This rail is around* the size of the contact point of 1 train wheel. The rail handles 400 tons without any damage. It would be impossible for even the heaviest of trains to have 1000 tons of weight even in 1 freight car so with the both tracks being able to hold the contact points of the wheels under 1 container, 400 ish tons in this small of an area makes it even stronger than it has to be.
@@Nick-cp8wf ... also consider that a 150 ton locomotive will have at least 8 points of contact with the rail, spread out over many feet. That works out to under 20 tons per contact point.
hmm, the big rail doesnt surprise me because they need to handle hundreds of tonnes on them. The small rail however, (i assume it was narrow gauge) was weaker than i thought.
I'm currently riding on a train and I was daydreaming and looking out the window. I wondered if anyone on the internet has ever tried this. And you have. Thanks.
The piston of the press is wiggling, has a play sideways and does not press straight down. Train wheels apply the load vertically. Okey, train wheels apply the force on a very short distance due to the radius of the wheel.

people are scared of investing because of high rate of scammers on the market.
@Beckley Smith The stock market is a vast platform to invest in. It's very profitable especially when you've got a trusted professional to assist you!
This is highest pressure I’ve ever seen being applied to something. 450 tons is absurdly high… omg
Hey, it’s not pressure, it is force. Pressure or stress is defined as force per unit area. P=F/A

Because I can easily get a 500t press in any hardware store at any time?🤣

Hydraulic press is next level ❤️
What is the metal used on the Hydraulic press that it can withstand these forces without any damage?
Is not only the metal, the form also is important.
Probably just hardened and tempered steel, could be many to choose from like tool steel to the 1xxx series
It is made of stainless steel and hydraulic fluid
Hi there good job but the plexiglass might need to be thicker? Just incase next time. Hope your both doing well. Also hello from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦.

about the same as an Old style Leatherman Pliers....pinching your fingers when the slip off things.....Damn !! Incredible force, x's 100's...
Awesome
this is the first time i see rust coming loose from rust :)
অনেক ভালো লাগলো , ধন্যবাদ।
Wow anazing😳
Bravo!!!
Surprising result. I figured since it has to hold the weight of freight trains, 500 tons should be no problem for it
Remember that the 500t train is very long and has many points of touch, so you have to divide it

Can you mix 2 magnets together which are in same direction?
Two years later, the world wants to know: What are you talking about?
If one small is this strong imagine the longer ones
That's the power of hydraulic pressure

What unit of weight is this?
Thé disclaimer at the start was not needed because who just has a 500 ton hydraulic press that they can use to recreate this
