- Hello, happy longest day and the Little Dove accompanies me in a musical story about the Little Owl.

The little owl (Athene noctua), also known as the owl of Athena or owl of Minerva, is a bird that inhabits much of the temperate and warmer parts of Europe, the Palearctic east to Korea, and North Africa. It was introduced into Britain at the end of the 19th century and into the South Island of New Zealand in the early 20th century.
The little owl is closely associated with the Greek goddess Athena and the Roman goddess Minerva, and hence represents wisdom and knowledge. A little owl with an olive branch appears on a Greek tetradrachm coin from 500 BC (a copy of which appears on the modern Greek one-euro coin) and in a 5th-century B.C. bronze statue of Athena holding the bird in her hand.
Beautiful song, Dove! 👼You know, I never really thought about it but June 21 makes a lot more sense to be called midsummer than early August (halfway between the summer solstice and the autumnal equinox). Because, as you said, the days are already getting shorter after the summer solstice. 6 weeks before and after June 21st should be summer 😃

Great to see ya.😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍And to talk about the owl stuck in the chimney I had a cockatiel that got frightened and flew onto a piece of furniture that had a gap between it and the wall and he fell way down behind it and fearing he would be injured or even more stressed or injured by moving it I put a sock on the end of one of those grabber things lowered it down and Rocky climbed on to the sock and held on and he was rescued. Birds are very intelligent aren't they. Great song looking forward to more of them. 🙂

The thing that worked in the end with the Little Owl was a garden hose with plastic bags taped around it to kind of whoosh her out gently.

@@dove4070 I've begun deconstruction- i.e. reducing some of my personal libraries of books, music, film, and art. There's what you love, what you like, and what is a passing interest. That last group has to go.... I need to reclaim the space, and these things keep me from spending more time with what I love. So you started playing guitar and writing songs at the same time? I've been playing a good few years now, but I can only really write melodies/solos. Never could wrap my head around writing an entire song.
Yes, well I started on the piano in 2020 (also can only play my own songs) and then I bought the guitar last year... It's so much easier to compose with!!!
