It is inconceivable that God the Father would have permitted His only beloved Son to endure such a horrific death-subjected to beatings, humiliation, and scorn, crowned with thorns, forced to bear a heavy cross up a hill, with nails driven through His hands and feet, and a sword thrust into His heart, along with the heart of our Blessed Mother-if there had been any alternative means for humanity's salvation other than through our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
This message is so spot on. I'm not a priest but I immediately thought the same thing: people need to consult the catechism. It grieves my spirit to witness what's been happening. God bless you Father.
Why have missionaries and martyrs who have died for the Faith if all religions are "parhs to God"?? God will not be mocked. I will continue to pray daily for the Pope and the Church. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Light. No man comes to the Father except through Me. Why isn't that taught?
If you will, here is my perspective on the matter: A father had two sons to take care of, and one day he wanted them to learn a lesson and so he sent them out, one by one. One son with a grocery list at night to the butcher district of the town, and the other during the day. When one of the sons did not return late in the evening, the father went out looking for him and found the son, all roughed up weeping on a street corner, and his groceries had been stolen. The father kept silent and did not say anything, he helped his son get up, get home and took care of his wounds. The other son did as he was told and got home safe, with a bag full of groceries. The next day, the two sons were encouraged to talk about their individual experiences. And the son who got beaten up, asked his father infuriated, this; Father, why did you send me into the late evening, in the dark, to the market? Knowing very well there would be thieves and robbers, or even wild animals waiting for me to be ambushed or even kill me? Yet you send my brother during the day to get the same groceries without any risk to himself or the items? The father responded lacking wisdom; I figured eventually you would find a clever way to bring back home the goods safely. A wise father, a father with response ability does not teach in this manner, meaning, to prove a point. He does not put his son in danger, without going along with him, knowing what might happen, when there are other ways, better paths, to follow. You can make the analogy to what the Father of the Church did or did not do. We came from a world of many religions, where tribes and lands destroyed themselves without Christian morals, and sacrificed to idols, worshipped hedonism, and death cults, after Christ imbued the Apostles with the Holy Spirit and they went on to spread the Good News,, religion as it was before ended, and truth was manifest, people converted because the truth set them free, because in their words the truth was spoken, and they could feel it. They did not need persuasion because the Holy Spirit was speaking trough them. The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church was born. And throughout the nations of the world, civilization itself changed drastically, unrecognizably from what it was before Christ. Not just in the Roman empire. But everywhere the Saints and martyrs went. To say what the Father of the Church said, brings tears to the eyes of the martyrs of the Church. Whom did not believe in a mere ideology, a monotheistic philosophy, but in truth itself, and what this truth entails. They knew Christ. That He was truly risen. Christ came to fulfil prophecy, to forge a new covenant. To unite the heavenly with the earthly again. To free the souls from Hades. And to shatter the vanity and the power of the evil one. To believe in these words of the Father of the Church is to revert to times from before the resurrection. Consider this, if the Lord, is the way, the truth and the life, that means, clearly, when going astray from the way, you lose sight from the destination, you go astray, you get lost, and this has consequences, when you are lead to believe it is fine to walk on a path, that reveals half truths, or no truths, you have fallen into lies and falsehoods, into deceit, into danger, into deception, into darkness, not only to yourself, but to the people entrusted into your care, knowingly or unknowingly, and the most terrifying realization, the Lord said, he is the life, this means, all the other choices or paths or truths, lead to a deadening, or to death, death of the mind, of the heart, of the soul, of this life, and of the spiritual life, and when pondering upon all three aspects bound to one another ,, we have a very profound command, a teaching, prophesy and a realisation all coming together. It is a very serious matter. The most serious of all. Not a trivial thing. That can be swept under the rug of social sensitivities, individual or collective conditioning, or cultural circumstances of the times. It is not relative to what we believe, neither of a philosophical, or academical nature, but what Christ said defines, the very nature of the order of life. And points clearly to the relationship between the Creator and humanity. Between Him and us. It is not a treatise about feelings. But it reveals to us, the meaning of The Passion of Christ. Of the tears of the Mother of God. And of the state of affairs in the world. And so, I say Lord have mercy on us all and save us. Through the prayers of your most Holy ever virgin mother Mary, The Theotokos, our Holy Fathers, all the Saints and Martyrs in Heaven. Have mercy on us, and ever keep us on the path of Your commandments, we humbly pray. St. Joseph pray for us. St. John The Baptist pray for us. St. George pray for us. St. Philomena pray for us. St. Padre Pio pray for us. Father Thady Doyle pray for us
Tq Fr Thady for the clear explanations. I'm truly sorry for being rude in my comments sometimes. I'm hurt when people are divided in their faith because Jesus love us so much, yet people don't take him seriously. Now I'm just accepting what the church had been teaching. To God be the glory. Amen.
100% father. Thank you. The local Catholics were very grateful that he encouraged mutual love and respect amongst people of different religions. Bizarre how our pope is vilified for living our faith. Cheers
Saying how bizarre those that disagree with you isn't an argument. Those that criticise what Pope Francis has said aren't ipso fact vilifying him. Or is that too difficult for you to get your head around? The local Buddhists, Mohammedans, Hindus and Sikhs were encouraged to continue in their religions by Pope Francis. I suspect many of the other religions' more thoughtful members thought what a pathetic religion Catholic Christianity must be. I certainly would have were I in their shoes. I might even ask of Pope Francis, why do you bother? Why don't you just teach Christians to worship Krishna seeing as how Christ bears no real advantage to arrive at God?
Bless you Father, you are a great defender of the Church, grace be to you,as a Lutheran Evangelic I'm deeply saddened by the attitude in our CHURCH'S,AND LOOK TOWARD the Blessed Father , what a beautiful message this morning,,😊
thank you Fr. for saying these things out loud. It is truly heartbreaking and disappointing to see so many Catholic "influencers" on RUclips are leading their followers to rebel against the Holy Father.
@GodsCottage how so? There's many things in life that are out of our control. Praying the Rosary is not one of them. Praying all the mysteries is the goal, I apologise if my statement seemed to imply otherwise.
Jesus explained to Segatasha of Kibeho that souls will be judged on what's in their hearts and their actions not their religions but that the Catholic church has the fullness and therefore more will be expected.....on the other hand to publicly suggest to world audiences that all are equal would seem to negate the work of the apostles who are sent out to convert to the Catholic faith which was the only Christian identity for centuries .....why did missionaries go to Africa and vie with evangelicals Anglicans Mormons Muslims to win converts? ..... God knows all hearts at judgement nomatter their background but the Catholic church must teach its fullness rather than play that down on a world wide broadcast..... I think that is what ppl are upset about Father.....
@@GodsCottage by omission Father, by not acknowledging the supremacy of the fullness of the Catholic faith as established first hand by Jesus himself .....you are v quick to suggest confession for others who simply feel that the Vicar of Christ on earth could have acknowledged that there is indeed a path to God in other religions while still explaining emphasising that the Catholic church is the one truly apostolic faith instigated by the Son of God!! which makes it much more than the product of simply a 'holy man' ,a mystic or 'prophet' .....what Pope Francis said is fine by me, it's what he failed to say that i find upsetting .... So a seeker of truth trying to discern a possible entry to practising a religion, or a non Catholic considering conversion may be better enlightened ....can you not see how such a qualification by the Pope could be considered vital Father? ...the Catechism does not give the impression that it doesn't really matter if you practise Catholicism or Hinduism because all religions lead to God in any case....some would argue that this is the crux of the problem with how Pope Francis expressed his absolutely correct analysis on the value of all religions ..what he didn't say...
Great comments about the dangers of some of what Fr. Ripperger teaches. A comment of note though: for years, I got Fr. Ripperger's voice mixed up with an FSSP priest by the name of Fr. Philip Wolfe. To my ears their voices sound nearly identical. Fr. Wolfe takes some even more extreme dangerous positions on things. I was attributing these sayings to Fr. Ripperger for a couple of years before I realized my mistake. I can now tell their voices apart, as Fr. Wolfe sounds like he's wearing a set of dentures that do not quite fit.
Will keep praying Fr Thaddy, especially for Pope Francis! For years we’ve had discussions around the dining table on the stance of the church.. some felt that the church should move with the times..my stand was that Jesus’ teachings and the Church’s teachings can’t change to please a more liberal modern world! Seems like they’ve had the last laugh! However, we’ve been able to gather together for the daily Rosary despite our divergent views… thanks to Our Lady! Praise be Jesus Christ!
Dear Father Doyle. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos (sincere and from the heart- this is so evident in you). This particular video has given me so much clarification with regards to those Catholic priests, mostly in the United States, who preach a fundamental agenda and are scandalizing so many Catholics let alone non-Catholics by their sinful opinions. What is wrong with such a priest, Father? Thank you for clarifying the truth in your video and helping me to recognize that these videos are causing so much harm, AND BY CATHOLIC PRIESTS, Father! I am a sinner, but I have never felt that God was not listening to me, that my Guardian Angel was not beside me as well as in Heaven before God praying for me and looking after me. I also believe as you do that the Holy Spirit is always walking with us, knocking at our hearts and never giving up. I can feel Him. I can feel God in you, Father. There is a certain sincerity that a good person cannot mask if God is with him. You are one of those. And, who else but a Pope, can actually govern and lead the Church without the Holy Spirit? All good priests are enlightened by the Holy Spirit. It has to be the hardest job on Earth- to be a priest, a good priest! Imagine Pope Francis and the weight he carries and just as profound the responsibility he has before God! Thank you, Father Doyle. I will try to watch as many of your videos. Pray for me, Father Doyle. Marcel from Saskatchewan.
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. Let’s leave the judging to God. Christians stoning other Christians is the work of the enemy. Let’s pray for unity in the body of Christ🙏🙏🙏
Father Ripperger also recommends that those who suffer from alcoholism and addiction are not growing in self-control but still harboring demons. I watched a video of his when I was in a scrupulous vulnerable state of mind and soul and believed him. Not only was I unable not to avoid drunkenness once I started, I made very bad decisions following this incident. I’m glad you warned others about him.
Pope Francis has the habit, by now well established, of saying things that leave listeners confused and hoping he meant something other than what he actually said. At the end of his recent trip to Singapore, the pope left his prepared remarks for an interreligious group of young people and offered some general reflections about religion. Since his comments were extemporaneous, they naturally lacked the precision that a prepared text would normally possess, and so hopefully what he said is not quite what he meant. According to news reports, Pope Francis suggested that, “[Religions] are like different languages in order to arrive at God, but God is God for all. Since God is God for all, then we are all children of God.” He went on to say, “If you start to fight, ‘my religion is more important than yours, mine is true and yours isn’t,’ where will that lead us? There’s only one God, and each of us has a language to arrive at God. Some are Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, and they are different paths [to God].” The Holy Father’s positive intent here was obvious. Francis then added a call to enter into interreligious dialogue. He spoke about dialogue as if it were an end in itself. “Interreligious dialogue,” he said, “is something that creates a path.” The question then is: a path to where? That all religions have equal weight is an extraordinarily flawed idea for the Successor of Peter to appear to support. It is true that all of the great religions express a human yearning-often with beauty and wisdom-for something more than this life. Humans have a need to worship. That desire seems to be hardwired into our DNA. But not all religions are equal in their content or consequences. Substantial differences exist among the religions the pope named. They have very different notions of who God is and what that implies for the nature of the human person and society. As St. Paul preached two thousand years ago, the search for God can take many imperfect forms, but they are each an imperfect search for the one, true, triune God of Sacred Scripture. Paul condemns false religions and preaches Jesus Christ as the reality and fulfillment of the unknown God whom the Greeks worship (Acts 17:22-31). Simply put: Not all religions seek the same God, and some religions are both wrong and potentially dangerous, materially and spiritually. Catholics believe that Jesus Christ, once and forever, revealed to all humanity who God is. He redeemed us by his death and resurrection, and he gave us the commission to bring all humanity to him. As our faith teaches very clearly, it is only Jesus Christ who saves. Christ is not merely one among other great teachers or prophets. To borrow a thought from C. S. Lewis, if Jesus were just one among many, he’d also be a liar, because he emphatically claimed that, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). A loving God may accept the worship of any sincere and charitable heart-but salvation comes only through his only son, Jesus Christ. Which is why Jesus did not say, “Stay on your path, and let’s talk about it.” We are called Christians because we believe Jesus Christ is God, the second person of the Trinity. From the beginning of our faith, followers of Christ were unique among world religions because they accepted as true Christ’s extraordinary claim that he is God-in part because of his miracles, in part because of his preaching, but ultimately because of his death and bodily resurrection. Christians have also always believed that this reality makes Christianity categorically distinct from all other religions, and in turn requires a total commitment of our lives. (For the Church’s Christology, see: the New Testament, the Council of Nicaea, the Council of Ephesus, the Council of Chalcedon, the Council of Trent, the Second Vatican Council, The Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Vatican’s document Dominus Jesus, which all, among many others, teach clearly the divinity of Christ and his unique role in salvation history.) To suggest, even loosely, that Catholics walk a more or less similar path to God as other religions drains martyrdom of its meaning. Why give up your life for Christ when other paths may get us to the same God? Such a sacrifice would be senseless. But the witness of the martyrs is as important today as ever. We live in an age when the dominant religion is increasingly the worship of the self. We need the martyrs-and each of us as a confessor of Jesus Christ-to remind an unbelieving world that the path to a genuinely rich life is to give oneself fully to another, to the other. The bishop of Rome is the spiritual and institutional head of the Catholic Church worldwide. This means, among other things, that he has the duty to teach the faith clearly and preach it evangelically. Loose comments can only confuse. Yet, too often, confusion infects and undermines the good will of this pontificate. Christians hold that Jesus alone is the path to God. To suggest, imply, or allow others to infer otherwise is a failure to love because genuine love always wills the good of the other, and the good of all people is to know and love Jesus Christ, and through him the Father who created us. Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., is the archbishop emeritus of Philadelphia.
Fr, I'm still having a hard time with this, and yes your explanation does in many ways details God Almighty's ecompassing love for all of his creation. That said if all faith's are different languages and path's to God, what is the point of going out and proclaiming the Gospel to others if such is the case? I mean what was the point of "The Crusades" which were a large part to the survival of Christianity in the West? The martyrs, or better yet, Christ's sacrifice on the cross? I'm not being disingenous or derisive in anyway. I love Jesus Christ, I love the Catholic faith. I really need prayer in this.
You don't need any prayers on this because your thinking is good and true. You didn't get a response because you have highlighted the weaknesses in the Pope's comments well.

