Xena - "I lost one of those good chewing teeth but other than that I'm fine." Out of all the wonderful lines about "what is morality and justice" as the theme of this episode, that has to be my favorite line.
I surprise the warriors in those days are not toothless. I guess they evolve to have stronger jaws because in those days fighting was key to survival. Nowadays we rarely fight, you know what I mean.
Lawless is flawless as Xena!! I so wish this show was still on even it had a little bit to much comedy in some episodes. Not as much as Hercules show though.
Frankly I have no issue with Najara's extreme methods, but what really alienates her is her lack of sense of responsibility. She thinks killing innocents is no big deal because the light correct her mistakes. She's the most dangerous type of villain. The one hides behind good deeds.

I ADORE her dark feel in that last fight! And her face at 4:38 - 4:40... I feel it sooo much... The satisfaction of seeing the person you hate vulnerable at your mercy all exposed to your revenge...😂
Once Xena knew Gabby was on her side and not gonna be lost to Najara, Xena could finally focus. I don't care what anyone says. She only got beat up the first time because she thought she had lost Gabby forever. Once she had Gabby back she destroyed Najara!
But that does count just like the fight the first time did not count. They were both distracted by Gabrielle lol. Najara was not fighting her best because Gabrielle was in danger. The third fight on the vine was better both were not distracted.
I love this channel because it shows the whole fights and doesn't click bait Even though I own this series and it is my childhood series it's always awesome to watch some xena clips on this channel.
A shame they didn’t reveal the identity of the Djinn - those voices in Najara’s head speaking to her. They couldn’t have been a figment of her imagination - they knew when Xena had a vision of her own death. Najara would have made an interesting anti-hero with the right plot.
Enrique Maybe later on they were a figment of her imagination, but do you remember that scene where Xena had her death vision, and Najara confirmed the Djinn told her about that vision? They couldn’t have been figments of her imagination.
Maybe "the djinn" were actually a supernatural force, but she was insane (probably, a schizophrenic) and both would be mixed up into her mind, and therefore, her twisted sense of justice...but we'll never know =(
All I know is, I would have hated it if the Djinn was revealed to be Aries in disguise. Given Aries has a history of seeking out female warriors, he would have easily had the power as a god to disguise himself as this mysterious entity. If that ended up being the case, I would have been let down that they used an existing character.
I'd also be mad if it was Aries only because he's somewhat of an overused character. I like Aries but at the same time he tends to have a hand in a lot things that go on in the world of Xena and it gets kinda annoying. So it'd be nice to see someone else pulling strings for once.
Najara was so creepy.. Even her voice creeps me out >.< It's too sweet, too soft, too weird/creepy (great acting on that part, I might add. My gut is telling me to stay very far away from her xD). 'Good cheewing teeth' Lol xD I wouldn't be surprised if that was Lucy's idea to call it like that XD

Plus, she is one of the prime membres of the justice league and they follow certain tenants. Superman and others would never tolerate such behavior. Whats your source ?
When ppl don’t believe proper female representation existed! Xena exists, she was/is so cool, she was powerful but with feminine charm. She’s an original female character with her own story and legend that is still timeless. Gen Z and new writers take notes!

Well it already stated that Callisto is a better fighter than Xena. However Callisto let her angry get the better of herself. It cloud her judgment. And for Najara the reason why she beat xena in the first place many reasons -one xena was just thinking about the vision about hers and Gabrielle death and she has doubt about Gabby, coming with her. Two well others also say xena have a rough day. But I'd know xena was worried about Gabrielle and that what xena also did & turn back the table on Najara the second fight. Even xena make that clear. And on the third and final batter between xena and Najara, xena still win. Because Xena is more Focus. So who I'd think who would win between Callisto and Najara? I'd pick( Callisto)
Quite liked Najara. Wish they hadn’t just made her crazy, and instead redeemed her. Would’ve been interesting to see Xena react to the fact Najara truly is redeemed and right about her beliefs and how jealous and threatened she’d feel over Gabrielle.
Thing is, I don't think you're really meant to like Mavican. She's brazenly annoying, an irritant, she even bugs Ares. He clearly only gives her the time of day because he's bedding her, and then because she'll be the fodder he can use whilst he's testing Gabrielle and provoking Xena. Najara, on the other hand, is the kind of bad guy you can love to hate, because she knows exactly how to prey on both Gabrielle's ideals and Xena's insecurities. It's deliciously awful to watch her do her thing, whereas in Succession, Mavican wasn't really the source of the entertainment, the predicament X&G found themselves was.

This could be a great way to show xena's jealousy towards someone potentially stealing gabriel away from her, coming to terms with her romantic feelings for gabriel and showing that people can change for the better and you should not condemn them forever for their past actions.

This doesn't really make sense since Xena and Gabrielle fight and kill too without asking questions and giving their enemy a trial first. And Najara has a point that governments are corrupt and their trials and justice are often farcical and skewed for their own purposes and control. Gabrielle says send them to the government anyway which doesn't make any sense. Supporting a corrupt system because its the only one you have is nonsensical.

Yeah, but than again, you can't always have bad ass bad guys all the time, it becomes repetitive and then boring. But Hope was pretty much a G, since she was a baby she was cold blooded. Hope besides Callisto made Xena change. Callisto made Xena really understand how bad she was and Hope made Xena go back to her past self.
Najara goes from being Xena's equal to being unable to get a single good hit. The show did this with other characters too. There was an Amazon queen that defeated Xena easily only for Xena to later kill her in two seconds. Unfortunately, it's bad writing.
Yes. I mean how dare anyone be better than Xena 🙄😂😂😂 This concept always irked me. Yes, Xena learnt fast and quick but she did find warriors who were her equal or exceeded her. I mean in the first Najara fight, they had Najara win in the most unremarkable way possible so it would seem like a 'fluke.' When Najara was a very skilled warrior in her own right. Alti and Callisto were the only warriors they allowed Xena to look weak in front of. And it made them freaking terrifying. Because the writers couldn't figure out a way to depower them for Xena effectively.
Well in this case Xena was distracted the first time they fought. And with Amazon Queen Cyane, she beat them so easily because she had learned all their techniques by that time.
@@samhart4205 I agree. They made Xena a mortal in name only, otherwise she acted like a goddess with powers. One of her powers was learning how to defeat anyone after a single fight. I've sparred with my BJJ teacher for years, and I still can't do half the techniques he knows. Xena learned how to defeat Najara in a matter of minutes! Stuff like that makes her less believable as a character. I wish the writers had done better. Also, you forgot to mention Ares. In his debut episode, Xena couldn't beat him. In later seasons, she could.
