    Title doesn't seem correct. PIC (student) is in the right seat on these birds. The instructor has a very loose grip on takeoff and isn't even touching the controls much near the end. This looks like he let the student take off, who used too much left pedal, and allowed the student to correct. You can see the stress in the student's face. At no point was the helicopter in danger, a R44 with only two people in it has tons of power available and while the yaw was unintentional, it was far from dangerous.

      Yeah I came to the same conclusion after watching the video a few times. I'd be lying if I said this didn't happen to me a few times in the R22 during training.
      Although this type of thing happening in an R22 is much scarier than in a 44. Much less power to work with on those little egg beaters 😂

    I didn't see any out of control helicopter, when a helicopters out of control it's out of controlling the student doesn't save it

    I've got 8,000 military Instructor pilot hours in helicopters. This IP has the controls caged to feel what the student is doing. Both are doing what is expected for a student with about 3 to 5 hours of flight time.

      Tell that to my friend who owns one of the first production R44s and is still flying with zero mechanical problems.
      An aircraft is only as good as the maintenance it receives.

    Nobody lost control of anything. Look at the feet, that yaw input was intentional.
