Oh yes, one of the days that changed my life, I remember it well. March 24th, 1992. First time I heard her, had only read about her a week or two before. Her American TV debut, I believe. What an amazing voice! When she starts singing after the solo I still get chills. The World's Most Dangerous Band does a great job backing her up. Too bad the picture's a little dark, you can't see well the dirndl skirt she was wearing. This is one of the best performances I've ever seen/heard on a TV show. Glorious!
I heard this song over the speaker system at a used CD store in Bellevue, WA. Sara wasn't famous yet. I heard that voice and asked the clerk who that was. He showed me the CD and I bought it. Soon after that, Fumbling Toward Ecstasy was released and she became very famous in the USA. But I've always been a bit proud that I heard how special she was before the masses did.
Silver Platters off 148th? ;) My bandmate introduced me to Sarah in the early 90s, just saw her show for 30th anniversary of FTE in Woodinville. She killed it, still buzzin from that show.
One of the best talents to ever come out of Canada. You know she’s talented because she sounds the exact same live (if not better) as on her records. That’s Effin talent.
This is just a few weeks before I saw her in concert for the first time, in SF -- best concert ever. Particularly memorable as the Rodney King riots were also going on. They wouldn't let us out until we could say how we were getting home, which was indeed a problem for us East Bay girls.
This is the song that clued me into Sarah. Was at First Avenue for a show and they play videos on the a big screen before shows. This was one of them. Bought the disc the next day.
Love her music. Turn down the damn guitar. I fought with guitar heads for decades in amateur bands and hated it. Mix for the vocals so you dont sound like an amateur performance

Gorgeous gifted and humble they don't make them like her anymore !
That was a discovery! Sarah’s first letterman performance!

I bought a cassette tape of her when she was 17 years old, beat ya!
@@stupidas9466 Yes, you did. Was it the band she was part of in high school? (I just looked up her bio.)

@@scottfielding6179 I don't think so. It was a very small used record and cd store, about the size of a large living room in a house.
She's soooo pretty!!!!
Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦 Sarah is a angel on earth 🌍
The sound of my youth. Still listening to her today ❤️🙌🏻
Hmmm, and what about today??

I really miss the 90s.
The band really lit up at the end, it would have been nice to see that continue.
Something tells me this audience did not appreciate how great this was.
damn, so that's what they mean by sparkling eyes
Black backup singers were getting down!
Haha I almost forgot about those huge cd cases

Kudos to Sarah for making the best of a half-assed hack house band, and those backup singers…ugh!
Her band is much better!

Sad that he sound mixing on this sucked and it was rushed. It didn’t get the presentation it deserved.
Back when Letterman was actually funny and not a freak like he is now.
Not bad, but Trump's rendition of this song is way better
There are few things more repugnant than watching Paul Schaffer try to sing.
Or be hip.
😂
