career since he was playing MusicMan guitars. Dude's a beast. People are often fooled by his looks, but he is both a monster blues player and rock player. The band is awesome, his fiancé's band is amazing as well (Larkin Poe).
I feel like I’m late to the party having just found Tyler and his band. Such a cool dude and their music is absolutely killer.
Holy crap Anderton's you've done it again!! I have seen Tyler 4 times in concert and he is one of our local boys here in Texas. Thank you so much for getting him on!
TheGomer321 Texas boys do it right!
I had the opportunity to open for Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown about 6 years ago... they will melt your face... and they are awesome dudes. Tyler was (so young) but so easy to talk to, and way too willing to let me play is his pink strat. (The jeff beck pink strat). So happy for this young man's success! Class act and a MASSIVE talent.
Tyler Bryant is an amazing guitarist! Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown are an awesome band live! They are down to earth people and truly enjoy what they do. I have met them twice and can't wait to see them again!
This guy needs to be on top of the charts, not what's on it now. His music is amazing.
What a humble young talent. Restores my faith in young musicians. Great job.
He‘s around for a while now! I think Tyler have the absolute heart and soul of what I believe a modern blues rock player should have! I love his band!! It’s awesome!!
"Rock and Roll is just Blues with longer hair" is one of the best music quotes I've ever heard.
Wow, just listen when Tyler is off camera playing with 0 volume, just fantastic!
I usually play these so I can sleep. But I don’t know this guy and I’m already 21 minutes in and love it. It’s 11:30 P.M EST when I am currently typing this. I need to go to sleep. But oh well
Intro Jam: NASTY!!!😎. Outstanding. Let me play that back again!!!
I saw Tyler play solo opening for Jeff Beck and ZZ Top in Las Vegas a few years ago. He’s awesome!
Fantastic!! I absolutely love his playing. Incredibly inspirational to me and makes me wanna pick up the guitar every time i see him! I wish him the best.
Tyler without his Pink Strat?! I want my money back! 😂
thats cap old strat
Luka Relic it’s clearly not lmao... it’s the captains Olympic white relic😂
Luka, get some glasses. It's not pink.
Luka, you're blind. Watch his rig rundown.
I first heard of Tyler when he was standing in front of me on a stage, just him and his guitar. He was opening for ZZ Top and Jeff Beck. I was most impressed with his show of the three because it was just him and his guitar and nothing else, and he played it! Met him after his set and got him to sign the two CD’s of his I bought. Nice guy.
Man I love The Shakedown. I took my boy to see them at Dingwalls and they blew my mind. I’ve been to a shit ton of gigs and the energy these guys have live is fierce!! Real high octane rock and roll. We were buzzing for weeks literally.
Haven't yet really heard of Tyler Bryant (& the Shakedown) 'til now... Seems like a super cool dude and a sick player. Amazing stories to back it all up!
What a together, mature dude.
This band is awesom and have the real rock&roll stuff. Tyler, he’s a new guitar god, full of blues vibes and rock.Great vid, liked it a lot. Do more of those.
One of the most refeshing interviews I have watched the captain do . I will be checking out the band. I love the vibe Tyler Bryant has. Great job.
Next up..the Captain meets Larkin Poe
YES!!!!
Oh absolutely yes, love them!
Andertons Music Co. will never be the same!
I saw em first man
Samantha Fish too.
It's been very good for this grumpy old man to watch the interviews that you and TPS have done with these young players. In addition to being great musicians, they are lovely young guys with no swagger, and they respect and celebrate what has gone before and try to build on it. I'm thinking of people like Tyler, Jared James Nichols, Joey Landreth, Chris Buck, Ariel Posen and John Smith. I'm significantly less grumpy as a result. Thanks Lee (and Mick and Dan).
Met Tyler when he was supporting the cadillac 3 in Glasgow, such a nice guy, phenominal live
That ScottishDude nice gear on your profile pic
What a top chap, first discovered tyler many years ago when i saw him play with hubert sumlin and bonamassa and he was incredible. Followed him ever since and i remember the pinky incident when it happened, really felt for him. So glad pete bought that up as i never knew he got it back!! Wow! Welcome to uk tyler and best of luck
Music's future is in a good place thanks to people like him.
Saw their show on Rock in Rio in 2017 on TV and damn what a great band. Glad to see him here on Anderton's
It’s interesting to hear him say he was into punk rock (NoFx and al these bands). I definitely did not expect that. I also went from punk rock to classic rock 🎸 ✨🤘🏻
Cool dude and great interview. Gonna keep an eye out for sure.
Thanks, cap.
Cheers
Edit: respect for rivercity guitars for what they did. Very cool.
I love how he throws in some interesting note choices within those really satisfying pentatonic runs. Reminds me of Frampton a bit and makes his playing stand out all that much more
Remember digging into his music with that beautiful song called “the wayside” ... Great one, loved it so much that I put an humbucker as my Stratocaster bridge pickup lol Rock on Tyler!
This is a great story. Sometimes all it takes is that ONE person to inspire you. His story reminds me a lot of Skynyrds Ballad of Curtis Lowe.
I've seen tyler bryant and the shakedown in Paris at the end of last year and OMG that slap in my face!!!!
I first saw Tyler in that jam with Jared James Nichols at Norm's Rare Guitars. Dude is a monster with incredible phrasing and tone.
Heard they're writing music together now. Looking forward to what comes out of that collaboration!
I've just discovered Tyler Bryant and the shakedown, they are so awesome. I've got see them live next time they come to the uk 😀
Great interview period. Take a seat, listen and enjoy
Wow!
Amazing and inspirational. What a beautiful human.
Thanks Lee for making these very personal interviews.
