Sat at this concert in Chicago with a women next to me started crying. She told me that her son came back from Afghanistan and couldn't deal what he saw and did. Eventually ending his life.Such power lyrics by Polly ( daves wife which write almost all of his solo work and he does the music first)

This Pompeii concert was in 2016 (22 years after the Pulse Concert). Gilmour would have been around 70 at the time of the Pompeii concert.

This solo is the best ever, even better than comfortably numb.

congrats, you are one of the first guys to react to this epic track. I saw him live at wiesbaden Germany 2016 and with the first string he played the goosebumps come. beside mark Knopfler for me the most brilliant guitarists there are! and especially tracks like this one or high hopes, comfortably numb, sorrow and many more are unique!

so happy to see you react to this, it's one of my absolute favourites, especially those backing singers and the guitar solo. as you say, epic

At 5 minutes in, that's the first time I've ever heard a guitar scream in pain.

It's a great tune with an epic outstanding guitar solo again. I love his playing so much and it's never boring. Since 1970 i'm a great fan of Pink Floyd and David. I saw him twice. It was really great and i will never forget it. Excellent upload.

Thanks for reacting to this; one of the highlights of David Gilmour's solo tour for me. Another great one to check out is from his solo tour from 10 years previous, in 2006. Specifically, Castellorizon/On an Island, Live In Gdansk.

Not heard this before funny enough! Great job by the male backing singer and of course Mr Gilmour, Problem is after Floyd and David there is nothing else that will ever top it and everyone else is just playing catch up :)

"It's bloody warm in here".......well, you are wearing a jumper that would keep 3 fishermen warm mate! This is a song I haven't seen reacted to before, really glad it was recommended to you. Like my cohort J Delaney says, it's great to see someone react to hearing this for the first time, and you do wear your heart on your sleeve mate!
On the music - whether he's 17 or 70, Dave will always provide a guitar solo that takes you to another place. Pompeii was such a fabulous choice for a venue, and it shows the worldwide acclaim for Dave that he was given permission to play there (again)
    Great reaction buddy, keep'em coming

Ah, great choice! I think I've recommended it as well. Definitely one of his best solo songs, and he's still got the magic touch at the age of 70. Also check out the 'Remember That Night' concert from the 2006 tour. It's brilliant from start to finish, but 3 highlights are 'The Blue', 'Fat Old Sun', and 'Echoes'' (IMO actually the best version, even though most people request the Gdansk version, which is amazing as well).

JB, you have reacted to both the studio and Pulse versions of Comfortably Numb. Even if you do not do a RUclips reaction to it, try to catch David Gilmour live at Pompeii (2016) performing Comfortably Numb. Guy Pratt (bass player from Pulse) joins David. Sadly, keyboardist Richard Wright had passed away by then, as well as Claudia Fontaine (one of the 3 background singers from Pulse).