You really need to educate yourself. There is a long history within the Catholic Church of recognising that ‘seeds of truth’ are in other religions. John Paul II said: ‘It must first be kept in mind that every quest of the human spirit for truth and goodness, and in the last analysis for God, is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The various religions arose precisely from this primordial human openness to God. At their origins we often find founders who, with the help of God’s Spirit, achieved a deeper religious experience. Handed on to others, this experience took form in the doctrines, rites and precepts of the various religions.’ Too many Catholics are ignorant about their religion and need good guidance from the Church, not from ‘influencers’.
Thank You Fr. for your God's Cottage youtube channel, and for this talk you did here because what you explained helped me a lot to understand Pope Francis better, thanks so much Fr.
Thank you, Father, for this video... an eye opener even though I was disappointed with Pope Francis' dialogue. I will start checking the Catechism when his words confuse me. God Bless You
Dear Father, I SO much feel and share your pain and concern! 😢 I am sure your efforts and offering up the roses of this suffering on behalf of pope Francis will bear fruits in the hearts of some people of good will. Unfortunately I also think many of those who display a frequent (if not constant) hermeneutic of suspicion regarding the Holy Father have also come to doubt the validity or integrity of Vatican II and even the orthodoxy of the last popes, including of Saint John Paul II (cf. the argument of his kissing of the Quran) and Benedict XVI (Assisi II), so I fear that trying to convince them using these references may be vain. At this point only the Holy Spirit can open, heal and guard the hearts of those who are listening to the rebellious voices on social media. In any case, I want to assure you that your efforts are not lost on me. I personally often struggle with some of pope Francis words or deeds and your interventions always bring back clarity, charity and peace into my heart. That is so precious! May the Lord reward you greatly! I also think we must be careful not get mentally and spiritually exhausted with all these polemics and the sometimes ignorance/bad faith/ugliness we find on the net. I've stopped watching many a channel or catholic commentator long ago, to preserve my spiritual life and faith. It must be difficult for you, because you have another kind of responsibility. I pray that the Lord will keep giving you the wisdom to respond when it's necessary and to not let these issues affect your inner peace and strength, too much. Take care, Father. Thank you for being such a good servant of the Lord and faithful shepherd of us all, poor souls 😇🙏🌹
Yes, you are correct. we seek to win over those we can, while we may force some of the others to admit that their problem isn't just with Pope Francis, but with the Catholic Church. Delighted you like the video. Many thanks for sharing
Thanks for mentioning Fr. Ripperger. I used to listen to him years ago, I respect him and learned a lot from his talks, but at the same time what he offers is absolutely rife with scrupulocity and I've stayed away for some time. I don't know about you guys, but as important as it is to stress conversion, Christ being the one true God, and religions only being good and true in the senses in which they resemble Christianity - I very much *want* to have the kind of hope presented by V2's treatment of the topic. I don't know why some people seem so eager to believe the alternative - that non-Christian religions are nothing but darkness and evil, and their practitioners, especially those who never heard the gospel, are essentially predestined to hell.
Non Christian religions are FALSE !! Therefore Must be Vehemently rejected by Anyone who believes they are Catholic ( perhaps mistakenly) And if they fear the lord and the loss of their own salvation.