Intended or not, you are creating a really cool digital archive of Industry folks stories.
great stuff.
mmm....... reckon we could run some cool AI over.......
I've been following Tyler for awhile. Very good player, and a nice guy. My favorite thing that he does, is his resonator slide playing. ( I lived in Nashville in the early 80's..It's always been brutal.)
Excellent interviewer, excellent interviewee. What a great guy and player. That tone too!
Don't know if this has been suggested or if it's a thing but you should make these available as a podcast as well. Would be great!
Great interview !
I saw them in Paris opening for Guns n' Roses, killer show, they sounded very good. Great old school type player too.
Just found this band, so good
What a cool dude. Smart, down to Earth and smashing player.
been a fan since his first cd , great artist
I'm very glad to see and hear this but I wish I had stumbled across it sooner!
Excellent.
What a cool guy and a monster player.
This session was great!! I've been following Tyler for about a year now and he and his band are awesome!
Tyler Bryant is a beast loves how he uses dynamics gets in it when its time to dig into a guitar solo, he's a great songwriter too.
amazing story
I love TBSD! Great band, full of talent!
Oh shit, I follow him on IG. He's a great player with some niiice tones. Congratulations, Tyler!! 👏👏👏🎸🎶🎉
What a great interview. I hope tyler bryant gets all the success he clearly deserves. Also Lee that was your best captain meets yet. P.s i did work experience at your shop just as you were moving from hayden place to Woodbridge road and remember you playing more than words on my washburn kc90 that i bought in. All the best!
Stunning Content and Interview, I recently discovered Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown via Fender on RUclips. Amazing guitarist and band. I just ordered their last cd and can't wait for delivery.
He is amazing
What a lovely, grounded, intelligent chap.
Brilliant, enlightening interview with a fantastic guitarist - great work Cap!
i loved this and made my mom and wife watch too :) Tyler is a sweet MFin badass and one of my favorite people
Checked him and band out for first time.... Wow They are Great!!!!
I dreamt of Tyler being on here one day!!! It happened much sooner than I was thinking!!!
Sickest opening jam so far
just heard of this kid today... definitely a fan!
Saw Tyler Bryant and the shakedown open for GN'R at the London stadium back in 2017, they were awesome 🤘
Great interview!!
I'm not familiar with Tyler, but he's quite a down to earth, pleasant, and wise young man.
no one is wise at that age...
He does seem like a good guy. Have you heard/seen this guY? ruclips.net/video/XZ4qIvt1VZc/видео.html
Aaaaand the main thing - he absolutely rips on the guitar
14:43 When I first bought Rumours (by Fleetwood Mac) I was like "Huh. I don't know..." Now, it's one of my all time favorite albums, and a go to whenever I'm reading, writing, drawing, or just sitting around.
Great story about getting befriended by a proper blues artist to learn from. I knew the "Pinky" story but still cool to hear it again. Glad there are young artist's like him to carry on the Rock N Roll torch .Not to mention he's engaged to Rebecca Lovell from "Larkin Poe" who's band also kicks ass ! Fantastic interview Lee ! :-)
Just saw TB and the shakedown open for black stone cherry. It was a great show!!
I thoroughly enjoyed that!! He’s a very good slide player too 👍
I was looking forward to this for a week! I love the captain meets series. I’ve been following Tyler for a long time now. Love your style man! Crazy awesome guitar chops! I hope you guys go really far man!
Best sounding strat i've heard in a while.
Great interview, hope to see some more of this. Deffo need a sound like Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown
saw the shakedown open for AC/DC in seville a few years ago. absolutely smashed it.
Never heard of him , now love him
Lee conducts a great interview.
He needs to let his interviewee talk more. He stammers and interrupts too much.
This is such an encouragement to me, I’ve been really thinking about moving to Nashville but have always wondered if I’m skilled enough.
One day I’ll be on this show
Found the Alan Haynes album, great stuff!!
Thanks for working on the weekend Cap't!
Great interview! Tyler seems like such a cool dude!
wow this kid is young. i saw all those bands in concert at the heights of their careers
Wasn't he given like a real vintage strat worth like 30 grand when he was a kid? I forgot who gave it to him but it was somebody famous. Crazy story. His life story is pretty awesome and he's a fantastic player. I love his bending and vibrato.
It was Don Nelson, who at the time was the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks NBA team.
Yeah a 1960 just like mine
@NolanVoid-dr1ch your 1960 strat cost 99?
apologies but i'd not heard much from this lad and his band but after doing some searching i am well impressed, love the dirty strat blues rock, thanks for this interview
He is really great musician
Nofx! I'm glad to hear that
Awesome interview, and the story about Pinky & Pinky II was amazing!
I'm glad he explained what his wrist tattoo is, I've always wondered
Awesome young man.
Sweet tone!
Saw him open for Guns in Oklahoma City in October ‘19. Damn fine band!
I have watched every video on his RUclips! absolutely fan... tastic!
This..was..excellent!
Great interview. Really glad to find this band. Been listening to them solid for a couple of weeks. Seems to be a fine young man also... I wanted to comment on your spot on comment regarding being efficient with notes on a lead. Tyler gets it and I couldn't agree more. Right note at the right time means everything. Someone who is in my opinion the epitimany of this style is Elliott Easton of THe Cars. His leads on the old Cars hits are never more than 8 or so measures and it makes the entire song. He's a great interview and always willing to share his guitar knowledge. (A Berklee grad also) I'm sure he would agree to an interview if you made contact. Thanks again for making great Vids. Always informative and fun to watch. All the best to Rob, Pete, Rabea and the rest... /Ron
Awesome dude and incredible guitar player!
