LT and MORR are my favorite channels. Seeing you guys comes together was epic in my world. Not a bad birthday present at all. Thanks. Also, you picked the right guy to help build a truck motor (or two?).
I'm absolutely blown away. This engine for Matts Off road is defo a one of a kind and your a master engine guy. I am an old big diesel engine chap from Africa. You just made my day. Happy Christmas to you all.
Thanks for the Christmas present, LT! As a devout fan of MORR, I’ve been waiting for this day. Matt made me a fan of your’s, LT. Merry Christmas to all and the happiest of New Years!🎄🎆
Absolutely a pleasure to see you work with Matt, man! You've got a fan in me for sure! Hope to shake your hand someday, LT! NICE JOB ON THE SPUD'S HEART!!! WHAT A BEAST!!!
Glad to see good Americans working together that whole family of off rotors off-road recovery guys hall 100% awesome people we need more Happy holidays and great job on that engine and it’s Installation 💯👏✊🇺🇸
I saw your welds on MORR earlier today, and was impressed. Those are some of the tidiest TIG welds I've ever seen. I hope your channel gets a huge boost from collaborating with Matt and his crew. You totally deserve it. Seeing Matt and Kaitlyn giggling their socks off driving the spud truck around the block was so funny.
LT, after watching Matt's version of this, it's just so obvious that you are the master of engine builds, you also know way more than Matt on building anything!
I watched it on Matt’s channel and the smile on your face says it all. The only correction I have for you is that the locals pronounce it “hurri-kin” instead of “hura-cane.”
As a long time fan and someone with an office very close to your office, if the MORRVAIR was really in town, I don't think you could stop me from Volunteering every day from sweeping your floors, doing whatever I could do to help with the (re) build.
It looked like you guys had a blast putting the Spud Truck on the road.. You really know your stuff LT. I’ve been following Matt from almost day 1 for him. I’m now subscribed to your channel and will be checking you out on a regular basis.. Great Job on the build. Be Safe in you Work MWP Cosby, Tn.
LT I appreciate the lack of editing on your channel. I have been watching this entire build series on both channels and it wasn’t until the last few minutes of your video that I saw what I was looking for. Matt has been editing out any view of the passenger door on the spud truck hoping we will forget he dropped it on the lift. 😂 glad to see your attention to detail ❤
It was worth the wait!! Thanks LT. Please make the Morrvair faster than a Jeep. By a Lot! The drivetrain should handle anything you put in there except for the trans.
Lawrence I have a question. I have a 72 gmc and want to put an LS in it. I seen you on Matt’s off-road. How is that possible. Efi with out all the sensors
Merry Christmas to everyone and good luck with this project. So, it is a cool engine-very well built ,but completely misplaced in the Spud Truck and is going to break a bunch of stuff. Best bet is to put the lowest boost pulley possible on it or remove the supercharger altogether. Under no circumstances does the MORRVAIR need a more powerful engine, especially one with a blower. As for diesel engines- excellent for over the road semis, ships and heavy equipment; absolutely ridiculous for pick-up trucks or similar
Kaulin said the top boost was 162 KPa That is about 23.5 psi. Your ambient pressure is ~100KPa or 1 bar so 62 KPa is about 9 psi boost. Your guess was close enough for government work!
I wondered about that, and stupidly thought that it had to be relative since as they were idling it was reading 0, but then I remembered that this is a petrol engine with what should be a pretty decent vacuum in the manifold at idle and while running down. Nine PSI it is then 🙂
Isn't there a whole mess of different ways to break in a engine? some guys sware by just hammering on it soon as you got it runnin well, others say baby it for 500 miles etc.
correct, but you need to subtract atmospheric pressure to find "boost" in the engine. it was about 93 KPA uncorrected barometric pressure that day, so about 70 KPA of positive pressure in the manifold.
@NWI_Steel fitment of everything else, lack of flange warping, lack of issues. Long tubes on a stock ls just make noise, not power. If your running 7500 rpm all day, that's fine. But this is a trail truck, and the added torque manifolds make, help it grunt, without having to possibly sacrifice a socket as a spacer for a bracket to kinda mount up correctly to a header flange, since they are thinner
That is inspiring! Great job LT. Just a quick question? Approximately what would you charge to do that. Given you and Matt are friends, but for a customer. Same set up engine and all you doing what you did? Just a rough estimate of course. Happy Holidays to you and yours Sir.
If you twin charge a diesel it is crazy responsive. Supercharger first, blowing through the turbo. Turbo blowing through the charger causes efficiency problems. Gale banks built a duramax that ended up being supercharger only. It doesn't respond like your typical diesel.
@@homerepairguy1 that dude is a wizard for sure, but I'm sure some of us dummies could bang our heads together and get close. The guy doesn't seem to keep any secrets.
Just need to supercharge the diesel if he wants reaction time. They LOVE forced induction, but they're almost only ever turboed because it's way more efficient. Build it right and a diesel will do everything you need it to. Also, I don't imagine he'll be doing any kinetic rope recovery on the spud truck. More than anything, I think he just doesn't really know diesel and is less comfortable with it than gas and thats fine. To each their own. But especially on his big slow trucks, he should really give it a shot.
@LotsOfPaypa didn't know that about LT, but I was talking about Matt. If you want pure drag strip performance, no you don't want diesel for the most part, doesn't rev high enough and as far as I know, that's mainly what LT does so I'm not surprised he's not doing diesel much. Not that you can't drag a compression ignition engine, it's just easier to build for higher top end performance on a spark ignition one. Matt isn't going to be hitting the rev limiter in the spud truck or trying to jump dunes. He doesn't need huge top end power since his big vehicles won't be going all that fast in the first place. I genuinely think it could be beneficial. There's a reason the US military uses diesel for their tactical vehicles, especially the ones that go into rough terrain, and it isn't because they're slow with no response.
Thanks, LT!
Let’s do it again soon.