Thank you, father and God bless you. There are so many anti-Catholic RUclipsrs on priest, nuns lay people I don’t listen to any of them, but I do listen to the holy father and you. God bless you father. Well said!🙏
Thank you father. There are those that pretend to be Catholics but in reality just try to put Catholics against our own Church. And there are Catholic converts that are not yet converted by heart and their main source of teachings are other laities which are more interested in audience. They're not letting the Church build up their love. Catholics have learned that love comes from God and takes away our desire to condemn and humbles us to admit that we don't fully know. Thanks to all clergy like you who have taught us love over knowledge.
Question what is modernism?. Pope st. Pius X defined it as " The synthesis of all heresies in his encyclical pacendii Greg's dominici when he warned about it s dangers in 1907. The only way to combat it to return to tradition we can do it now or later I suspect it will be later, but we will return to tradition.
hi Father, I liked your thoughtprovoking example from James. Question: if I correctly understand the context she (Rahab) helped the spies and as it were was caught up in God's plan, God's workings, so my first thought was that yes, it WAS (and perhaps still is) possible BUT only under very extraordinairy circumstances. Also, this was ofcourse an event that happened before Christ, so one could argue that since Christ that option isn't available anymore. I could be totally wrong about this, I'm typing this off the cuff but I'm interested in your educated opinion as I'm only laity with a limited formation.
@@GodsCottage I thought about that, but to me there seems to be a problem with that: in our current times with the internet being widely available, a non believer is one google search away from reading about Jesus and the Gospels, shouldn't they also take more responsibility themselves? Jesus, if only His image is known over the world, but perhaps not His truth and message. Thank you for taking the time to respond to me father, much apreciated, God bless.
Father, the church needs more priests like you to clarify and not to divide the church because I believe that criticisms causes division and when there is division the devil is at work. Thank you father for speaking boldly for our Pope, may the Lord continue to give you courage for guiding us and explaining to us the truth which we all need to know. God bless you!
Thank you Father Thady for a powerful holy spirit directed teaching. I ask the holy spirit to open the minds and hearts of all people including all religions to a call to repentance and conversion to come back to know and love our merciful God. I agree Father, we must extend charity and love toward our Holy Father. I also think you are right that many are interpreting the Holy Fathers words in an uncharitable fashion. God bless you.
I came hoping a fellow Irish with some orthodoxy but you seem to share his indifferentism. Father, did you listen to his talk in Italian? Did you? Or trust the Vatican amended words? I've visited a dozen blogs on the matter and each showed the catechism and the past documents pertaining to the subject.
And exactly in what way did you have a difficulty with the quotations I gave from the Bible, Vatican II, The Catechism and Pope St. John Paul "If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. Instead, he has an unhealthy interest in controversies and disputes over words, out of which come envy, strife, abusive talk, evil suspicions, and constant friction between people of depraved mind who are devoid of the truth." 1 Timothy 6:3-5 We find the sound words of Jesus in the Catechism as well as in the Bible
Father, thank you. This is so clear. The way I understood this when I was younger, is that if this was not so, no one could be converted. See how many of the first Christians were first pagans, but because there was some truth in them, they were able to recognize Jesus. Jesus has always been with us, even when we left him, or did jot know him. The people who speak of "we are the only ones" remind me of the babylonian pride in Isaiah. All Catholics are essentially converts--we all must be converted. No one was "born" Catholic. This is the same sin by which they wanted to kill Saint Paul!! And if there was no truth in others, how could Saint Augustine do any of his work in Rome, to try to save as many souls he could?! This narrowmindedness is not Catholic! The Church is broad, because it universally accepts all men, AND calls them to conversion to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Father, truly some priests were truly blinded. Thank you father. I used to criticise Pope Francis due to listening to T. M and other catholic RUclipsrs who are anti -pope. I realised my mistakes and I am truly, sincerely sorry for doing so. I asked God to forgive me.
In Luxembourg on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024,Pope Francis told Luxembourg’s politicians: “It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ alone that is capable of profoundly transforming the human soul, making it capable of doing good......" The word 'alone' in that sentence is unambiguous.
Excellent work Father! I remember the day I realized, "You mean to tell me I have to do all these things and those other may not?" I fell like a rock. I fell like the elder son in parable of the prodigal son. It wasn't until I fell madly in love with Jesus for dying for my sins that I realized those others are saved through the sacrifice of the mass, the offerings of the sufferings in my own flesh in union with the Passion of Christ and the Power of the Holy Spirit in the poor and simple minded that it made sense. Please pray for me here in USA they just made homelessness illegal here in Roseburg, Oregon and we were persecuted for feeding the people today. The man from the town council (who we pray for) called it "Enabling". This is all being done here in USA by the right wing Christians. We need to pull the Catholic Church together and be re-trained before its too late. I wanted to flee the town, but a couple of people talked me out of it for now. Please pray for me to have all the gifts and fruits to bring souls to Jesus and endure all in His Name.
I think the pope's statements at the youth meeting were worthy of that at a universalist meeting, kind of like all religions willed by God which he said not long ago, and of late, all religions being a blessing of God seems to be what he said; the Aztecs can rest easy and the Spanish should have let it alone, apparently. If not, then he should say something else. He's not supposed to teach relativism or imply it, to the world; he can leave that to the academy. Now as for him being a heretic, that judgment is not mine, nor is it up to me. I only make the assessment of his words that he himself said in the settings mentioned. He could be completely diplomatic while espousing the whole truth in such a way that he cared about Catholic sensibilities of his flock and his role as a teacher and point of unity, but, he never makes that choice. It seems to me he eats only with Jesuits of a certain cloth, and cares not for what Paul may say about it.
I do agree with you, completely. We are not the ones in being dishonest we can hear and see with our own eyes. The Vatican website even tried to correct Pope Francis, and do what father and many others are doing in cover-up for him. What happened was that the pope had them remove what they tried to explain away and correct him and insisted they restore his actual words. I like you do not accuse the pope of being a heretic however what he is saying contradicts the 2000 year-old teachings of our Catholic Church. Jesus shed his blood that we might know this truth how dare we water it down.
Can you show me how what Pope Francis said differs from what Pope St. John Paul said. And the Catechism states that we are to evangelise through reaching out the hand of friendship. Incidentally how many converts to Christianity can you claim to have had?

