According to the manual, it is important lubricating grease with 5 g of the axis of the movable part of the CVT.

Yes did it that way with a ratchet, the way the books says is impossible. Fitted a Brisk LGS sports plug, huge improvement in performance, well recommended. Thanks again

You can used the brake cleaner ,or rust remover like WD40 to clean up old grease or dirt on the variator sliders, clutch bell and clutch shoes but make sure it does not leave any oil trace especially on the clutch bell or shoe as this will caused belt slipped if there is any remain of oil

not sure about other scooters, but for mine, at 5000km, there is alot of dust inside. with the frequent stop-go riding in Singapore, clutch gets glazed often. so i find it good to maintain it it top condition. that is why i bought my own tools so i save on going to the shops and paying others to do it. it doesn't take all that long anyway to DIY.
unnecessary or not, i guess its up to the rider. :) have a nice day!

Wouldn't be a better idea to use an appropriate wrench and a clutch stopper?!

    很棒的分享!步驟很細膩!
    如果常拆傳動的話,用更好一點的鋰電扳手,效果快又順手。

All nice and well explained, but one thing your doing wrong. Before puting the variator drive face, you should squeeze the belt, so it gets deeper between the clutch plates. Doing so, the belt is loose at the other end. The variator drive face can be installed in one move after that. Best regards!

yup this was my first time. doing your method means u can tighten it in one go. mine works but just takes more times.

a few critical things everyone who think they are pros with diy cvt service make mistakes with.
1-YOU MUST open the clutch every single service to remove clean and regrease all parts. because there is a LONG inerval of 18000km between service, it is too long and MUST BE OPENED AND CLEANED AND REGREASED. 2 seals checked and 2 bearings to clean and regrease.
2-if you have stock rollers there is a closed side and an open side. u make sure to put the closed side of the roler with it to the right, turn the holder and put another one in with the closed side to the right.
3-very amateur mistake #3 you didnt push the belt deep enough into the pulley on the clutch. that will cause you to tighten the front finned pulley on the bolt and not the crankshaft arm. you may have an issue with it coming loose while youre driving. big mistake
4-amateur for sure. not closing down the bolt with a torque wrench. big big big mistake.
5-sanding the bell should be done perpendicular to the clutch at 90º for the best "bite" NOT side to side like he did. you should sand short wall, not long round face. 90º
invest in a variator tool holder and use a torque wrench. use the dimples to hold it still
another tip. use ANTISEIZE cream on the edge of the cvt cover for easy removal next time.
very bad information on youtube. be careful people!
    very bad tutorial video.

Compared to your skill with the tools, I am sure you are way much better than me even though i have ridden for more than 20 yrs. I am thinking of knowing how to clean my cvt for my x9. InsyaAllah i will get the sym. but would really like if it has the 600cc.

that knocking of the impact tool on the gears...
Dont you need to lock the CVT with a "special tool" first ?

Nice work , the new 650 is supposed to be released some time soon, do you think that is too big for a single cylinder ?
I think the GoPro worked great on your highway ride, keep up the good work

    every 20-40K
but if you're extra cautious person, then you might check your belt for any damage every 10K. doing it more frequently is just a waste of time and money.

At 7mn03: We never let go of the half bell at the risk of the rollers turning over.
A 7mn03 :On ne lâche jamais la demi cloche au risque que les galets se retournent.