LT you are a bad influence on Matt. Can't wait to see what you do with the Morvair😂
Awesome! That thing is way too nice for Matt!

Absolutely stellar LT!!! That will be a beast 💪
I know its early, but Merry christmas everyone
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you as well!
You have made me a believer, LT! Thank you for bringing Horsepower to MORR. Merry Christmas
All that's missing is the voice over guy saying next on truck we go for a test drive lol😂😂
Can't wait for the wrecker drags in Florida if they ever make good on that.

Such a sweet build, nice work fellas 👍🇺🇸
I've been happy with the Wagoneer, but now you're making me think I might have to bring it back for a blower -lol
Its a real credit to all on this build cream on top is the engine!!
Thats one sweet truck and one badass motor. Nice job LT, you did a hell of a job

Well done!

You can definitely tell that LT still has those voice-over skills left over from motortrend
Great job. What a great Christmas present
The spacers under the blower and tall valve covers really fill out the engine bay
Put some diesel stacks for exhaust with the little water flaps ..
Amazing WORK 🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏼
Awesome build 😮
I would call that a success!!
From Matt's - nice to meet you!😮
Glad to see you guys running the head plates. Sad you didnt go with a much more robust front drive tho....
This thing oozes "cool" 😎😎😎
I love it!!
A good truck
LT you still based in Colorado ?
I like that truck. Hopefully I’ll be able to build something like that and turn into an overland vehicle but with a some diesel power.
LT is right, more HP!

Hi can't wait to see when the truck is dun.
that thing is sick - you guys are not right lol
LT welding is clean
What kind of transmission and transfer case does that beast have?
So Amazing i like to see that in real life i think i need travel to USA from Sweden
Sick engine build. That ole truck is going to get abused lol
Don't get me wrong I love the videos...just don't wanna see you in the next one with a eye patch
Why not use a PRP bench seat instead of buket' seats??????
Ridiculous!!😊
What trans was Matt using in the truck?
Jesus Wept that is an Animal !!!!!!!!
He asked about boosting the MORR-Vair. What do you think about Nitrous? It would be a blast! (Pun intended.)
I was taught to break it in like it will be driven.
Robby should send over someone to start pulling on the passenger side damage
Build another one for the morrvair
Lockers in rear ends?
Kaulin said the top boost was 162 KPa That is about 23.5 psi. Your ambient pressure is ~100KPa or 1 bar so 62 KPa is about 9 psi boost. Your guess was close enough for government work!
Ahhh that makes more sense. Absolute pressure strikes again!
I wondered about that, and stupidly thought that it had to be relative since as they were idling it was reading 0, but then I remembered that this is a petrol engine with what should be a pretty decent vacuum in the manifold at idle and while running down. Nine PSI it is then 🙂
The engine looks like it isn't sitting level (side to side). Could be the camera angle.
are those black phantom laces in the work boots lol?
Are you driving in Matt’s off road games?
I recommend a full exhaust before the initial test drive. Engine is desiged to run with an exhaust n its too loud to hear engine issues.
I wondering how it will sound
Could have sworn 100kPa was 14psi... so 160 is over 20!
Thats 23psi of boost!
O M F G
Can’t believe still seeing cab and door damage on passenger side
Looked at the views count and watched your vid before Matt's lol
Wow that truck needs a bigger steering wheel.
I see you have safety eyes when cutting with a grinder...safety 3rd...
Dey be Safety Squints as per AVE. Yes safety 3rd!
Isn't there a whole mess of different ways to break in a engine? some guys sware by just hammering on it soon as you got it runnin well, others say baby it for 500 miles etc.
If its open rear 6x6 that seems a little silly
160kpa equals 23.206psi (per Google)
correct, but you need to subtract atmospheric pressure to find "boost" in the engine. it was about 93 KPA uncorrected barometric pressure that day, so about 70 KPA of positive pressure in the manifold.
162kpa = 23.4psi
Where's the 10 speed???
Break in these new motors you take it down the freeway at 70 for 15 mins and they are broke in
alsome video
Glad to see manifolds, and not headers, on a real utility driven truck.
Genuinely curious, why would you want manifolds over headers?
@NWI_Steel fitment of everything else, lack of flange warping, lack of issues.

160 kpa… prolly 10.
It’s 23 lbs of boost😂
Matt got fatter. Much love brother hope the fraud situation is cleared up.
Hope that box was empty. ❤
You do realize he's got a 632. Lol!❤

*gale banks is your clue 😉
@homerepairguy1 my clue to what exactly?
It’s a one off build from a master at his craft. Diesel like what you are talking about almost no can execute something like that yet.
@@chaseautry7753 he's the best of the best. You ought to look over the rest of that truck he built.

worlds fastest? not a chance. I like c60s but there's way too many faster wreckers in the mud scene
LT I know you were cringing inside every time Matt did something "good enough". It drives me f'n crazy!
We believe in LT and yes, the morvair needs lots more power! Just like the spud truck because that thing is bad ass!👍🏼🤩🫡❤️