He basically said not to claim superiority of my God versus your God by implying there is only one God, which is fine, but he did not address the reality of the Savior but left Him as merely one way among many. That may be diplomatic for say, a politician, or diplomat or a meeting of universalists, but the pope is none of those, his role is not secular, and his beliefs should no be secular either. So there is no equivalence of Paul risking his life preaching and the pope's words. The pope pretended it is all the same, my religion or yours; in fact, following his words you can't even criticize me/
Pius IX, Syllabus Errorum (1864), a ‘syllabus’ condemning errors of our time: 15. Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion which, guided by the light of reason, he shall consider true. 16. Man may, in the observance of any religion whatever, find the way of eternal salvation, and arrive at eternal salvation. 17. Good hope at least is to be entertained of the eternal salvation of all those who are not at all in the true Church of Christ. 18. Protestantism is nothing more than another form of the same true Christian religion, in which form it is given to please God equally as in the Catholic Church. The CDF’s Declaration Dominus Iesus, which Pope St. John Paul II ratified, the theory of the limited, incomplete, or imperfect character of the revelation of Jesus Christ, which would be complementary to that found in other religions, is contrary to the Church’s faith… Such a position is in radical contradiction with the foregoing statements of Catholic faith according to which the full and complete revelation of the salvific mystery of God is given in Jesus Christ. … With the coming of the Saviour Jesus Christ, God has willed that the Church founded by him be the instrument for the salvation of all humanity… it rules out, in a radical way, that mentality of indifferentism “characterized by a religious relativism which leads to the belief that ‘one religion is as good as another’”. If it is true that the followers of other religions can receive divine grace, it is also certain that objectively speaking they are in a gravely deficient situation in comparison with those who, in the Church, have the fullness of the means of salvation. … Indeed, the Church, guided by charity and respect for freedom, must be primarily committed to proclaiming to all people the truth definitively revealed by the Lord, and to announcing the necessity of conversion to Jesus Christ and of adherence to the Church through Baptism and the other sacraments, in order to participate fully in communion with God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thus, the certainty of the universal salvific will of God does not diminish, but rather increases the duty and urgency of the proclamation of salvation and of conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Finally someone who explains it clearly.Thank you father. There are so many Catholic converts that are causing great confusion on the internet as well as Catholics and both are preaching fundamentalism (me and the Bible I interpret). This teaching of yours clarifies it so beautifully.

