The Fumbling Towards Ecstasy album is one of the best pop albums in the last century. This show is magical.
I bought the album, I had no idea who she was and I had never heard any of her songs. I thought with a title like that, it was worth the gamble. Such an incredible album
This specific 1999 Mirrorball live concert is hands down the best versions of these songs. The radio versions don't even compare.

This band was absolutely off the damn charts. Dynamic, explosive, totally comfortable with displaced grooves like this, and a textural dream of guitars and keys. That's to say nothing of Sarah's command performance. This concert in all its forms is a treasure.
This YT copy is too dynamic compressed, listen to the CD, or see the DVD, it's more explosive. The Songs kickoff.

I saw Sarah perform in Adelaide in 2004 for her Afterglow tour. She played this song for her second encore, to which the audience demanded another, and she played Angel to finish the show. She was magnificent on stage.

I can tell you guys, i am not a pop fan, i am listening to melodic Doom Death, and DSBM, atmospheric BM mostly, but i like Sarah McLachlan for a hell long time, simply >25 years, i know her music since Solace, which was into 1991, and i was still a teenager. This live Album still rocks such a long time later. Because the 1999 concert kicks ass - into its very own way. Sarah sings with all her heart, love & soul, and one does notice that, as a listener to her songs.
Introduces her this way when she introduces the band. Sarah is dynamic, deep, honest and outstanding at everything she does. I do agree this Mirrorball show is incomparable to anybody. Truly amazing. Goosebumps every single time.

I know this and two other songs of Sarah from DUE SOUTH. I remebrer this show as I was a kid. Great tv show with great soundtrack. At the time any of my friends couldn't tell me what was the tittle of this song, so I recorded it on cassette straight from tv show. After many, many years - 20 I suppose, I found these cassetes and played them back while Shazam was running, so I could know the artist. Till then I heard every song of Sarah. Great voice, music and talent. P.s. Who remember DUE SOUTH and Jay Semko main theme?

If you love this song, and I do love it, you need to check out the actual Mirrorball CD version of this song, which is an order of magnitude better. The guitar on this version isn't nearly as good as on the CD

There are a few comments on this and it's bound to be confusing now with streaming; I was just listening to the Complete Concert release and it's the unedited version, whereas the original abridged release features the solo you're talking about. Maybe that more melodic solo is what he usually played and he just had a weird night here or perhaps he was just trying something else, but I actually prefer how angular it is.

Travesty...Sean Ashby does first guitar solo on audio CD release of this song from Mirrorball, and in this version from the DVD video, the rhythm guitar player absolutely botches it. Still, possibly the best concert video of all time.
Actually seems the audio CD release is the different, stronger version of this song. Ashby is a much better guitar player than the rhythm guitar player Sarah has. Listen to the first solo from audio CD and compare.
