Very delighted about you touching on this very important subject. I am all the time helping people at one of our local shooting ranges and am shocked at how much money they have wrapped up in their equipment, except for glass. A few shots with one of my rigs and they realize it's a legitimate investment.

I have noticed in life that the most important thing is the thing I lack at that time.... Whatever that is. The missing piece.
For lack of a pin, the gun was lost.... And so on

This stands true for your binos / spotting scope as well. I competed in the Mammoth Sniper Challenge in January - I definitely left points on the table because I didn't have good enough glass in my binos to help me find the targets (the Match Director does a great job of simulating a target that is not interested in being found / hit).

A scope allows you to see what you’re trying to hit; it’s that simple!
My wife and I have always chosen to use top-tier scopes for our hunting rifles. We’ve found that Kahles gives us the best picture at low light times, any scope looks great at noontime but quality shows itself as you lose the light.
I have plenty of range time with 22’s but even the longest shot with a 22 doesn’t compare with a 3K+ yard shot like you make look easy… We know it’s not, but watching you hit those plates gives the rest of us something to watch and dream about achieving one day, lol!
Great video, I totally agree that your scope is the most important part of your rig!

Just starting and I went budget to get a 60moa base for my 120moa scope, which number I think I got from your videos. The gun came with a 20moa rail, the 20moa mount cost the same as straight rings, and I added a fixed 20moa riser to keep my muzzle device out of view. Only have one ELR gun so adjustability wasn't much of a concern. Thanks for all the recommendations; has saved me a lot of time.

Great to hear, and great scopes, but, nothing cuts through mirage, it is a affect of air density differences, good glass can only make thing a little clearer, mirage still affects the image and point of aim. Cheers

My “opinion”, for anyone that has a not so expensive scope, performs accurate box test, but not as good glass as top tier but usable, don’t feel like you have insufficient product.
If spending 2 - 4x as much for super glass clarity lets you see better but doesn’t really improve your ability to hit your target, what have you gained?
Now I do ooooh and awwwwe over the clarity and fine detail of my expensive scopes at way beyond reach and ability. But at the same time, get realistically the same outcome from my mid grade optics. So you don’t have pull a second mortgage for top tier glass to be able to take care of business.
My “opinion” from using cheap to moderately expensive top tier optics.