Every individual has an obligation to pray for the Pope and the Catholic Church which means all Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, Missionaries and all religious that they may guide the flock only though the promptings of The Holy Spirit. Only these teachings are acceptable. So we all need to pray for Pentecost.
Father, it’s the night before the elections here in the US. Please pray for us because the evil one is working hard to get a grip back on us. The people don’t even see the obvious! We need your prayers!!!!

If you lived closer to me, I'd come visit you in person to say it and talk to you. The Church is in serious trouble and we need to realise that when something is incongruous we probably should endeavour to find out why and part of that which can do is start asking difficult questions
Are you suggesting that Fr Thady is under threat? He is courageous, speaks the truth, and has a lot of support. He doesn’t need your correction or counsel because you think you know better than a faithful priest of fifty years.

Sadly there are people in our Church today who are crucifying Jesus again and again. Protecting even one person from falling into their clutches is a hill worth dying on.
Where does it imply then that all religions are equal because the Holy Father seemingly implied that. Yes, you can argue he didn't explicitly say that exactly. But the language analogy. The connotations. And it's not the first time. Do you think St PJP2 kissing the Koran was right? I don't. I don't deny he's a holy man, but well capable of mistakes he is.
I mean, Father, honestly, I don't want to call the Holy Father names, and I want to give him due respect for being the Pope but I'm deeply alarmed by his continued actions. I'm trying to get some of my family back to Church and seemingly our Holy Father says it does not matter
I prayed in discernment my time in these comments was excessive. I took offense to your charismatic views to the point of excessive criticism. My criticism was warranted, but in certain points excessive. My regrets. God bless to you.
Pius XI (1922-1939), Mortalium Animos (1928), on true religious [Christian] unity: (#2) Certainly such attempts can nowise be approved by Catholics, founded as they are on that false opinion which considers all religions to be more or less good and praiseworthy, since they all in different ways manifest and signify that sense which is inborn in us all, and by which we are led to God and to the obedient acknowledgment of His rule. Not only are those who hold this opinion in error and deceived, but also in distorting the idea of true religion they reject it, and little by little, turn aside to naturalism and atheism, as it is called; from which it clearly follows that one who supports those who hold these theories and attempt to realize them, is altogether abandoning the divinely revealed religion. (#3) But some are more easily deceived by the outward appearance of good when there is question of fostering unity among all Christians. (#9) This being so, it is clear that the Apostolic See cannot on any terms take part in their assemblies, nor is it anyway lawful for Catholics either to support or to work for such enterprises; for if they do so they will be giving countenance to a false Christianity, quite alien to the one Church of Christ. (#15) So, Venerable Brethren, it is clear why this Apostolic See has never allowed its subjects to take part in the assemblies of non-Catholics: for the union of Christians can only be promoted by promoting the return to the one true Church of Christ of those who are separated from it, for in the past they have unhappily left it. To the one true Church of Christ, we say, which is visible to all, and which is to remain, according to the will of its Author, exactly the same as He instituted it.

