    I really like DC reels for Spinnerbaits. Just handles them bulky wind catching baits better than anything else.

      I thought the same thing about the SLX DC but the Curado DC is just so dang smooooooth.

      @@DoubleKOutdoors I have a JDM Scorpion DC with the DC 5 system, which is just below the 4x8 DC system you get with the Metanium and Antares. The SLX DC I don't think is worth it unless you get the JDM SLX XT DC, which is equipped with the DC5 system. It's unfortunate that we have to spend $500 here in the US to get into the DC5 system. I think I paid $180 for my Scorpion DC this past summer when the Yen crashed.

      This is the exact reason I love to converse with other anglers. There is such a wealth of knowledge between us and I love to share mine. Thank you for the information provided. I honestly didn't know some of that.

    I’m 13 and the curado dc is great for reeling baits in my opinion but I like to have metaniums or chronarchs for jigs and flipping

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  Год назад

      Welcome and thank you for your comment. I agree that the Curado DC is a great reel. It's very smooth and easy to use. I have a goal that one day I'll have a Metanium and a Chronarch. Those are some very expensive reels but if they are anything like the Curado, I'm sure they are well worth it.

    If i get the curado dc with 40 lb 8x braid should I get the 150 or 200 because i have seen my friend unspool the whole spool in 1 cast and i think you could Throw it farther if you have a bigger spool. Please Help

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  Год назад

      Honestly... I've never even come close to spooling my 150. I've thrown some heavier baits that are about 1 ounce to 1.5 ounces. I think it might be doable, but it would take some work. With my bass fishing in freshwater, I don't have the need for a 200 yard cast. Fishing salt... possibly. That being said, I would base my decision on how far your average cast is. Less than 100 yards, get the 150. Anything over 100 yards, get the 200.

    I clicked bc I saw the tfo rod in the thumbnail. They are the best rods on the market in my opinion

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  Год назад

      I purchased it on a whim. I was at a Bass Pro Shops and was talking to the guy that works in the fishing department and he was telling me how great the rods were and for the price, your getting way more than expected. I've been impressed with it and it's my favorite rod. I actually keep it better protected than all the others.

    Adjust your spool tensioner

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  8 месяцев назад

      I did some minor adjustments on the tension. It was more of a learning curve for me. Since I made the initial changes from this video, I have not had to touch them again. The Shimano Curado DC is by far my favorite reel at the moment. I'm planning on buying more. Once I can afford it... Metanium!

    Hi bro I'm about big it this morning, and try.. never use it before .. but the sale man at Sportman ware house saying this reel is not good for catfish..? Is that true..???

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  8 месяцев назад

      I think that would depend on the size of the catfish you're going after. I would think up to 15lbs, you'd be alright but if you're going after the big girls, like blue catfish, then I would use a spinning reel.

    What’s the pound test on the braid you are using on the Curado DC?

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  Год назад

      Pretty sure it's 30 pound. I rarely go above that. If I do its only up to 40. Diawa J braid is my preferred brand as well

    What Daiwa pole is that?

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  Год назад

      It's actually not a Diawa rod. It does look similar to them though and I do have some of their rods. The one in this video is a TFO rod. Specifically model TFG PSC 705-1. It's a medium heavy rod with a fast tip. Designed for 3/8oz to 1oz lures with 8lb-17lb line. I absolutely love this rod. Has enough backbone with just enough flex in the tip to make working a top water bait easy.

    • @DoubleKOutdoors
      @DoubleKOutdoors  Год назад +2

      Oh! My bad. Yes that is 100% a Diawa rod. It's the Daiwa Aird-X series. Model AIRX701MHFB. What's that translates to is, it's a 7ft rod that's a meduim heavy build with a fast action tip. It's made for 1/4oz to 1oz lures and 10lb-20lb line. I actually have 2 of them currently. They won't break the bank and they are sensitive. I've used it for multiple types of fishing and where I found that it really shines is with soft plastics. That could be just me and the way I fish though. Overall, great rod for a beginner or novice that won't empty your wallet AND is versatile.