Those who are saved without knowledge of Christ through no fault of their own are saved through his death and resurrection… even without knowing… the mercy of God extends to them… that is true but a dangerous recklessness to presume that it’s easy… best regards
Trying to piece this together, because I can see both sides of the spectrum. Now Christian churches proclaim Jesus to be the way to God, throughout the denominations, whether they are Catholic or Protestant. Nevertheless there are those who proclaim Jesus but do not know Him in Spirit of truth, and their worship is insincere. Worship covers our lifestyle too. By saying that there are many Christians who are sincere alongside those who are not. The wheat and the weeds grow together. Now there are many people who are sincere in worshiping God who created us ,but they are in the wrong religion that doesn't recognise Jesus..Yet these people are on the pathway to life because they worship God who created us , whereas those alongside them are looking inwards to the religious teachings that can lead to dangerous idolatory and persecuting God and His true people. Therefore in conclusion there is some truth in this on one hand ; but on the other hand it could lead to the new world order with the coming of the antichrist. Therefore I believe those who are truly born of Christ need to reach out in love showing that Jesus is the mediator between God and humankind. Religions can lead to God but they need to eventually know Jesus is the only light of the world. It can't be that they say Jesus is one of the lights alongside Buddha and Muhammad. Jesus is the only light. The light of the world. We all need to be careful to distinguish between Jesus and the antichrist.

Dear Father..You have given me more understanding on this topic and I thank you, but why is it that so many other good priests like your self and bishops on tube have criticized and called the Pope a heretic. There is so much division between, priests, bishops and the laity.
What Pope Francis said in Singapore is unequivocally heretical which in and of itself doesn't make him a heretic of course. What's more troubling is that he has since doubled down on it. The last time he tried that nonsense on with the Abu Dhabi statement, he used the "Permissive Will' qualifier when challenged. That 'excuse' isn't possible here.
I have given clear quotations from the Bible, from the Documents of Vatican II, from the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and from the teaching of Pope St. John Paul which proves that what Pope Francis said is fully consistent with the teaching of the Catholic Church. Meanwhile, "If anyone teaches another doctrine and disagrees with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. If Christ wanted the Pope removed it would be done! I feel the most Holy Church is being tested. Christ (the head) was tested and successful in His 33 years of perfection personified. Thr body is going through a test. Sorting the wheat from the chaff. I stand corrected if wrong. Just my thoughts. Bless you all.
The Catholic Church has historically recognized the importance of explaining further the means through which salvation is offered through Christ. When speaking of salvation, Jesus offered more details than just his words quoted above. For example, consider these three verses: He who believes and is baptized will be saved. (Mk 16:16) [U]nless you repent you will all likewise perish. (Lk 13:3) [H]e who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (Jn 6:54) Notice that in these three verses Jesus associated salvation with baptism, confession, and the Eucharist, respectively. Catholics recognize that these sacraments are administered through the Church. In fact, in the case of the latter two, a validly ordained priest is necessary for their administration, so the sacrament of ordination must also be associated with salvation. A primary role of the Catholic Church in conjunction with salvation is becoming quite clear.
So Father.. genuine question here. What do you think Jesus Christ would say about popes who kiss the Koran holy book of a FALSE religion.. Bring pagan idols into the Vatican and participated in Idolatrous Worship by Blessing a wooden pachamama pagan idol at a pagan ceremony. Also who took part in pagan smudging ceremonies. This all even apart from him stating that All religions lead to God which incidentally NONE of any of this is a part of the Catholic teachings Or Catechism And Jesus Christ himself would say Woe unto this idolatry! I’m now waiting for you to attempt to defend the indefensible here .
Father I agree and we all need humility to consent to all you are saying. But I’d like for a minute to inquire… in today’s world… how likely is it for a non believer to enter salvation? Without sacrements? Full knowledge of the truth? With the deceptions of the evil one and the surrounding world? All the temptations and disorientations and lies of this world? So let’s be realistic. It’s hard enough for a catholic to be saved… how much more for those who are lost?
Thankyou Father I have attempted to counter Catholic youtubers who have criticised the Pope in what he said in Singapore, quoting the Vatican ii document Lumen Gentium 16, which you allude to. I also quote Pope Francis teaching 'Jesus is the only way'
You talk of taking Scripture out of context, yet offer up the example of Rahab James 2:25 and strip it of context, calling Rahab a pagan and contradicting James by implying Rahab was justified by works alone. James clearly knew something about Rahab that you missed Fr. Thady, that she helped the Israeli scouts because she was indeed a woman who believed: "I'm really convinced that the Lord has given you the land", she [Rahab] said, "because we are overwhelmed with fear of you...because we heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea right in front of you as you were coming out of Egypt..." Jo's 2: 9-10
@@GodsCottage Jesus was still with the Father in heaven in the days of Joshua, so how could she? She believed in the one true God of Israel and acted on her belief. James used Rahab, a lowly prostitute, to illustrate his point that works follow true belief.
One must be baptized to enter the kingdom of God While Jesus told Nicodemus, “Amen, Amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit” (John 3:5),
There is a difference, though, between saying that people who did not and could not know Jesus as the Saviour, especially before he revealed himself to us as the Saviour in his Resurrection, can be justified and claiming that all other religions are ways to arrive at God - this is what Francis said. Yes, people who do good works should always be commended for doing good works, whatever their religion may be, but should people who follow "false" religions (after all we still believe that the Catholic Faith is the one true Faith, don't we?) be commended for following these religions - and confirmed in this? And yet, this seems to be what Francis is saying. This would mean, for example, that there is no need for re-evangelizing Europe - we can patiently wait for the (formerly Christian) atheistic majority in the population to be converted to Islam, since Islam also leads to God. Father, in your heart of hearts I am sure you know there is something deeply disturbing and wrong in this "teaching" of Pope Francis.
Thank you Father, They are not thinking, The old testament does not talk about Jesus to be saved. Yes glimpses. Even in Cain and Able. What did God say to Cain? If you did your best and lift your eyes up to me , you will be accepted! No mention of Jesus! Dont get me wrong , I am Catholic and Love Jesus! Thank you for keeping the Brotherhood!
Who's "not thinking"? The Old Covenant was with the Jewish people only. The New Covenant was with mankind in general. The Messiah or Christ was prefigured in the Old Testament as Saviour but the Jews thought he'd be a triumphant King of Jews but he was persecuted and publicly humiliated on the Cross by the Roman Empire. The Cross is now not a symbol of humiliation but rather triumph. Jesus said: "Before Abraham, I am"
@@Jimboken1 And who was the Pope talking to , not you! He was talking to the ones that were there. He saying to not fight, and follow goodness in your religions and God will reveal His Son to you. Jesus never said you can go to the Father by any other means then himself . I’m sure he would have said it if God the Father was going to make exceptions for non believers for example Fr When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a]) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” 11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Fundamentalism can mean any religious belief but fundamental Christianity was a stand against theologians like Rudolph bultmann who redefined the bible as myth and symbolism and the fear was Christianity was being watered down but got out of hand like deciding what movies to watch and clothing etc If the bible says it it isn’t strictly wrong but it does cause rigid interpretations and brings about a personal belief and biases and assumptions The big problem of the fundamental option is sin isn’t sin until it’s habitual

Thank you Fr. Thady for taking the time to make these videos. I don't feel to recap this whole story right now. I'm tired and I have commented nonstop about this during the past two weeks until this morning. It has just been rather disturbing to talk to stiff-necked deniers -- they have already fallen prey to the cunning sophists, and bought their own version. They are unmovable with their "ifs" and "buts". RUclips has been an "echo chamber" with avalanches of nonsensical comments. Long expounding replies don't help a bit; it's like adding fuel to the fire or using backfiring ammo on oneself. Better with a few concise admonishing words in line with *2 Timothy 4: 1-4* , and that's it. By the way I learned the Indonesian National Motto: *"Bhinneka tunggal ika"* 😊 However I'm calling it a day now and relax my eyes. I've already followed with Pope Francis' new speeches in his current visit to Luxembourg and Belgium. 👏 *_"Forgive them Father 'cuz they do not know what they 'comment'!"_* PAX CHRISTI 😇
You are right, Father, in defending the pope. What I like most about good Pope Francis is how is carrying in his own way the Church forward while a downpour of insidious falsehoods fall on him
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.” This he said in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.
@@GodsCottage The NT preaches salvation by faith which expresses itself through works. Correct? And that faith is in Jesus Christ. Correct? So tell me how come that allegedly all religions are a gift from God as Pope Francis claims, although other faiths deny faith in Jesus Christ? Is God contradicting himself? What the Pope said is not defensible in my humble opinion.
@@brotherandrew3393 And that's what it is, only an opinion. Have you prayed to the Holy Spirit for discernment about this issue? His view on it is not an opinion but the Truth, which clears things up whether we like what He has to say or not. Division is a tool of the evil one. No, thank you.

Where did Pope Francis suggest that all are equal. Find my a direct quotation, or else look at the prejudice in your own heart and go to Confession

Jesus' teachings will NEVER change. The Church's understanding of them may grow over time.

Which is why Jesus did not say, “Stay on your path, and let’s talk about it.”
We are called Christians because we believe Jesus Christ is God, the second person of the Trinity. (For the Church’s Christology, see: the New Testament, the Council of Nicaea, the Council of Ephesus, the Council of Chalcedon, the Council of Trent, the Second Vatican Council, The Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Vatican’s document Dominus Jesus, which all, among many others, teach clearly the divinity of Christ and his unique role in salvation history.)
To suggest, even loosely, that Catholics walk a more or less similar path to God as other religions drains martyrdom of its meaning.

The quotations I gave cover the situation
Was the Pope talking to you ? To whom?

John Paul II said:
‘It must first be kept in mind that every quest of the human spirit for truth and goodness, and in the last analysis for God, is inspired by the Holy Spirit. The various religions arose precisely from this primordial human openness to God. At their origins we often find founders who, with the help of God’s Spirit, achieved a deeper religious experience. Handed on to others, this experience took form in the doctrines, rites and precepts of the various religions.’
Too many Catholics are ignorant about their religion and need good guidance from the Church, not from ‘influencers’.

Question what is modernism?. Pope st. Pius X defined it as " The synthesis of all heresies in his encyclical pacendii Greg's dominici when he warned about it s dangers in 1907. hi Father, I liked your thoughtprovoking example from James.

Jesus shed his blood that we might know this truth how dare we water it down.

the theory of the limited, incomplete, or imperfect character of the revelation of Jesus Christ, which would be complementary to that found in other religions, is contrary to the Church’s faith… Such a position is in radical contradiction with the foregoing statements of Catholic faith according to which the full and complete revelation of the salvific mystery of God is given in Jesus Christ.

Indeed, the Church, guided by charity and respect for freedom, must be primarily committed to proclaiming to all people the truth definitively revealed by the Lord, and to announcing the necessity of conversion to Jesus Christ and of adherence to the Church through Baptism and the other sacraments, in order to participate fully in communion with God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Thus, the certainty of the universal salvific will of God does not diminish, but rather increases the duty and urgency of the proclamation of salvation and of conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Dear Father,
Does Pope Francis or StPJP2 define what sin is?
The Catechism of the Catholic Church does - and I will be speaking on that this Sunday

Pius XI (1922-1939), Mortalium Animos (1928), on true religious [Christian] unity:
(#2) Certainly such attempts can nowise be approved by Catholics, founded as they are on that false opinion which
considers all religions to be more or less good and praiseworthy, since they all in different ways manifest and signify
that sense which is inborn in us all, and by which we are led to God and to the obedient acknowledgment of His
rule. Not only are those who hold this opinion in error and deceived, but also in distorting the idea of true religion
they reject it, and little by little, turn aside to naturalism and atheism, as it is called; from which it clearly follows that
one who supports those who hold these theories and attempt to realize them, is altogether abandoning the divinely
revealed religion.
(#3) But some are more easily deceived by the outward appearance of good when there is question of fostering
unity among all Christians.
(#9) This being so, it is clear that the Apostolic See cannot on any terms take part in their assemblies, nor is it
anyway lawful for Catholics either to support or to work for such enterprises; for if they do so they will be giving
countenance to a false Christianity, quite alien to the one Church of Christ.
(#15) So, Venerable Brethren, it is clear why this Apostolic See has never allowed its subjects to take part in the
assemblies of non-Catholics: for the union of Christians can only be promoted by promoting the return to the one
true Church of Christ of those who are separated from it, for in the past they have unhappily left it. To the one true
Church of Christ, we say, which is visible to all, and which is to remain, according to the will of its Author, exactly the
same as He instituted it.

Those who are saved without knowledge of Christ through no fault of their own are saved through his death and resurrection… even without knowing… the mercy of God extends to them… that is true but a dangerous recklessness to presume that it’s easy… best regards
It is also a dangerous recklessness to presume that those who call themselves Christians are saved

Sadly there is a group of priests and even a bishop of two who is blinded by prejudice
Who was St Athanasius?
What Pope Francis said in Singapore is unequivocally heretical which in and of itself doesn't make him a heretic of course.
What's more troubling is that he has since doubled down on it.
The last time he tried that nonsense on with the Abu Dhabi statement, he used the "Permissive Will' qualifier when challenged.
That 'excuse' isn't possible here.
He tripled down it.

For example, consider these three verses:
He who believes and is baptized will be saved. (Mk 16:16)
[U]nless you repent you will all likewise perish. (Lk 13:3)
[H]e who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. (Jn 6:54)
Notice that in these three verses Jesus associated salvation with baptism, confession, and the Eucharist, respectively.
Yes, it is important for Christians to realise that they must enter through the narrow gate. That is what I am seeking to help people do

You talk of taking Scripture out of context, yet offer up the example of Rahab James 2:25 and strip it of context, calling Rahab a pagan and contradicting James by implying Rahab was justified by works alone. James clearly knew something about Rahab that you missed Fr. Thady, that she helped the Israeli scouts because she was indeed a woman who believed:
"I'm really convinced that the Lord has given you the land", she [Rahab] said, "because we are overwhelmed with fear of you...because we heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea right in front of you as you were coming out of Egypt..." Jo's 2: 9-10
She believed in God, but she never met Jesus while on earth
@@GodsCottage
Jesus was still with the Father in heaven in the days of Joshua, so how could she? She believed in the one true God of Israel and acted on her belief. James used Rahab, a lowly prostitute, to illustrate his point that works follow true belief.
One must be baptized to enter the kingdom of God
While Jesus told Nicodemus, “Amen, Amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit” (John 3:5),
And some hear these words and do not act on them
There is a difference, though, between saying that people who did not and could not know Jesus as the Saviour, especially before he revealed himself to us as the Saviour in his Resurrection, can be justified and claiming that all other religions are ways to arrive at God - this is what Francis said.
Well spoken 👏

The New Covenant was with mankind in general.
The Messiah or Christ was prefigured in the Old Testament as Saviour but the Jews thought he'd be a triumphant King of Jews but he was persecuted and publicly humiliated on the Cross by the Roman Empire.

Christ is the sure way of being saved.
For those who embrace Him and live by his teaching
Jesus never said you can go to the Father by any other means then himself . I’m sure he would have said it if God the Father was going to make exceptions for non believers for example Fr When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” 8 (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a])
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Jesus alone fill the emptiness in the human heart. That does not mean that people who do not know him cannot be saved
Fundamentalism can mean any religious belief but fundamental Christianity was a stand against theologians like Rudolph bultmann who redefined the bible as myth and symbolism and the fear was Christianity was being watered down but got out of hand like deciding what movies to watch and clothing etc
If the bible says it it isn’t strictly wrong but it does cause rigid interpretations and brings about a personal belief and biases and assumptions
The big problem of the fundamental option is sin isn’t sin until it’s habitual
People described by you father, from the Bible, didn't know Jezus.
